IIGodlikemode reacted to kieguru in Monitor doesnt stay at 144 hz at native res
If you're using an HDMI cable, try a DP or DVI cable and see if that helps. As for the screen tearing, you need to make sure that your GPU is able to constantly push out 144fps in the games you're playing, the refresh of your monitor past 60hz is only as fast as how many frames your GPU can draw.

yeah when the game opens the ssd goes to 20% and then stays at 0% the whole time while playing

IIGodlikemode reacted to PlayStation 2 in Display 144 hz but dxdiag says native 60hz?
Generally speaking, Windows isn't very good about identifying monitors. It'll generally throw up 60Hz as the default refresh rate largely as a just-in-case measure. So long as you can run your shit at 144Hz, it really shouldn't be an issue.

That's just a problem with DXDiag if it can't read the refresh rate of the monitor it just says 60hz as defualt, nothing to wory about. As long as it's set to 144hz in display settings as well as Nvidia control panel you're good.

Knowing the case and motherboard you're using might help in telling you what it is.

What game are you playing when you notice the CPU usage spike up to 90%, and the low GPU usage? Make sure your CPU isn't overheating, and maybe try using the stock settings on your CPU, to make sure your overclock isn't the problem.

68 shouldn't be a problem, how much is it under aida64 after a while?
and I'm more worried about your psu choice here...

IIGodlikemode reacted to Brent744 in Help with VRM temps
Yes I believe that to be your VRM's (VR). Those temps should still be fine. I used to have a B350M (AM4) board and the system wouldn't crash until my VRM's were hitting 77C.
The frame drops wouldn't have anything to do with your VRM temps. It can be caused by a number of different things. I would monitor your cpu and gpu utilization percentage. I used to have a Ryzen 7 1700 and while playing PUBG the chip would randomly downclock itself while under heavy load, causing a significant drop in frames.
Does the drop in frames happen to a number of different applications or only one?
