  1. Hello Gents, my name is Alessandro and this is my first post on the forum I am pretty new to the "self-rig" build and PC hardware in general but thanks to my technical academic background I try to wrap up with the topic as fast as I can. I have recently built my first rig with the following specs: Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X 16 Core CPU Mobo: ASUS® ROG ZENITH EXTREME ALPHA RAM: 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (2 x 16GB) GPU: 2 * 16GB AMD RADEONTM VII - HDMI, 3 x DP - DX® 12 1st DRIVE: 1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W) 2nd DRIVE: 4TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA PRO 3.5", 7200 RPM 128MB CACHE PSU: CORSAIR 1200W HX SERIESTM MODULAR 80 PLUS® PLATINUM, ULTRA QUIET The Processor is liquid cooled by Corsair H150i PRO Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler and one of the two GPU by the recent Alphacool GPX Eiswolf AIO cooler. PC is really multipurpose: i.e. working, programming, gaming, mining, scientific calculations (fluid-mechanics) and occasionally content creation ... I managed to overclock the CPU very easily and now runs stable at 4.1GHz. After some time I noticed that I needed more RAM (especially for fluid-mechanics simulation post-processing) and I might have committed I silly "mistake". I purchased Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16x4 kit rated at 3200MHz at 16-18-18-36 (CMW64GX4M4C3200C16). I already knew before buying that it was compatible only (theoretically) with Intel builds (https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Memory/Vengeance-PRO-RGB-Black/p/CMW64GX4M4C3200C16). Anyway I managed to obtain the RAM characteristics from Thaiphoon Burner and I said: "Look is Samsung B-die!!! cannot be too hard to OC for my 2950x!". In short I was very hyped and the reason I bought it is that it would have been so damn good on my rig... not a smart move... Anyway, in conclusion, I only managed to run stable the adverdised XMP profile at 2800MHz. The RAM is installed in the quad-channel configuration A1-B1-C1-D1 suggested in the mobo manual. I also tried to play with the timing and Ryzen DRAM Calc for Samsung B-dies, but without any luck. Finally, my question is: is there anyone who could give me any advice on how (and if it is really possible) to "pump" it at 2933MHz. I would be super happy if I can reach that goal. Thanks in advance for the help. "I might be dumb at the beginning, but I learn fast..." Ale
