Thanks, that's what I was going for. I'm in a rental and my room I use for my office has this horrible double-bank of dodgy 2 CFL tube lights (4 in total) across the whole span of the cieling. In summer the place just cooks. My primary goal beyond the bling was also getting some decent overhead light in the room.

    I officially love this.

Thanks for all the validation folks

So in the end I took another vid with a more sane colour scheme I've started using day to day. Far brighter, more white with a splash of light blue. Also chucked in some footage of the PC for good measure.

So, recently I have been on an evolving and ultimately self-defeating journey that started with a cheap LED strips behind the desk, moved onto a completely new PC build with RGB RAM, AIO, Case Fans, GPU, Motherboard, Lian Li Strimer Cables, RGB Peripherals, and eventually led to a sick and warped obsession with Philips Hue.

Suffice to say this week I finally tumbled down the rabbit-hole that is Nanoleaf. My question to you good folks... Am I a complete cliche at this point? Am I a beyond help? Does the blue/purple theme I've intended to evoke imagery of space and nebulae look more like a thai brothel? I must know.

Loved the setup. I like purple/white. My PC case is a display cabinet right now with lightshows going on. I'd love to have your setup. Except the panel behind the monitor though, not sure if it's too bright against the monitors.

Certainly looks well done, but hard to tell without viewing it with the screens on and showing different typical tasks.
Don't want too much contrast to stress eyes and self.
And it may need or benefit from a well controled high CRI white on the desk immediately in front of the monitors, without any getting on the monitors nor too bright compared to the monitors.

Also, turns out you can have some fun with Hue Sync too ?

So here we are, PC on the desk! Lighting all synced, applications installing... Very happy with how this project has turned out. Now I get to come home to this after work:

I'll admit I went a little cray on the RGB, but it can be tamed... I think. The RGB power extensions might have been a little excessive. I just love it when the GPU spins and lights up once a game starts pushing some voltage through the card. Really feeling like I made the right decision with a vertical mount.

The last thing I'm pleased turned out as a completely unintentional but happy accident was having enough Corsair lighting strips to replace the ghetto LED under-desk lighting I was previously using. Having them flick on with my PC in one go and be software controlled is really nice.

Next plan of attack is an Occulus Rift S. I need my Beat Saber on PC.

It's been a a bit over three years since I've upgraded my own personal rig and also really the last time I really built a PC for anyone.

My goal with this build was to put together a solid foundation that will last me 3-4 years at least, as well as take advantage of some nice-to-haves like M2 drives and a bit of a lightshow to fit in with my battlestation setup (The current PC is just boring.).

I'm actually investing a lot in bling at the cost of extra performance, For instance I decided the RTX 2070 Super was a nice sweet-spot for me in terms of price-to-performance and I didn't see any need in going any higher.
i7 9700k Corsair Crystal 680x Case MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard 32GB DDR 3200 Corsair Vengeance RAM  Aorus RTX 2070 Super Samsung Evo 970 Pro NVME system drive Unicorn vomit Plenty of firsts for me.: First M2 drive installation, first vertical GPU mount,... I did my homework on vertical mounting and realised that even though my case had a vertical mounting slot, considering the size of my card I would need better bracing and better airflow instead of having the card flush-up against the glass. Knowing this, I invested in one of the mounting kits people buy for more basic cases and installed that.
    .
So, build day arrives... Time to chuck up a trestle-table in the lounge as a ghetto workbench and get to work...

System's not complete yet. It got to 4.00am last night and I decided to just shove the sea of wiring in the back chamber, close everything up and make sure it still posted.

Apologies for the unicorn-blood-fueled disco-inferno acid-trip nightmare, but I haven't had a chance to get Windows installed let-alone Mystic Light or iCue. I promise some much tamer and more tasteful glamour shots once I get everything fixed up and on the desk with peripherals.

I'll definitely be doing some cable clean-up too, in a couple weeks when I add some mass storage.

    More updates forthcoming! Cheers

lianli uses a jst-sm connector so you would need an adapter cable to attach that to your mb header but the only cables i can find are in a packaged and are $15+
    i found this
if you wanted to add the lianli to your corsair then you need another custom cable
i don't no what a light box is? if its just stranded connector 2+1 and want it on corsair this should work or this

if you only have 1 argb mb header and 2 devices you will need a slitter or hub but all attached to it will all get the same effect
f you only have 1 argb mb header and 2 devices and want each to have its only color or w/e each will need its own header. so you will need a usb controller or more then 1 argb header.

    OK, mine:

    1. FireFox is still the best web browser.
    2. If you have the space in your case, it's still good to have a large amount of spinning drives for mass storage instead of just relying on a NAS.
    3. For 99.999% of people, overclocking is functionally pointless for all but the most moderate of performance gains and the extra power/heat/instability risk isn't worth the effort.
    4. Unicorn-vomit RGB is like a beautiful untamed stallion of disco inferno and anyone who disagrees will never have the soul of a poet..
