You can say the same about books being only for showing off you have excess money and living space (like their status in the early days). There is no meaningful quality difference reading from a kindle or a book. You get the exact same story. You do it for the experience. Sure, bvinyl is inconvenient by modern standards and inferior, but that is not the sole purpose of vinyl. Just like flipping a page cannot be matched by an ebook, putting on a record and dropping the needle cannot be matched by a CD or digital file. I also enjoy the large format in terms of album cover. It's the package deal. I'm also not an audiophile chasing the highest of audio quality though. Vinyl is perfectly good quality for me so it is a concious choice in my case and I mostly focus on "special" things like soundtracks or great albums that make it worth "the hassle" of a record.

OP: people generally seem happy with that player, so I doubt it will be a bad buy. You can always change or upgrade down the line. For speakers it depends what you are after. If you don't mind passive speakers then you could opt for getting a simple stereo receiver with a headphone out, for example. Then you could already start using it with your headphones and continue looking at speakers for later on.
[Edit] whoops, missed the other thread. I see you already bought it.

Just keep in mind that the audio output in the rear is Balanced, so if you're trying to output the audio from the Zen Can to external speakers, the speakers will need Balanced inputs. I think you can also buy some converter box to convert the output to unbalanced, but I've never done this before, so I have no recommendations.

Unless you got a golden ear, chances are you won't notice the difference

It's quite a mixed bag, in my opinion, using unbalanced (3.5mm & 6.3mm / quarter inch) and balanced (4.4mm) doesn't really give that many improvements
Some would claim that balanced sounds better, but I can't vouch for that

So, as long as it works, I say it's fine. Enjoy your hi-fi setup

Make sure the record player is set to line on the back.
Dotn think that headphone amp has phono-level input.

Also make sure you take of the protective cap of the head of the record player. (as in pic)
If done right there should be a very small needle like thing portruding on the bottom where it will rest on in the vinyl.

If any of these things you already tried, you should've said it in first post. 😉

Try ampless on a pair of speakers or whatever you can plug l+r or a l+r to aux cable into and see if anything comes out of it.

You have a record playing AND the needle is making contact correct? You should hear some music from the needle going along the record already to verify that is working.

Also make sure the phone and line switch is in the correct mode for what you are doing. Worst case try usb and see if you can get some audio data to a pc.

Also what chassis did you ground to? The amp has no grounding either so that won't work well and can give issues

If you dont even hear sound from the needle directly(might need to put your ear to it) without anything connected but it playing, you either have it on a part with no sound or the needle is broken. (not that likely)

Yes there is an issue somewhere in the amplification.
Like @jaslionsaid, try if you can connect some (not to big) speakers directly to the output of the record player.
If there is sound coming out, it most likely is on the part of the headphone amp.

This is right. The RCA jacks on this DAC/AMp are outputs, not inputs. So it won`t work.

    That's a very low budget.
From checking this site, I think 85 is the lowest I can find for an amplifier that has both RCA input and RCA output. Most other options are just digital input (optical, USB) and analog output.

My advice. Check the WIFi with your phone and maybe a WiFi analyzer app. If the signal and speeds are good then it might be ok to invest with a WiFi card. I would advise you to look at what router they are using to see what WiFi standards the router supports. You will want to specifically test on the 5Ghz band if you are worried about faster speeds. I believe Intel chipsets are still the gold standard. It might be worth it to get one of those WIFi cards where the antenna is connected via a cable vs directly connected to the back of the card so you can ensure the best signal. As long as your room isnt directly under the router I would expect you should get decent ish speeds and reliability.

I seen you looked at Moca. I would like to say Moca is a bit involved to install. Besides you needing at least RG6 coax ran to each location. You also need to ensure that the points between the adapters are never more than 300 feet. If the coax is being used to Cable TV and or Internet service you need a moca filter on the main line coming in. Oh and while you can have up to 16 moca devices on a network I believe, the more devices the slower it gets.

Be aware that a thin cable, carefully and tastefully routed can do a MUCH better job in terms of performance and reliability.

Also you can "share" an ethernet cable or port across multiple devices pretty easily with a network switch.

Usable if you're able to get one upstairs CLOSE to one downstairs.

Be aware that Wi-Fi 5 (AC) has worse latency characteristics vs Wi-Fi 6.

If you really can't run an Ethernet cable under any circumstances, and MoCA is not an option, then WiFi is probably the best choice. Powerline is fine if you don't need really high speeds.

Mesh isn't a bad idea, but if you're not allowed to change the router, then it won't really work. The idea with mesh is that it isn't just a series of extenders - the modules work together, so they need the router to be part of the mesh network.

Snazzy Labs recently did a great video on options for how to do networking without drilling or punching holes in things to run cables. I'd recommend giving it a watch.

Is there an Attic that you can drop a cable down to or any sort of way to get the Ethernet to the room? Otherwise yes you will have to do something like that.

You can actually use that router as just a Wireless Access Point - there's a setting in the router that disables the "router" part and just leaves the switch and WiFi active.

As for taking advantage of gigabit Internet, you almost certainly won't get that with a powerline adapter.

Does the house have coaxial cabling (cable TV) that you could use via MOCA?

I'm running the Straight Power 11 750w for a 5800X and 7900XT and that works just fine.
If you can get the 1000w version for a good price I'd pick that one again.

    Both are good.
To be blunt, I'm one of those who'd rather pay the OEM directly because I believe that way you get better for the same price.
What I mean is, when paying 100€ to Seasonic you pay only Seasonic, but when you pay 100€ to Corsair both Corsair and Seaonic have to profit from it because Corsair doesn't make the PSU...

im going to guess psu issue as that card is drawing a steady 350w and will have transient spikes to 500w+.

You can use hwinfo to get a log of all of your system sensors. I’d pay particular attention to voltages coming out of the psu.

Hey, I've just bought myself a 7800 xtx and got the same crashes/freezes (same with Deep Rock Galactic) - and managed to solve it!

I'm not sure if this will solve it for you, but I disabled AMD FreeSync Premium inside AMD Adrinaline (Settings wheel -> Display -> Select your monitor(s) -> AMD FreeSync Premium -> Disabled -> Reboot).

For what it's worth, I have two monitors, one of which supports it, the other does not, so I'm guessing it's got something to do with that. That's just a guess though.

Hope this helps you as it did me. Happy gaming :fingerscrossed:

I don't have another PSU, but I guess that could be the issue. If it is I'll get a new one since 700W is probably not optimal.
