Is it in the H1 case? If so, go into your BIOS and force PCIE into gen 3 instead of Auto. If you're using GPU-Z, what is it showing for the link speed when you're having rendering errors?
Not in the h1 case.
I'll have to get back to you on the link speed, I've chucked a 2060 super in for now so i'll have to change it over.

What exact PSU and what are the rest of your system specs? There are ways to diagnose with software, but I'm not completely sure it would work here. Could be worth a shot if everything else seems okay.
Does the GPU artifact or anything like that before it throws errors?
The psu is an NZXT 650w 80+ gold from the h1 case.
I have a 5700x and an asrock a520m-ITX/ac
Arctic 280 liquid freezer
it has 1 m.2 ssd and 1 hdd
the cpu is pretty much at idle when rendering
Edit: No artifacts
This is the part of the log that shows the errors

That's a very weird way for it to die. There are four power phases for the VRAM which would split it into 6gb "chunks" that way, but it seems odd that 3 of the 4 would die at the same time.
you think this could be a PSU issue?
I have a 650w psu, I know this isn't recomended for a 3090 but the rest of the system sips power and the gpu shows around 300w when running at 100%. The whole system when rendering is around 450w max and its been running fine until recently.
-
I have a Gigabyte 3090 vision. I took a gamble on a used one (probably ex mining) about 10 months ago, it now crashes when using ove around 6GB of vram. It's not been overclocked by me and is used for image rendering.
It doesn't crash my pc it just stops the render after a short time and shows vram errors in the render log.
Apart from rendering large vram usage scenes it seems to work fine. It will run Time spy, Heavan and the hairy doughnut without problems.
Is there a diagnostic tool I can use to test it?
Any ideas, is it salvagable or am I listing it on ebay for spares?
Thanks

HWMoniyor is notoriously bad, get HWINFO and try again.
Thanks but that is the same.
HWmonitor, hwinfo and Fan Speed all showing frozen cpu temp. Can't even run ryzen master for some reason.
-
I've been using Fan Control and noticed if I tried to open hwmonitor the temp readings for my cpu would freeze and the fans would remain at the speed that I had set for that temp.
Assumed this was being caused by a conflict, I left Fan Control running as it was doing a good job.
I've changed my gpu for used unit so wanted to give it a good stess test and monitor the stats.
I disabled Fan Control and set a curve for the cpu in Bios and for the gpu in afterburner. Bios reading the temp fine but anything I use in Windows, now including Fan Control, not working. Gpu temp showing fine in hwmonitor and afterburner.
I'm a little bit reluctant to do a bios update in case the temp readings stick and my pc shuts down during the process.
Asus A520M
Ryzen 5 4500
Changed from evga 3060 to gigabyte 3090Windows 10 (up to date, can't remember the version)
TIA

Still acting comletely weird with shut downs and restarts.
Going for the nuclear option of a clean install.

Did you install the AMD chipset driver, and do you use "AMD ryzen powersaver" and other AMD powerplans, or do you use the built in windows default ones`?
I have the chipset driver but use windows power options
I will reinstall driver and try ryzen app

well umm, Ryzen "balanced" is 99% minimum *at all times* at least for me, you may wanna check that?
Changed to power saving and the clock speeds came down, Still high temps at idle (aroud 56C).
Now the clocks don't go above 3.0 even when the cpu is stressed.
Something is well and truly balked. Probably going to try another fresh install of 10

This is a new build
Ryzen 5 4500
Asrock A520m itx
RTX 3060
32GB ddr4 3200mhz
clean install of windows 10 pro was causing shut down issues. Turned off fast start up but had issues booting.
Decided to give windows 11 a try. Still the same boot issues but now cpu is permenently boosting all cores and temp at idle is in the 60's (windows 10 was in 30's and not boosting 100% of the time) despite low cpu usage 2-4%
It's on a balanced power plan
Thank you for any help

No, you were lecturing us like we didn't know how supply and demand works. This is not Twitter, Reddit or YouTube, it's a tech forums, people here usually know how things like this work.
It's my opinion on the situation. I'm not sure how you would like me to express that. Next time I'll ask you what my opinion should be before posting.

Thanks captain obvious.
It doesn't seem that obvious from the amount of people crying over it.

I can't understand why people are getting so angry and upset at not being able to get a new card right now.
For a great majority of us these are luxury items. I'm pretty sure life won't change if people have to wait a few months.
Scalpers will always be there as long as some idiot is willing to pay them. You can't blame them for not getting a card. The amount of cards they have is a drop in the ocean compared to demand.
We are turning into an "I want and I want it now" society, that's not healthy. 30 extra fps is not going to make your life better.
People need to get a grip and stop acting like over privileged spoilt little shits.
And a question for those who are so upset by the scalpers.
Let's say you were trying to buy from a few different retailers at launch, to try and increase your chances. You end up being able to purchase 2 at msrp what would you do?
Would you cancel 1 order as you only want 1,and give someone else a chance?
Or
Buy the 2 and think I can make a bit of money off the second?
I'd be willing to bet most would say they'd cancel the 2nd. And I'd also say most of them are liars.
Just chill, make the most of what you have now and eventually you will be able to walk into a store and pick one up from the shelf or have one delivered next day.
-
I'm guessing the big sponsorship money would be in the videos with the latest and greatest. These guys have bills to pay.
There are loads of other channels where ordinary guys and girls buy and test older stuff to see how it's holding up and give you an idea of what it should be worth.
Tech Yes and Random Gaming come to mind.

This is like 2 people completing a jigsaw puzzle. Just because they both completed it doesn't mean 1 was told how to do it by the other.
It is possible that they came up with the solution independently.

Crossed wires I think. If you're talking about the Voodoo I saw that one.
My card is the gtx 570 which is probably too new for Clint.

I'll never understand computers as long as I have a hole in my ass.
I contacted the vendor. They asked me to check a few things. 1 was to try ram in only A1 with and without xmp. Which led to testing a few more combinations.
When only 1 stick in A1 it passes windows memory diagnostics with and without xmp.
4 sticks pass without xmp but fail with xmp.
3 sticks in a2, b2 and either A1 or b1 pass with both xmp enabled or disabled.
All 4 work individually.
So it seems to be an issue only with all 4 running xmp.Edit: More research seems to suggest that it's more to do with the Ryzen 5 2600 memory controller not being able to cope with 4 sticks at higher speeds. So manual oc it is.Ram is Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz 16 20 20 38.I've left timings as they are and seem to have it stable at 2866 1.3v close enough for me. -

NICE!
The 500 Fermi series was decent! I'm actually using the GTX 580 in my current system while waiting on 3000 series stock!
What sort of performance are you getting from it?
Asking as I'm probably going to sell on the Aurora when I'm finished and move on to another project. I'm not much of a gamer (the most modern game I have is Watch Dogs 2)
Its going to be paired with an i7 950

Ryzen Master will not launch or uninstall.
I get the "do you allow this app to make changes" then nothing.
I've tried uninstalling and get "Ryzen Master Installation detects another instance is running"
Closed from Task Manager then uninstall, still nothing.
I've tried to run setup again to try and reinstall over the top, same message.
Amd clean up utility doesn't shift it.
Any more ideas?

@IkeaGnome was going to say you're not going to believe this, but you probably will.
I've reinstalled the 3090 and as hard as I try I can't recreate the issue, it seems to be working fine. I'd previously removed and reinstalled the card and updated drivers (after ddu) and it still crashed. Now no issues I've loaded up the vram to 17GB and it just works.
I'll stress test it for a few hours and see what happens.
Thank you for your time helping.
