Oh Nana's Achievements

  1. Any recommendations for a good stand to elevate this case off the floor. Replaced a much smaller case that sat on a lightweight adjustable case stand that will not cut it for this wide and heavy case. Rather minimize carpet intake from the bottom and not impact air flow.
  2. I just recently built a new PC (Ryzen 3700x with 2070 Super) and am looking to upgrade from HD gaming on my two 1080p 24" monitors. I'd like to upgrade to at least 1440p (not sure I need 4K) . I am looking to max spend about 500-600 US$ and not sure I could get two monitors for that price. Would mixing a 1440p 27" with one of the 1080p 24" be frustrating? I do like being able to play full screen on one monitor and have a second screen to show discord, spotify, youtube. Been playing Modern Warfare, Anno 1800, World of Warcraft, Witcher 3 currently. I have considered a 30"+ monitor since I think something like Anno would look awesome on it, but not sure playing Modern Warfare and Witcher would be as good.
  3. Well I think there was a bit of a gap between the case and the stand off previously on at least one standoff. I also found that the case had one wire tie (front case fans) that I replaced with velcro which was behind the pcb (right panel side of case). Not sure if either of them have totally resolved issue. Fingers crossed.
  4. I have been troubleshooting a short circuit issue and took the motherboard out of the case. I checked the motherboard standoffs into the case and found i could tighten them further with a nut driver as opposed to tightening that I had done with motherboard supplied tool. Could the gap in the standoff to the case cause the short? I haven't put the motherboard back into the case yet.
  5. Since removing the dust filter i can basically touch the case anywhere and no issues. I don't know if I totally resolved the short issue. But the removal of the filter has seemingly mitigated things. Since I use the top fans as exhaust I feel the filter may not be as needed.
  6. My UPS is APC Backups. I think I have isolated it to touching the removable magnetic dust filter on the top of the case. I have never had one before but could the filter on top of metal case be an issue? I searched to see if anyone else had similar issue but didn't find anything.
  7. When I touch the left side of the case (with glass panel) it resets. I did place the 9 motherboard standoffs in the case (2 were already installed) and lined the motherboard up with them when screwing in. I am going to try another outlet and different UPS to see if there might be an issue there.
  8. I recently put together a new build and things run fine unless I touch the case and then it reboots. I assume there must be a short circuit or power supply issue. Testing the power supply seems to show good voltage and I don't see any of the motherboard screws outside the circle. What else might cause a short? MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x with stock AMD Wraith Prism cooler (CPU_Fan connector) GPU: EVGA 2070 Super XC Gaming PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 (80 Plus Gold) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB 3600 Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500 Fans: 2 200mm front (CPU_Opt connector) 1 120mm fan rear of case(Sys Fan 1 connector) 1 140mm fan top of case (Sys Fan 2 connector) Should I disconnect fans (other than CPU) and see if they might be an issue? Remove the 2070 Super and try onboard video?
  9. I did a new build and things seemed great, but if I touched my PC it rebooted. So I figured something was not grounded (ie motherboard standoffs) or possibly the power supply. So I decided to first test the power supply. EVGA 850G3 power supply. When I connected the motherboard cable (power supply MB port - tester 24 pin) and the CPU (power supply CPU1 - test 8 pin) it shows the voltages below. They seem within norms, but it repeatedly beeps every second or so. Is that normal? or does it indicate a voltage issue.
  10. You mention new video cards coming out...when is that estimated? I know AMD just released theirs over summer(5700\5700 XT) and Nvidia the supers. Are more due soon? or we talking like end of 2020?
  11. US, Windows 10. They have 2 24" monitors, but might add a 3rd. No need for a keyboard or mouse since they can re-use what they have there.
  12. i3 - 4150, 1050ti, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD drive and 1 TB SATA drive. Well over due for new build.
  13. Looking to put together a PC for a friend who uses Blender\Maya (video), FL (audio) and some 1440p gaming like Witcher 3, Star Wars. They might do some streaming. I was figuring around 1500 would be max. They don't need a monitor, keyboard or mouse, but everything else is in play. Not sure if AMD is better value than Intel or Nvidia. They have two monitors currently, but might want to add a 3rd.
  14. Looking for a good case for air cooling. Considering a Ryzen 3600 or or i7-9700k with either of Noctua or DarkPro 4 air cooler. Not interested in AIO at this point. Not looking to spend over 200 US$...much lower if possible.
  15. Probably can save $100 or so off build by changing storage. Does a 2070 Super make sense? or could I go 2070 or 2060 Super? I like the price of 5700 XT but not a fan of the cooling on the AMD cards and hoping for 3rd party cards soon.
