This is pretty typical behavior, come to forum, ask questions, already have mind set, blast people when they give opinions.

If you must go Intel and have no interest in overclocking, a cheap h310+ an 8700 nonk + a hyper212 will get you almost identical performance to a stock 8700k.

You cant go quad channel. Ryzen support only Dual Channel.
    Just get 2x16GB.

Listen I'm not about to defend any company but it occurs to me that you made a thread where you throw shade on a company because you feel they're throwing shade on other companies when its entirety possible everything they said in these slides is 100% accurate.

That would make you the very thing you're accusing them of being, wouldn't it?

The CPU I'd recommend for your motherboard is an i7 4770, but at $150 or so it's not a stellar deal compared to AM4

For 300$ you can get a 2600 and a basic motherboard, you will be better served then a 3200G imo.
Edit: the 2600 is around 135$ and the MSI B450 Tomahawk is 115$.

Again, I never said it was illegal,  I said it was artificial, a term that does not just apply to stocks, it applies to all commodities and products.

He also used the worded "fake",   In fact he said a double fake,  meaning his initial pricing was fake.

The only fact is their initial price was too high,  if it was too high because they set it high on purpose then the price was fake (as they claim), if they didn't set it high on purpose then they are making the whole story of doing so up to cover their embarrassment of having to lower the price due to the supers.

Setting the price higher than the market trend is making the price artificial.   Calling it pre-planned doesn't change that, in fact it makes it worse, it means they intentionally want to charge more than normal market forces and are manipulating the market to achieve that.   This is exactly what the VP claimed he did.

If you need to believe that then by all means, but when a company admits they artificially raised the price (for any reason), I have no reason to believe that their intention is to lower them or that their end goal is the consumers best interest.   There is no evidence to support anything other than AMD are either back pedaling form another disaster launch or they artificially increased the price.

AMD > Poor volta, whoops, we did it on purpose

Maybe. maybe not.   That is something for the courts to decide. It's not something I have claimed.

Whilst not exactly relevant to what I was saying, It still highlights the unethical nature of misrepresenting the value of a good in order to deceive and how it is illegal to do so for other commodities that a company or individual will benefit from.

It’s all good if you can return it. It probably does work on some AMD mobos though. I’m guessing Chinese ram isn’t on the official compatibility list...

Deadsies reacted to EpicWaffles449 in Am4 upgrade on a budget 2600 or 3600
Well, the 2600 is a good CPU, but considering the massive leap in price to performance with the 3600 (being nearly twice as fast as last-gen for roughly $50 more), I would consider the 3600. With the stock included cooler (or a different one; up to you; would get same results) a 4.2Ghz overclock on all cores would run GREAT and likely quadruple the performance your used to coming from an FX 8350. I'm doing a similar upgrade myself (soon) from my fx 9590. I would suggest the 3600, paired with the MSI B450M-PRO M2 V2 motherboard (Cheapest B450 board where I am). Btw AMD is currently offering a free UEFI upgrade kit for those planning on using B450 boards (previous-gen) with the new CPUs, so probably check that out as well. The pair (Motherboard + CPU) shouldn't cost more than roughly $275USD altogether.

Deadsies reacted to Wolrajh in Just a "how RAM works" question
I recently came into contact with someone claiming CAS was way more important than ram speed, and should almost be the only criteria to factor in when choosing a ram kit.
They also claimed saying that "3600 is the sweetspot for am4" is stupid and moronic.
    Finally, they said they'd rather get a 2666mhz CL 12 kit than a 3600 CL 15 kit.

Now from what I understand, the "common" formula used to calculate actual timings or "true latency", (CL/FREQ) * 1000 * 2, yields us the following score :
    (12/2666)*2000 = 9.00ns
    (15/3600)*2000 = 8.33ns
making the theoretical 3600 CAS 15 kit a winner. Not to mention it also gets better bandwidth, and should be a better base for OCing ?

As for me, I think speed and latency are obviously connected, hence the term of sweetspot after all. I'd go as far as give a little preference to speed as long as latency doesn't suffer too much ( went with 64gb 3600/17, couldn't find 16, don't know how much the ram amount and stick setup can affect latency ). You can always underclock the frequency to get good latency or something, but that's a world I do not know yet.

So... Are they wrong, or am I missing something fundamental here ?
