i live in sweden does the refresh rate on the monitor get saved if i change it on one pc nd then connect it to another? nd if you're up for it id gladly pay for shipping somehow but ill try what you said before i attempt things that might break other things

yeah ik its from 1996 id love to get it working again some people thats been working with old pcs recommended to clean the bios chip on the gpu but i dont have a single clue on how to remove it

so it died over night then? since it worked yesterday

so i got this about 22 year old pc from work thats been sitting for 3 years, yesterday i got it to boot far enough to get to that black screen with a white bar blinking but then the day after the monitor keeps going into power save mode i bought a new monitor just for that pc nd yes it works i also bought a new vga cable for it that also works the only thing i can think off is that the connection is bad since a vga screw has been broken off inside of the vga port so it cant be screwed in all the way or the gpu magically died last night. the specs: intel pentium 600E 1 GB ram 1 stick of ssd ram (no clue what that is) gpu: cirrus logic clgd5446 mobo: SY-7VCA 250W psu

ok instead of what u all went with i basically went with the cheapest things i could find case is a cooler master elite 430 i5 3550 3,30 ghz amd radeon 7570 hd some liquid cooling idk what the name of it is and a mb from 2011 p8z68-v pro/gen3 wd blue 1 tb i got this all used btw and just some random fans i found in my apartment secured with stripes on the case and lets not forget the 500w corsair psu
