  1. Looking up the 3060 versus 2060 Super online, they seem to perform about the same, they even trade price tags on the second hand market so I might be able to get a 3060 at a relatively agreeable price. Thanks of the help igormp!
  2. Yeah that's my issue. I did see the link and it was quite informative, thanks for that. I may end up purchaing the 3050 due to it being the cheapest of the lot and having 8GB of VRAM, yet 2060 will produce the most performance. I could attempt to overclock a 3050 to match the 2060's performance. Though I don't know how successful that'll be.
  3. TLDR yes, see comment above (sorry for the doublepost).
  4. I will be using tensowflow for Neutral Networks and Natural Language Processing, hence why I'm limiting myself to RTX GPUs. So TLDR yes.
  5. Good day, So i'm in a bit of a bind. I've got a dissertation that is quite reliant on Deep Learning. Because of this i've taken the opportunity to have my own machine for Deep Learning. I've already purchased a second hand server (a HP Z420, 64 gigs of Ram, 1tb ssd, 4tb (2x2) hdd, E5-1650v2 CPU) that has the sufficent specifications for the sort of data structures i'll be dealing with. But I need to select a GPU sufficent for what I will be doing in my dissertation. I've selected out of a cohort of GPUs the RTX 2060 and newly released RTX 3050. Those two have been chosen as they are the least expensive relative to the rest of the GPUs relevant for Deep Learning while being powerful enough to suit my computational needs. Thing is I can't decide between the two. While the RTX 3050 has the most CUDA cores, it only has 80 tensor cores while the RTX 2060 has just under 2k core cores (while the RTX 3050 has 2.5k-ish cuba cores) but has over 100 Tensor cores. Additionally a base RTX 3050 comes with 8GB while a base RTX 2060 only comes with 6GB, and the 8GB version is marketed at a higher price (450-ish for the 6GB version, 530-ish for the 8GB). My research upon my issue resulted in little results. So appealing to this forum: Which one should I purchase? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hello! I'm attempting to find the official specification sheet for the Nvidia RTX 2060 Max-Q Mobile GPU. Currently, I have not found what I am looking for. Could one of you point out where I need to look? i remember Nvidia having a section of their webiste dedicated to the specifications of their GPUs, however I can no longer find that section on their website. Stay safe, Imperatoris.
  7. Hello! I'm in the middle of getting everything ready for my move over to University. Aside from freelancing and a part time job, I am wondering whether it may be smart to crypto mine a few types of coins? The idea is to purchase a server case capable of accommodating around 8 GPUs (or more), buy 8 efficient - recommended for mining - cards, use the Asrock H110 motherboard with a compatible Celeron CPU and 4 gigs of ram, set it up, then colocate the server and manage it remotely. I'm not dead set on the idea, I do think it is a good idea, however I could be talking a load of rubbish. Thoughts? Thanks.
