  1. I installed the newest driver (442.19) and kept everything default on nvidia control panel. My idle temps are back to what they were before I made those control panel changes according to that video: https://imgur.com/a/QrqqDLQ GPU usage in BF5 still low but I think it came with the latest patch so whatever. I played like 20 minutes and I didn't really see worse performance, a few stuttering which was annoying but I'll see when I play more. By the way, do you usually change anything in the control panel or is there anything worth to change? Like on the "Adjust image settings with preview" should I put the prefered emphasizing from Quality to Performance?
  2. So, I wanna know, have you watched the vid I linked? Do you think those changes in the nvidia control panel make a difference in any way? Should I revert everything back to default?
  3. Hey! I got this PC last week, I upgraded from a 7 year old pre-built, haven't kept myself up-to-date with the newer hardwares for a long time so I'm in need of some help. So when everything was set to default when I installed windows 10, my gpu temp in idle mode was around 40-42 celsius, cpu went up to like ~45 then I always heard the fans spin up faster and then it fell to like ~37. I wanna preface this whole comment by saying that I am a complete beginner but I thought these temps were fine for an air cooled system. Even in gaming (CoD:MW, fullHD, 144hz, maxed graphics) I've not seen gpu go above 65-67 and around the same with cpu. Since then I started to look for ways to optimize my gpu and cpu and windows 10 so I made the following changes: turned win 10 game mode off and followed this youtube video step by step: Since I made these changes, the in game temperatures haven't changed (gpu still not seen above 67, cpu reaches 70 after a while but then I hear the fans spin up and it falls back to 64 or so) but the idle temps are higher, not necessarily for cpu but the gpu gets to 58-59 and then I hear the gpu fans spin up to cool it down to like 52-53. Also when this happens I hear some clicking noise from the case which I don't hear when the fans are spinning in gaming. Here is a picture of the temps after an hour of browsing the internet: https://imgur.com/a/Ogpye9L So basically my first question is, should I revert those changes made from the video and windows 10 game mode or is everything okay? 2.) Similar question for the CPU, the temps fluctuates all the time (idle: ~37-45, gaming ~60-70, not seen it above 70). When it reaches a higher value I hear the fans spin up, when I'm not gaming or listening to music I hear it as the PC is within arms reach at the moment. Is this normal? Also I've been told to create a custom fan curve but I have absolutely no idea how and what values to set them to and I'd need a step by step guide for it really. Is there anything out there? 3.) I wanna set my GPU fans to spin at like 20-30% even when it wouldn't spin otherwise so I don't hear the fans spin up when it reaches 58-59 in idle mode. How do I do that? 4.) I was told the RAM I bought was easily OC'd, sometimes even to 3600MHz at CL16. How do I do that? I just set them to DCOP profile in Bios but I was told I should probably do something with it manually. 5.) In BF5 my GPU usage is around 50-60%, sometimes even reaches mid 40s. When I first installed it I remember having it at near 100%. I tried lots of different in game settings but nothing really makes a difference and I don't know what changes I made that resulted in less GPU usage. I had 120+ fps in any situation in 64 player game modes (as much as I can remember) and now it sometimes falls below 100 too which I find it weird cause I'd think if my gpu usage was higher it could push more FPS. 6.) Any tips/recommendations on what I should do to optimize the PC in any way? That's it for now, if you read it all the way I appreciate it, same with any replies I get, thank you!
  4. Problem solved! Downloaded the latest driver from guru3d, used DDU then reinstalled the driver from guru3d and now it's working at 1935mhz! I had the same driver installed but on GPU-Z it said I had a DCH version (don't ask me what it means). Now that DCH is gone and it's working as intended! Super happy, although it came with a pretty loud coil whine which I'm not sure if it's harmful in any way but yea, I don't hear it if I'm gaming so yea...
  5. What do you mean? Sorry i'm a noob at hardwares and stuff. This card is supposed to boost up to 1815 but I've seen 1900+ on youtube.
  6. Says Idle as seen here: https://imgur.com/a/ZWZd63y edit: i just wanted to let you know I am a total noob when it comes to these kinda stuff so I'm not really sure what this all means.

My 2070 Super is running at 1605 MHz but I thought it should be able to do ~1815 or so? I'm on a fullHD 144hz monitor, vsync is off. Any idea? edit: Solved! See my comment below!
  8. Hey! I built a PC yesterday for the first time ever. Here is my new baby: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $324.99 @ Amazon CPU Cooler ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler $47.97 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard $164.99 @ B&H Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $74.99 @ Adorama Storage Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $109.99 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC 3X Video Card $499.99 @ Newegg Case Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case $77.98 @ Newegg Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $109.99 @ Amazon Case Fan ARCTIC P14 PWM PST 72.8 CFM 140 mm Fan $10.54 @ Amazon Case Fan ARCTIC P14 PWM PST 72.8 CFM 140 mm Fan $10.54 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1451.97 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1431.97 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-01-30 09:37 EST-0500 Before this I've been using a PC I bought in 2013 and I wasn't able to work or do any gaming on it anymore. Windows 10 is also new to me as I've been using Windows 7. My question is: is there a definitive way to optimize the performance of every piece of hardware in this new PC? If so, can you link me a written or video guide? I am completely new to these new hardwares/drivers/programs/benchmarks/etc and I feel kinda lost. I don't necessarily mean overclocking as I wanna run a very stable system. So far I downloaded the following programs: AI Suite 3, Cinebench, CPUID CPU-Z, Aida64 Extreme, HWiNFO64. The past few hours I've been looking at them but I can't really seem to figure out how to use them and what I can use them for really. Also, I wanna test my GPU and CPU to see if I "won the silicon lottery" or not. How could I do that exactly? Again, I'd appreciate a detailed (step by step) written or video guide on these. Thanks in advance!
  9. This might be the stupidest question but I'm gonna ask it anyways: A few shops in my country state the following Part #: N207SGAMING OC-8GD But then a lot of them have the same ID but has GV- in front of it so it looks like this: GV-N207SGAMING OC-8GD Is there any difference? I did look it up but couldn't find anything, pcpartpicker only has the GV- version and basically everywhere I look it has GV-. I just wanna make sure I buy the right version. I have a feeling they are the same, some shops just leave the GV part out for whatever reason. Thanks!
  10. I decided to go with yours, the Corsair RM650x! Also changed the case to Phanteks P400A and the RAM to Crucial Ballistix LT which can be OC'd to 3600 CL16 in some cases.
  11. Thanks for the list! I think I'll go with the build I originally planned just with a different PSU as everyone seems to be telling that it is a solid build. I'm gonna be using a fullHD monitor for a while too, maybe 6 months to a year even. By the time I upgrade to a 1440p monitor I'll be able to upgrade the GPU as well if needed.
  12. Yup, I'm gonna be looking at PSUs today and see which one is the best for me, I want my system to be as quiet as possible so maybe I'll go with the Straight Power. Thanks for your comment! How is your Corsair RM650x in terms of noise levels?
  13. amazon.de is around 10% more expensive but I'm curious where would you be able to cut the price to fit the 2080 super? And which brand of the 2080 super would you recommend?
  14. Hey! I'm planning to build a PC next week. Will eventually be using a 1440p 144hz 1ms monitor but for a few months I'll only be using a fullHD 144hz 1ms one. Mostly gaming, some streaming and very very rarely some light video editing. I'm from Hungary and prices here are very different to most places so I'm not sure how to set a budget, if I exchange hungarian currency to US $ my budget is around $1640 but it's not accurate at all so what I'd say is look at the list I came up with and if there is something better for the same price range let me know please! People have been helping me here a lot and on other forums as I've been planning this since last august, and I'm thinking of getting the following build: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $324.99 @ B&H CPU Cooler ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler $50.73 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard $164.99 @ B&H Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $72.98 @ Amazon Storage Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $87.99 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC 3X Video Card $499.99 @ Newegg Case Cooler Master MasterBox MB511 ATX Mid Tower Case $56.98 @ Newegg Power Supply SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $104.99 @ B&H Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1383.64 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1363.64 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-01-26 04:24 EST-0500 I wanted to make performance-oriented decisions, I don't really care about aesthetics so I said no to RGB as they are more expensive as well. I'm pretty much set on the CPU, 3600 was an option for a while but I think I wanna go with the 3700x. The CPU Cooler has pretty good reviews and they recommend it often in Hungary, it's also pretty cheap here. As for the motherboard, it's the part where I'm mostly undecided. Some say I'd be fine with a b450 tomahawk max but I think I kinda wanna go with a more future proof x570 and this particular one (Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus) had the best reviews in this budget range, other option was the Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite. I definitely wanna go with a 3200MHz memory, went with the Corsair Vengeance as they are well reviewed and is compatible with the motherboard. They are CL16 because CL14 are a lot more expensive here, same with 3600MHz. For storage, I'm good with just a 500GB one for now, Samsung 970 Evo is very well reviewed so I went with that. I definitely wanna go with an Nvidia card, 2070 Super is the way to go in this price range in my opinion and this particular one (Gigabyte Gaming OC 3X) has pretty good reviews everywhere and it's on the cheaper side of 2070 Supers here. For the longest time I thought I was gonna be fine with a 550W PSU but I was told I should get a 650W for this system and they aren't that much more expensive so I went with the Seasonic Focus Plus. I definitely wanna get a fully modular 80+ Gold certified PSU, I was recommended the Riotoro Enigma G2 too but I never heard of the brand before (probably because I'm not experienced yet). As for the case, I need one with really good airflow and around this price range. The CM MB511 has awesome reviews and has plenty of space to build which will be useful for me, as I'm gonna be building for the first time. I was recommended 2x front intake fans as well which apparently this case doesn't come with, only a rear one so I looked at these two Arctic P140 Bionix PWM PST or Arctic P14 PWM PST which aren't included in this pcpartpicker list, sorry for that. So that's it, I wanna know what you guys think about this build, could I get better parts for around the same price? Is everything compatible? On the pcpartpicker site on the bottom it has 2 notes for me: Note:The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it. Note:Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders. I have no idea what these mean so please help me. Thanks in advance! Buksi
  15. Yea looked it up, i'm still using USB-A type hardwares. Just wondering, how come they left it out of this card?
  16. GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING 3X OC 8GB GDDR6 (N207SGAMING OC-8GD) -> is this one good?
  17. Hey! I'm looking to buy this card early september. I've been mostly looking at the 5700 XT for a long time but seeing as there are some driver issues still and people are having certain problems with those cards I thought I'd look for a better option. What do you guys think? What's your experience with this card? Gonna pair it with a 3700x CPU, using a fullHD 144hz monitor for now but gonna switch to 1440p next year. Thanks in advance! PS.: let me know if you know a better card for this price budget.
  18. How come people not recommending PowerColor Red Devil? I thought it was the best that was released so far.
  19. Nice PSU tier list! Is there any difference between Bitfenix Whisper M and the one on the list where it doesn't say M? Sorry for the noob question haha. Maybe it's the same thing. Which RAM? Any of those from the list or the one I linked with pcpartpicker? Just checked out the Cooler Master Masterbox MB511 (non RGB version) and it's really cheap compared to the other cases we've been talking about. Do you think I should be great with that? Mastercase H500 looks absolutely amazing to me but it is literally twice the price of the MB511 which I don't want to pay for now, as I said I don't care about aesthetics and RGB, still the MB511 looks great to me. So I guess the Gibabyte X570 Gaming X is good enough with this build? Am I gonna have to upgrade that in 1-2 years time when I'll be upgrading to a top tier GPU and maybe even upgrade the 3700x? This Gaming X is the cheapest out of the ones I've mentioned so yea. Dang, I'm getting close to finalizing the end product here, this is getting exciting! Thanks guys!
  20. Looks like my case problems are solved, gonna go with the Fractal Design Meshify C then, although the Coolermaster Masterbox MB511 RGB Mastercase H500 is somewhat cheaper in my country. So I wanna know what the difference is between the Gigabyte X570 Gaming X and the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE or the ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboards. Around this time next year I'll most likely be upgrading to a top top GPU so I want a motherboard with that in mind but still be in this budget. As for the RAM, there is non for sale in my country of those Team T-Force Vulcan, looked everywhere. I looked at the following RAMs so far that are purchasable: https://www.arukereso.hu/memoria-modul-c3577/f:kapacitas-16-gb,memoria-tipusa-ddr4,3200-mhz,memoriakesleltetes-cl-16,memoriakesleltetes-cl-14,dual-channel-kiszereles/ The ones around 30 000 Ft are in my budget. As for the PSU, I read some bad things about Corsair ones, not sure though... In my country they recommend that BitFenix Whisper M a lot. Also that Intel SSD is so so expensive here, everyone is buying that Samsung Evo 970. Thanks for the help guys!
  21. The following build is what I'm planning to purchase next month, still got time to switch things around but thanks to this forum and some others I - as a hardware noob - have been able to put together this so far (let me know if you'd change something though!): PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $329.00 @ B&H Motherboard Gigabyte X570 GAMING X ATX AM4 Motherboard $169.99 @ Amazon Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $84.99 @ Best Buy Storage Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $89.89 @ OutletPC Case NZXT H500 ATX Mid Tower Case $69.99 @ Best Buy Power Supply BitFenix Whisper M 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $743.86 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-08-14 07:58 EDT-0400 (Will probably need a somewhat cheaper but great CPU cooler, for motherboards I've been thinking about the more expensive GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE or the ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS too but I have no idea about motherboards so will have to look them up, haven't decided on the RAM either, I know I want 3200MHz CL16 for this budget, not set on case either as I only want good functionality (airflow, cable management, etc), don't care too much about aesthetics and RGB, and as for the PSU I want a higher power one so I won't have to upgrade it in a year or two when I want to upgrade something) So what I have left in my budget is around $800 for the GPU. What would you guys recommend? I'll switch to 1440p 144Hz 1ms monitor later this year or early next year so I want to get a GPU with that in mind but for now I'll use a 1080p 144Hz 1ms monitor. Thanks in advance!
  22. Yes I meant CPU, sorry. Sometimes I get confused or side tracked for a second as I created a doc file with all the potential parts and I write down the price of all of them daily just to see in what way they're changing. I agree with the PSU, get a better one now and I won't have to upgrade it when I decide to get a new CPU or GPU. The MB you recommended is the Gigabyte X570 Gaming X, the 2 other X570 ones I mentioned are like ~$35 more expensive. I will have to look into what they have to offer and what features they have that I need or not need. I mentioned those two X570 cards because earlier today I watched a vid about MBs and in the end they recommended those. At 20:07 he recommends those 2 cards if you wanna watch the vid, maybe you have already seen it. I didn't understand much about what he said throughout the vid but according to the graphs those 2 came out the best for their price I guess. (the cooler the better (?)) I'll get a 144hz 1ms fullHD monitor next month as well, i have never seen a 144hz monitor in use, not even 75hz, so I heard once you see the smoothness of 144hz you can't really go back which I'm not planning to! The budget for this full HD monitor is around ~$210 but again prices are different here. I was recommended this site and on the recommended tab I found the AOC C24G1 which fits my budget perfectly and sounds nice with the 144hz 1ms and freesynch. But to be honest I haven't looked much into monitors lately, will definitely ask around for more advice regarding this. What I want is 144hz 1ms and freesynch or gsynch capability. Other than that I've heard some things about ghosting and other problems, obviously I want one without any of those issues. What I will end up doing is wait for all the custom 5700XT cards and see which one works the best and will probably end up with that for the next 1-2 years, shouldn't be a bad choice especially for fullHD gaming for a while. But still as I said I got a month left so who knows what's gonna happen. Again I can only thank you so much for your info and help! Thank you!
