SD card partition not recognized for OS install?

mine uses "bayhubtech integrated sd controller(sda compliant host)". knowing this I am unsure how to go about fixing this issue.
  2. I recently purchased an HP Envy 13t and want to get back into using Linux for an upcoming CS class. Tried to install Arch onto my micro SD card and it couldn't find the partition. Tried Debian and had the same problem. It only recognizes my laptop's SSD and the 16gb USB I'm using to store the ISO file. tl;dr: Tried to install Arch then Debian onto micro SD card. Neither OS could find my partition. Using HP Envy 13t.
