  1. Thanks for replying. I know that the performance difference is small. It just feels weird/wrong to buy a card that has already bean replaced. I hope to play current and future games @ 1440p 100ish hz on near highest detail settings. Is either 2080 able to do that? or is the highly overpriced TI the only option for that?
  2. I recently built a new gaming pc minus the video card (onboard graphics atm) about a 1 1/2 - 2 months ago. Was going to buy a strix 2080 OC, Then the super was announced, so I waited. Almost pulled the trigger on a 2080 ti due running out of patience & getting frustrated. But $1200 is a lot of money. Should I buy the old 2080 since the super might not be in stock for at least a month. Since the TI has been out for almost a year, I really don't want to spend $1222 on one when a worthy successor with a more refined RTX will come out in a year. I'm planning on buying a 1440p 144hz monitor here soon. I play mainly fps, might venture to other genres later but idk. definitely waiting for doom eternal.
  3. Correct. A2 & B2. I also have the trident z in the same slots with no issues, so I don't think the slots are the issue.
  4. His is corsair vengeance as well. It also passed memtest, stress tests and other benchmarks. Showed no errors. Games are the only thing that crashed to desktop. Swapping his ram with my trident seemed to fix it. I know my suggestion isn't the best , you can't always just go and buy expensive ram to try. But if you can, I would try another brand and try to make sure it's Samsung chips. I hear AMD likes those the best. Also is your ram listed on the motherboard qvl list? Not required but it can help with compatibility. At any rate I do hope this is figured this out for you, problems like can be infuriating.
  5. My cousin and I are having similar issues, pc doesn't crash but games do. When you replaced the ram, was it the same ram kit? or a different one? If it was the same kit I would try a different brand. make sure it has Samsung chips in it. Maybe you can barrow some from a friend. We replaced his corsair ram with my Trident Z. it work for him, but have no idea why. I'm starting to suspect the memory controller of the amd chip.
  6. Hello everyone. I really need your help. Ok, here's the problem. My cousin just bought his first pc from IBuyPower. All his games: Battalion 1944, Fortnite, ect are crashing to desktop. pc seems fine. Powers through time spy, all unigine benchmarks fine. prime 95 & memtest as well, no errors. RAM is in the primary slots. His PSU brand is unknown, but it's a 600W gold plus . Also not sure of the brand of HDD either. Just chose items withe the same specs listed on the PO. Things we tried. >Reinstall nvidia driver w/ddu= nope >Reinstall windows= nope >update all drivers & bios (windows & 3rd party=nope >check bios settings & dram timings= all looks good. >reinstalled all games=nope >run games in admin=nope >lower graphics settings=nope >ran sfc scan=nope. The weird thing is, I swapped my trident z 3200 cl14 in his , adjusted timings( d.o.c.p) and everything seems to run perfectly. No crashing. I put the corsair in mine (home built) w/ Asus maximus hero wifi. Seems to work fine, no video card yet so can't test gamesbut p95, memtest & cinebench pass just fine. The corsair RAM he received is listed on the ASUS QVL list, Mine is not. Does anyone have any idea what would be the problem. Should he pay the shipping$50 and send it back for warranty? Just buy new ram? Or is there something else?
