Does this mean that as a 2nd gen Maxwell the 980ti has hardware decoding for HEVC? It could be a driver issue then. I will retest with various files.

Hello, Is anyone aware and/or tested hardware decoding of HEVC codec on GTX 980ti? I have a pc with i7 4790k and 980ti as a media center/living room gaming pc and i think it used to be better are playing large 4k 10bit x265 movies which are common now. The computer struggles with high CPU usage when playing and i don't remember it being this way before. I could be mistaken about it having hardware support for decoding and sources online are conflicting since when the card came out the codec was not as widely used as now. Nowadays even new CPUs (intel 6th gen+) do hardware decoding but mine is an otherwise solid 4th gen i7.
