  1. I'm buying a mac mini for ios app development. Base model has 8gb of ram, is it worth the upgrade to the 16gb? I also get 512gb of storage included. If I upgrade the RAM to 16gb and the storage to 512gb, I can get the M2 pro for an extra 300$. Is that worth it? I'll be doing software development, and running some server applications on the machine 24/7. I want the machine to last me a long time, so I want to futute proof. Can anyone with experience give me some pointers? I don't want to spend on something I don't need, but I don't want to get stuck with a slow machine in the long run.
  2. A year ago or so I wanted a second, powerful android phone to compliment my iphone which I daily drive. Ended up buying an ROG phone 5, and it's been working well up until recently. The phone is rooted, and has the bootloader unlocked for tinkering, and without changing anything I started experiencing a bootloop. I did what I always do, and went to re-flash the stock ROM, but when I went on ASUS's website for the phone, they had removed all the download links fore the firmware. Ended up just wiping the data partition, which seemingly fixed the issue. But the bootloader had locked itself when I whiped the user data. ASUS in their great wisdom also removed the download link for their proprietary bootloader unlocking tool. After some searching I found an old copy of the apk I had laying around, but the app just gives me an error. Apparently they shut down the servers the app needs to communicate with. Reached out to support, and they basically told me to go f*** myself. The phone is barely 2 years old at this point, and they pulled all the firmware download links off the site for no good reason, and made it impossible to unlock the bootloader. Worst part is, the download links for the firmware still work, IF you can find them on the xda-forums. But they're outdated afaik. Won't be trusting ASUS with my money in the future. I hate that all companies have turned to this bullshit for no good reason. Let me own my own stuff for the love of god.
  3. Well that will hold great Just remember it needs cooling
  4. SSD At least a good m2. drive What's your budget and what's your motherboard?
  5. Yes very well, just make sure your storage and motherboard are up to the task
  6. I've got Backblaze for a trial. Is there config file I can manually edit to add a folder that's not getting backed up? I know there's no easy way, but is there any way at all?
  7. I'd do that if I wasn't using the B550I in a dan case. Only PCIe slot I have is for my gpu
  8. Yeah I've been looking for that, but all I get are laptop hubs with vga, ethernet ect
  9. Try re-seating your cpu. Take off the fan, make sure the thermal paste looks okay, take the cpu out and put it back in. Also, when you said you put everything back together, what do you mean by that. What parts did you change? You might just need a bios update?
  10. Budget (including currency): 100$ Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Charging, connecting hard drives and sd cards ect. USB stuff Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I have a MSI B550I motherboard with a USB 3.2 type C port at the back I'm not using. I want to get a hub that actually utilizes the speed of the port. I've been looking at this one from amazon (14 port from icybox) It's totally overkill, but I can get it cheaply from a wholesaler. And a 5 port one is about the same price. But does anyone have one they can recommend?
  11. Yeah that's a posibility too. But not really what I'm looking for. Full size display, but can be packed in a suitcase would be ideal. Thanks tho!
  12. Not viable for long combos of shorter trips
  13. Hmm yeah that's a good option actually
  14. Hey all! So I'm on my way to a land party in central Europe by train. I got my monitor packed away in it's original packaging. And I started thinking about other ways I could travel with my setup. Are there any travel monitors or monitors that can be easily packed in a large suitecase so I could fly with it? Doesn't need to be an actual travel monitor with built i n batteries n shit. Just something I could actually bring in a suitcase. (And obviously play games on it so hopefully 144hz+ and not 500ms response time) I'm probably not the first that has wanted to travel with my monitor so please tell me your experiences. Thank you
