but with photos, zstd isnt compressing them, as there already compressed

Personally, I would keep the drive as a hot spare. The server at my school has a hot spare that was inactive for 8 years and only recently needed to come back up so there is practically no downside to having a hot spare vs a cold one but make sure that the hot spare is setup to automatically start rebuilding data in case of a drive failure.

Using Raid 5 would be a good idea basically no other config needed.

OP. I would suggest getting an offsite backup if the data is important and use the 4th drive as a hot spare.

There is a massive difference in that PSU you have and a Seasonic Prime quality and technology wise...

Seasonic puts that 12 warranty on them because they are built to last at least 12 years.

You PSU has a 5 year warranty on it.... And you are still using now after 13 years and 8 years out of warranty... So at best it might have been in spec for maybe 7 years, doubtful however given how PSUs were back then......

What you have is a time bomb, it's not a PSU anymore, it's a bomb waiting to go off that's shaped like a PSU.

Unless the computer is critical to work, school, etc than I would argue that you never need it “now”. Even then you can afford to take half an hour to research because if a system is “mission critical” than you should really be making sure everything you put in it will work well.

    MartinIAm got a reaction from sub68 in I daily drive a 6s...
I use an iPhone 6s as my daily driver, after upgrading from a 6. The battery is at 82% maximum capacity and it only lasts 1/4 of a day before dying (if using it). The main thing that I really notice is the battery capacity and everything else works great. Sure, the bezels are a little bit on the chonky side, but I have never used a iPhone X or newer so I don't really mind. It will still be getting software support till next year and I am very happy about that. For a lot of people this phone is way too old, but for me, it's perfectly fine. I LOVE the headphone jack and I use 3d touch all the time. I know for a lot of people the resolution isn't good enough, the bezels are too thick, the camera is too bad, it's battery isn't enough, and it doesn't have wireless charging (or fast charging), but is there any reason for me to switch as of right now?

Feel free to ask me any questions about using something everyday from almost five years ago.

Edit: I am also looking to buy a new iPhone within the next 6-10 months. Anything major differences between iPhone 11 and the original X?

Battery swaps don't cause Touch ID to stop working. The only thing that does that either a board swap while keeping the original sensor or a sensor swap while keeping the original board. This would commonly happen with cheap third party screen replacements because the repair workers would use a "full assembly" with a home button already attached instead of replacing just the screen, which takes a little more effort.

Jeez I couldn't deal with that. If my phone can't last me through the day I would lose it and it would actually impact my work as I am constantly on it for Slack and the like. If I need to recharge more than once a day that would be a problem for me.

The new iPhone SE could be a decent upgrade for you. You're already used to the body style it uses, and you've mentioned that you aren't bothered that much by the bezels. As much as I don't like apple, it's a pretty cheap upgrade that would give you better performance and battery life, while keeping you in the Apple ecosystem

I've actually done this and I use it quite regularly.
I got a free AWS EC2 instance hosting an OpenVPN server, then whenever I want to set up port forwarding I connect to the server and setup iptables to forward the traffic through the VPN to my PC.
I have more detailed instructions on my GitHub : https://github.com/lost1227/ovpn-port-forward

The statement that Linux does not perform as well as Windows 10 depends on multiple factors e.g. hardware support, the DE/WM being used, etc. If you have perfect hardware support and the ACO compiler is enabled, then the performance will depend. Usually rolling release distros are faster than release cycle distros. In benchmarks (for stuff other than games), Linux sometimes outperforms Windows. The ext4 filesystem is better than any Windows filesystem. BTRFS is my personal favorite and ZFS can also be used in Linux with LUKS encryption and LVM. I personally don't want my Linux to look like Windows 10. My workflow is much more productive currently in Linux:

And then you have another 4 lanes dedicated for the two m.2s that he has on the motherboard, so you would have to split the gpu's lanes in 8x so it can provide 4x to the pcie card for the extra m.2s.

It's not to hard to achieve and Plasma is very customizable. I didn't personally use a OSX theme but this one one of the things I have personally achieved. The list below may give you an idea of what to look for.

    Place of interest: https://store.kde.org/browse/cat/
You can also install ocs-url for one click installs throughout that site for things that support it.

Another one you could look at is Krita

I already enjoy using libreoffice, I always used davinci, gimp is close enough to photoshop, and I don't really use illustrator, so I should be good. I've actually heard of Popos, but it was in the back of my head somewhere. I am currently using Ubuntu now and I enjoy it a lot more than Windows.

I'm currently using Plasma by kde because I found that GNOME makes my cs:go very choppy and unplayable, but I do want to get to the macOS feel if I possibly can.

My main reason for switching is because I develop 90% of the time on my computer compared to a year ago where I didn't even try. And for me so much of the software that I used had better compatibility with macos and linux.

I would recommend 165hz 1440p as most people don't really notice that big of a difference between 144hz (or 165hz in your case) and 244hz. Unless you are playing competitive games and you are very high ranked then you probably don't need it and the resolution bump would just make the games look a little nicer.
