  1. I installed the newest driver (442.19) and kept everything default on nvidia control panel. My idle temps are back to what they were before I made those control panel changes according to that video: https://imgur.com/a/QrqqDLQ GPU usage in BF5 still low but I think it came with the latest patch so whatever. I played like 20 minutes and I didn't really see worse performance, a few stuttering which was annoying but I'll see when I play more. By the way, do you usually change anything in the control panel or is there anything worth to change? Like on the "Adjust image settings with preview" should I put the prefered emphasizing from Quality to Performance?
  2. So, I wanna know, have you watched the vid I linked? Do you think those changes in the nvidia control panel make a difference in any way? Should I revert everything back to default?
  3. Hey! I got this PC last week, I upgraded from a 7 year old pre-built, haven't kept myself up-to-date with the newer hardwares for a long time so I'm in need of some help. So when everything was set to default when I installed windows 10, my gpu temp in idle mode was around 40-42 celsius, cpu went up to like ~45 then I always heard the fans spin up faster and then it fell to like ~37. I wanna preface this whole comment by saying that I am a complete beginner but I thought these temps were fine for an air cooled system. Even in gaming (CoD:MW, fullHD, 144hz, maxed graphics) I've not seen gpu go above 65-67 and around the same with cpu. Since then I started to look for ways to optimize my gpu and cpu and windows 10 so I made the following changes: turned win 10 game mode off and followed this youtube video step by step: Since I made these changes, the in game temperatures haven't changed (gpu still not seen above 67, cpu reaches 70 after a while but then I hear the fans spin up and it falls back to 64 or so) but the idle temps are higher, not necessarily for cpu but the gpu gets to 58-59 and then I hear the gpu fans spin up to cool it down to like 52-53. Also when this happens I hear some clicking noise from the case which I don't hear when the fans are spinning in gaming. Here is a picture of the temps after an hour of browsing the internet: https://imgur.com/a/Ogpye9L So basically my first question is, should I revert those changes made from the video and windows 10 game mode or is everything okay? 2.) Similar question for the CPU, the temps fluctuates all the time (idle: ~37-45, gaming ~60-70, not seen it above 70). When it reaches a higher value I hear the fans spin up, when I'm not gaming or listening to music I hear it as the PC is within arms reach at the moment. Is this normal? Also I've been told to create a custom fan curve but I have absolutely no idea how and what values to set them to and I'd need a step by step guide for it really. Is there anything out there? 3.) I wanna set my GPU fans to spin at like 20-30% even when it wouldn't spin otherwise so I don't hear the fans spin up when it reaches 58-59 in idle mode. How do I do that? 4.) I was told the RAM I bought was easily OC'd, sometimes even to 3600MHz at CL16. How do I do that? I just set them to DCOP profile in Bios but I was told I should probably do something with it manually. 5.) In BF5 my GPU usage is around 50-60%, sometimes even reaches mid 40s. When I first installed it I remember having it at near 100%. I tried lots of different in game settings but nothing really makes a difference and I don't know what changes I made that resulted in less GPU usage. I had 120+ fps in any situation in 64 player game modes (as much as I can remember) and now it sometimes falls below 100 too which I find it weird cause I'd think if my gpu usage was higher it could push more FPS. 6.) Any tips/recommendations on what I should do to optimize the PC in any way? That's it for now, if you read it all the way I appreciate it, same with any replies I get, thank you!
  4. Problem solved! Downloaded the latest driver from guru3d, used DDU then reinstalled the driver from guru3d and now it's working at 1935mhz! I had the same driver installed but on GPU-Z it said I had a DCH version (don't ask me what it means). Now that DCH is gone and it's working as intended! Super happy, although it came with a pretty loud coil whine which I'm not sure if it's harmful in any way but yea, I don't hear it if I'm gaming so yea...
  5. What do you mean? Sorry i'm a noob at hardwares and stuff. This card is supposed to boost up to 1815 but I've seen 1900+ on youtube.
  6. Says Idle as seen here: https://imgur.com/a/ZWZd63y edit: i just wanted to let you know I am a total noob when it comes to these kinda stuff so I'm not really sure what this all means.

Today I installed a game for the first time on it (CoD: MW) and also installed MSI Afterburner with Rivatuner Statistics to see the cpu and gpu temp and speed values in game. My 2070 Super is running at 1605 MHz but I thought it should be able to do ~1815 or so? I'm on a fullHD 144hz monitor, vsync is off. Any idea? edit: Solved! See my comment below!
  8. Hey! I built a PC yesterday for the first time ever. Here is my new baby: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $324.99 @ Amazon CPU Cooler ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler $47.97 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard $164.99 @ B&H Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $74.99 @ Adorama Storage Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $109.99 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC 3X Video Card $499.99 @ Newegg Case Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case $77.98 @ Newegg Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $109.99 @ Amazon Case Fan ARCTIC P14 PWM PST 72.8 CFM 140 mm Fan $10.54 @ Amazon Case Fan ARCTIC P14 PWM PST 72.8 CFM 140 mm Fan $10.54 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1451.97 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1431.97 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-01-30 09:37 EST-0500 Before this I've been using a PC I bought in 2013 and I wasn't able to work or do any gaming on it anymore. Windows 10 is also new to me as I've been using Windows 7. My question is: is there a definitive way to optimize the performance of every piece of hardware in this new PC? If so, can you link me a written or video guide? I am completely new to these new hardwares/drivers/programs/benchmarks/etc and I feel kinda lost. I don't necessarily mean overclocking as I wanna run a very stable system. So far I downloaded the following programs: AI Suite 3, Cinebench, CPUID CPU-Z, Aida64 Extreme, HWiNFO64. The past few hours I've been looking at them but I can't really seem to figure out how to use them and what I can use them for really. Also, I wanna test my GPU and CPU to see if I "won the silicon lottery" or not. How could I do that exactly? Again, I'd appreciate a detailed (step by step) written or video guide on these. Thanks in advance!
  9. This might be the stupidest question but I'm gonna ask it anyways: A few shops in my country state the following Part #: N207SGAMING OC-8GD But then a lot of them have the same ID but has GV- in front of it so it looks like this: GV-N207SGAMING OC-8GD Is there any difference? I did look it up but couldn't find anything, pcpartpicker only has the GV- version and basically everywhere I look it has GV-. I just wanna make sure I buy the right version. I have a feeling they are the same, some shops just leave the GV part out for whatever reason. Thanks!
  10. I decided to go with yours, the Corsair RM650x! Also changed the case to Phanteks P400A and the RAM to Crucial Ballistix LT which can be OC'd to 3600 CL16 in some cases.
  11. Thanks for the list! I think I'll go with the build I originally planned just with a different PSU as everyone seems to be telling that it is a solid build. I'm gonna be using a fullHD monitor for a while too, maybe 6 months to a year even. By the time I upgrade to a 1440p monitor I'll be able to upgrade the GPU as well if needed.
  12. Yup, I'm gonna be looking at PSUs today and see which one is the best for me, I want my system to be as quiet as possible so maybe I'll go with the Straight Power. Thanks for your comment! How is your Corsair RM650x in terms of noise levels?
  13. amazon.de is around 10% more expensive but I'm curious where would you be able to cut the price to fit the 2080 super? And which brand of the 2080 super would you recommend?
