  1. The outrage isn't about people assuming that LMG tries to scam anyone. The outrage is that LMG is showing the same kind of behavior that they accused companies of for years. Then they make fun of the people who basically said "Hey LMG, please live up to your own standards." and what's even worse: Linus really seems to believe that he is the victim here. The funny thing is: there are no victims here. Criticism has no victims. Everything about that thing was just really tone deaf but instead of now doing the right thing and publicly coming through with this, they do nothing...which they also accused companies of for years. And I am not talking about the fact that they added a warranty. It's not about the warranty. It's about living up to the standards you have set for others. Everything about this affair had a bad taste to it and it is just irritating to see.
  2. TBH: I have never seen Linus so out of touch with customers as it has happened with the whole warranty thing. He acted exactly the opposite of what he has been preaching throughout his YT career. And then he even goes on to play the victim. The deal was never "trust for trust". The deal was "my time and value in sold ads for LTT's efforts in making good videos." I am not going to do the whole "I am not going to watch LTT" ever again thing...but damn sure will I be careful whenever they advertise their products from now on.
  3. So I finally had the time to watch all episodes of Scrapyard Wars Season 8 and after watching them all, I thought I might give my opinion here in order to see if I am alone with what I think about it. Tbh, I didn't think it was good. Scrapyard Wars has always been (at least for me) about the hunt and tension behind it. It has always been about finding the components, trying to get the best deals and combinations and then just praying and bug fixing while building the systems. This time, it felt like you missed this totally. At the end, almost every system has been a pre-build where some components where swapped. You all decided to skip the hurdle of the table and chair situation (which was a nice idea) by just not giving a f**k about what you ended up with. I also think that the teams where too big. A lot of times the tension in past Scrapyard Wars came from trying to get to a deal in time and organizting all pick ups. But with 3 guys per team, you basically got rid of this. Don't get me wrong: I love LTT, I love the content you do and that I can consume it for free. I hope you understand that this is also the reason for me trying to write this feedback down properly instead of doing a half-assed Youtube comment. Maybe some ideas for a possible next season: 2 members per team 500 bucks per system teams are not allowed to split up teams can only buy one component per deal/seller all items have be bought used. nothing new I am very interested in what other forum members have to say to my feedback and ideas :)
  4. How about that: LTT is a business run by LMG. LMG needs to make money in order to pay everyone involced. BMW will have payed them good to have them come to Germany and do a piece on their stuff. Am I interested in that? No, not one bit. Do I care if LInus is interested? No, tbh. Do I care about LMG being up and running to create content of which I can enjoy like 80%? Yes, yes I do. The OP of this thread cleary doesn't understand how businesses and escpecially content creator businesses work.
  5. I'd be veeeeery careful here. A friendship where one person actually has deeper feelings than the other can turn out so bad. I have made that mistake myself....twice....and besides those friendships lasting for years, at the end they where harmful for me.
  6. You can't make anyone like you. (not meaning you personally of course) Be honest about your feelings and see where it goes from there. Anything else will never ever happen. I know that is sounds hard and is a pretty big thing for most shy people like myself but not being honest and somewhat direct about my feelings towards my crushes has always hurt them and me in ways I wasn't able to think of at the time. And if you love them, being honest should be your first thought anyways.
  7. Just to be clear upfront: I know that LMG is a business. I know that they do what they do to generate a profit. Now that that is out of the way: Thank you Linus, thank you LMG team! The hours, most likely even days and weeks of joy you have gave me is something I can't thank you enough for. I consume a lot (and I mean A LOT) of Youtube content and yours just stands out. The mixture of information and entertainment is outstanding and your production value at this points just matches this quality. I know that you guys are not perfect and I am not claiming that you are, but you are damn good, if not the best at what you are doing. I tried to lay out some of the points that I think seperate you guys from the majority of content creators: 1.) You are not afraid of change. I think it's great to witness that you constantly switch things up in order to improve, sometimes even taking some steps back to get the best result. Best example: you destroyed most of the warehouse sets in order to build the condo because you realized that the look of a "real place" just added something that regular sets just could not provide. On the other hand you made the switch to more aggressive thumbnails a while ago because you knew it was relevant to the business. 2.) You listen to your fans. In all my Youtube years I have never crossed a channel that managed to listen to its fanbase just as good as you do. And by that I mean that you really seem to take a close look at the feedback we give you and manage to seperate trolls or haters from the rest of the bunch. Whenever I scroll through the comment section of any of your videos I will found some comments of you "having selled out" and wishing back the good old NCIX or garage days. And there are a lot of these comments. But you seem to be aware that it's just a few people being really loud instead of a lot of people. On the other hand you listen what gets "demanded" by most people. e.g.: we wanted more videos with Anthony, you gave us more videos with Anthony. 3.) Transparency. Sometimes, you guys screw up. It happens. A former boss of me once told me: "I get nervous when no mistakes happen. It means that people are not doing their work." You guys work a lot and besides all the quality control in the world, some mistakes get carried out to the public eye. But you always manage to react to that in an absolute professional way, apologizing and explaining how it happened in the first place and what steps you are going to take to avoid a similar situation from now on. But what I like even more: you never beg for forgiveness. I always feel treated like an equal and that is all I want. And you don't only do that when there are mistakes but also when you feel like you need to clearify on some things and misconceptions about LMG. TBH: I feel like I know everything about your company to understand how it works, how it is making a profit and who is in charge for what. And I can't say that of a whole lot of business. I am aware that this seems like a blind praise of LMG but tbh: why wouldn't I? The amount and quality of content I get FOR FREE from LMG is outstanding and I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Linus and his team. You, Linus, managed to gather people around you who are just as crazy about tech as you and we all are. I am looking forward for any of your content.
