  1. Why are my optimal settings in my geforce experience recommending all low settings when I have an i7-7700 and a 1060 6gb? I have the recommended GPU and better than the recommended CPU. https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/need-for-speed/need-for-speed-heat/about/pc-system-requirements This game seems to almost max out my i7 which I find weird. Unless this game just eats my hardware and it's just normal.
  2. Just got it up and running. The cable unplugged when I inserted the drive into one of my bays. It's all up and running now...
  3. Currently looking through my manual for my motherboard. The sections on connectors and sata points are kinda confusing.
  4. Nope. I have another crucial ssd as my main boot drive. Don't think any of the ports are disabled. Checked in my BIOS. Seemed ok. Not sure how to scan for new drives through the BIOS though
  5. I tried to switch out my WD Blue SATA drive for a Crucial SSD. I literally just unplugged my SATA drive and plugged the cables used for that drive into my new SSD. It's not coming up in my hard drive list or in diskmgmt.msc Any help? (btw, it's a secondary drive, not my main OS boot drive)
  6. Recently installed some new case fans. When I powered up my system and did some fan RPM tweaking I noticed that there is a really annoying buzzing sound coming from my PC. I initially thought it was coming from my new case fans, but after unplugging them I realised that it's actually coming from my SSD/HDD area. The sound may have been there before, but I guess I'm more sensitive to all sounds now because I'm listening out for how loud my new fans are. Wondering if anyone else here has annoying buzzing sounds from their PC and if there's anything that I can do to avoid them?
  7. The PC case came with long screws which fit in the previous fan position, but because I've remounted at the back, the screw holes are different. Seem to have miss placed the fan screws. I've just used a ziptie for the moment while I wait for my new fans (don't judge me). It definitely didn't come with anti-vib mounts tho.
  8. Yea tbh I have had really bad experiences with MSI support in the past
  9. I currently use the MSI GK-701 RGB MX silver speed keyboard and the MSI GM10 mouse. - The keyboard is great. Really happy with the build quality and how it feels. I've had no issues and it functions well. - The GM10 is basically their lowest spec mouse. But it has no side buttons which I like, it's light, really comfortable and it works well for my gaming needs. So to ask the title question again. Why does nobody talk about MSI peripherals? I noticed that zero MSI keyboards are on the mech keyboard list in this forum, and none of their peripherals seem to make it on to keyboard/mice "best buy" lists. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  10. Thanks @Windows7ge . I also just managed to disconnect the fan. I had to fully move it from side to side to get it off while using a mini flat head. New problem has arisen tho. None of the screws I have fit for screwing in the fan at the new position. Hoping the new case fans I'm ordering will come with spares that will fit tho...
  11. @Windows7ge So glad I'm not the only one to deal with this. When I searched online about this I couldn't get an answer because of the wording of my question, and it doesn't say anything about this in any of my manuals. Thanks, I'll try this. (also, is the only way to reply in this forum to use the quote function, or is replying better by just @ 'ing someone?)
  12. Yeah I think I installed it correctly because the plastic bits on the connector line up with the plastic part on the mobo connector. (It's actually on the 4: sys fan 1/2 slot.) Kinda hard to get a good photo of it. I'm wondering if you need to press down on the plastic mobo part to release it or something? but if that's the case, i'm gonna find that super hard because it's so small.
  13. The other month I connected a fan to my motherboard. I recently tried to disconnect it because I want to switch around my case fan config, but I can't disconnect it! I feel like if I tug any more I'm going to break one of the pins, or the motherboard itself. Wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this before and what to do about this? Note: I noticed that there are actually 2 ways you can connect it, so I'm not sure if I connected it the wrong way round or something?! Specs: mobo: Gigabyte > GA-Z270P-D3 | Fan: Corsair ML120mm 4 pin connector | connected to internal connector 5: sys fan 3 First time posting in here so unsure if this is the right place to post this question. Cheers
