SSD read speeds <1MB/s but still has fast writes, is it dying?

Thank you for all the help but i just checked it after the format since it started being weird again and uuuuhhh.... I'm just pulling the drive. -
SSD read speeds <1MB/s but still has fast writes, is it dying?

So there is a risk of this happening again unless i reimage the disk every so often? hhmm maybe not worth the risk keeping it in use -
SSD read speeds <1MB/s but still has fast writes, is it dying?
chriswills replied to chriswills's topic in Storage Devices
So i spent 2 days (very slowly!) rescuing data from it before checking for bad blocks in HDDScan, thousands of them had >500ms timing before it even reached 1% scanned. I gave it a quick format and everything seems to be back to normal, crystaldiskmark is reporting >500MB/s reads and no more bad blocks. Anything i can do in future to avoid this happening again? -
SSD read speeds <1MB/s but still has fast writes, is it dying?

Forgot to mention i did a crystal disk info check and everything was good, for now I've had to pull the SSD just to get some work done since it was making the system really unstable (boot and shutdown times were easily 10x longer). I'll try the full surface read on it later, thanks. -
I have a cheap 2tb SATA based SSD that i never should have bought, its about 2 years old with daily use. Today the sequential read speeds on the drive plummeted from ~500MB/s to <1MB/s but nothing has changed in write speeds. Below are some consecutive crystaldiskmark results. I've tried pushing the SATA cable back into place on both ends. Is the drive dying? what can i do?

Over last few weeks, at random points i will have either a complete crash (no blue screen, no error message) or just a total freeze up and forced shut down, then on reboot i will have no display output until i force a reboot several more times or leave PC off for a few hours and come back. I'm worried it may be a dead/dying GPU as i have a new 5700xt in there, but that performed fine for weeks and has zero issues in games. New corsair 850x PSU to match. Temperatures are all fine under load and CPU/GPU stress tested. Tried re-seating the graphics card, updating windows, disk checks, windows RAM checks, SFC /scannow, setting RAM to stock speeds and i did a complete clean and reinstall of the graphics drivers. I have loads of error messages about 'WMI service terminated unexpectedly and 'Failed to start service WMS. Program C:\Windows\wmu3\wlanext.exe couldn't be launched' in event viewer. The required error reports and performance monitoring are here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ptPNdr0H9FUtU5KXvEJo2GZxUotEVVmr?usp=sharing OS - Windows 10 64bit OS came from windows insider program and then backed out to mainstream builds ? Everything a couple of years old other than new GPU/PSU/CPU Cooler AOS reinstalled when CPU/MB changed a year or so ago CPU- Ryzen 2600 with 360mm AIO cooler with 6 fans attached at 4.0ghz GPU - Radeon 5700xt, powercolor red dragon MB - ASUS B450-plus prime ATX RAM - Corsair vengeance 3133mhz at 3200mhz PSU - corsair 850x Boot Drive - WD BLACK nVME SSD 3 HDD's for storage 1 to 5tb Thank you in advance!

I would like to attach a 240mm radiator with high static pressure fans to the front of my case that already has a couple of RGB air flow fans as an intake for a push/pull config. Air flow would go as follows: front of case > RGB air flow fans as intake > 240mm radiator > high static pressure fans pulling air through radiator into case. Would this affect the function of either sets of fans or increase noise more than just adding two more fans would normally? I'm not expecting better cooling performance than only having the two static pressure radiator fans, I would just like to keep the RGB at the front of the case

I have a saphire rx580 4gb that occasionally flickers the screen when i'm not gaming. Its very quick and happens maybe once every 30 seconds for a few minutes and then goes for a few hours. Tried a fresh install of newest graphics drivers but no change. Someone suggested it may be due to AMD wattman changing the gpu modes but i don't know how to amend that. other pc specs: asus b450 plus ryzen 5 2600 8gb hyperx DDR4- 240gb WD black nvme SSD + 1tb HDD EVGA 500w psu

I'm running two 4gb DIMMs on an ASUS B450 PLUS motherboard, I want to upgrade to 16gb. Do I buy one 8gb stick leaving room for another in future or buy two more 4gb sticks to run in quad channel? The DIMMs will be identical to the existing DDR4 HyperX 2400MHz sticks, the only thing that will change would be the size if i go with 1x8gb. thanks!

the problem with two single switches is im using the same sources on both screens, eg. gaming pc going into monitor or the tv for relaxed couch gaming. but that one you suggested might do it, if a little expensive

Anyone know of a HDMI switch that can send to multiple outputs? I have a tv and a monitor and would like to be able to display multiple sources on each using a single switch. Thanks for the help

WiFi issues after new monitor (no im not stupid)
chriswills replied to chriswills's topic in Networking
right so ive decided to just go ahead and keep the monitor since my setup with the monitors reversed is working just fine, i will invest in a gold plated shielded cable if people think that will work. thanks! -

chriswills replied to chriswills's topic in Networking
yes it sit directly between the two, the thing is that the previous monitor sat in same place and caused no issues, and now that i have switched my dual monitor setup around the other one isnt causing these issues either, so must be something particular to the new one -
