  1. Considering the 2600 as I’ve heard over locking it you can get performance very similar to the X variant.
  2. Awesome. Thanks for the advice all. i play a lot of Train Simulator 2020 which I believe is a very CPU intensive game. How would the 1060 3gb pair with a Ryzen 5 2600?
  3. Looking at an i7 4790 at a decent price. I’ve got a system with an i7 2600 at the moment, paired with a GTX 1060 3gb. Would there be much of a benefit upgrading to the 4790? It’s a used motherboard combo. My other idea is sticking with the 2600 that I’ve already got an upgrading the GPU instead. Not sure which route would be best.
  4. How do I close a topic? ? Literally typing this off the system with the 1050 in. Not sure why I couldn't get it working yesterday, not even sure what I've done now to get it working. One of those mysteries!
  5. Didn't think of that. I will give it a go, thank you.
  6. Taken a GTX 1050 from another system in the house to replace a 660 in an Optiplex machine. The machine has a 550 watt PSU installed. I get no display from the 1050 and the fans do not spin. Do the PCI slots not provide enough power? The card does work and the 660 worked with the 6 pin power connector in the same slot on the board.
  7. Was a windows update issue, resolved myself. Thank you.
  8. I'm already aware of that, smartass. However, I am having system issues clearly as I explained. For someone who knows it all, you don't know a lot.
  9. I used EaseUS ToDo backup and it worked fine the first time I transferred a windows installation to this drive. I can try again with that program?
  10. I've got windows 10 installed on the PC that I'm typing this from, and I've cloned this drive and put it onto the SSD in my other PC. I've got an issue where when booted from the SSD on this same Windows installation, it gets to the desktop, everything seems fine then it randomly crashes. It will then start working again for a few seconds and then crash again. This can happen a couple of times before the PC just restarts. I've copied the installation over to this same SSD previously and it was working fine. I just cannot run this cloned Windows install off the SSD without these crashing problems.
  11. I've not actually touched any of the mounting for the board in the Optiplex system, its exactly as it was when I bought it. I have swapped the graphics card out though, could it be something damaged on the case itself? I could have easily knocked something I suppose.
  12. I'll remove the motherboard and have a poke around, see if I can see anything that's not right. You think it could be something to do with the mounting of the board, the screws maybe?
