  1. Yep, they caused a commotion. That's what I fear the most, improper cleaning of GPUs.
  2. Yeah, my memory is hazy. Also, due to my slight autism symptom, I had a hard time recognizing faces. That's why I do note about the beard thing. But I haven't follow football for a very long time, It's just that I'm not very interested in football, so I rarely following the news about this.
  3. Yep, that's the guy. I know him because my cousin has her room filled with posters of his face. Hmm... Not sure about the beard, though... Maybe this was taken at later days.
  4. I see. Then good for you. The problem is because there are a lot of 'scamming miners' around that 'clean' their GPU to make them look new because they were 'abused (running 24/7, hot and dusty environment, never clean the GPU)'. So make sure you can trust whoever sell you this card. But still, if you can spare another 100 Euro or so, you may get a brand new card.
  5. Well, I don't know Messi other than he is a footballer playing for some club that I don't know much about. My time is where Michael Owen and David Beckham were still famous.
  6. Okay, which ThermalTake product are we talking about? For TTPlus series product, check if their TTPlus software can detect the device. TTPlus software is the only way to manage TTPlus devices. Check if the 5V power is there, as I believe the TTPlus controller uses Molex connector. RGB lighting uses 5V power from Molex. For aRGB, check the aRGB cable and see if it fits properly to motherboard.
  7. Short answer: NO! Long answer: If they can give you 1 year warranty on the card, 1 to 1 exchange in 6 months, and you trust that miner/seller, then maybe yes. Else, NO!
  8. Yep, looks like VRAM issues. Get that card replace, or if you are more adventurous, replace the VRAM chips (requires surface mount desoldering and soldering set, as well as new VRAM chips).
  9. Do you know who is P. Ramlee? Well, if you don't, I can't blame you, and you also can't blame Linus for not knowing Messi.
  10. If you're like me who know how to dismantle and assemble the mouse, you can dismantle it to clean it thoroughly. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the plastic, contact cleaner to clear any dust and debris from printed circuit board with cotton buds.
  11. Yep, the plain old dumb TV is still the best. That's why I'm not buying all the fancy flat screen TVs. Get a PC monitor if you can, although they are not large...
  12. I'm using CoolerMaster MasterFan MF120R aRGB (https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coolers/case-fan/masterfan-mf120r-argb/). It has a good air static pressure, having 2000rpm max speed, and quite silent in my case, even when running the fan at full speed. Maybe you can give it a consideration?
  13. @NobleGamerI see. Thanks for your list, I'll look into it. I'm not sure about this. AMD Adrenaline reported my GPU only use up to 270W (as far as I can tell), but I'm not sure if that's only the die or the whole board. I have no way to know how much the total draw of my graphic card, but I think it should be a little over 300W. Yeah, I guess nVidia cards can really hog a lot of power, so manufacturer assumes this to be the case. Huh, never thought the PCIe cable would cost so much.
  14. Yeah, that's what I'm looking for, a 750W PSU that has 3 PCIe cable.
  15. Okay, but it's still make me a little uncomfortable, with modern high-end GPU can pulled 500W in burst mode (remembering back the Amazon game that burn lots of RTX 3090 card)...
  16. So, in the Tier list, which will RMe be?
  17. Corsair seems to release RMe PSU. Are they any good?
  18. Appreciate your input. Thanks. Unfortunately, though, RM series only have 2 PCIe cables. I'm looking for at least 3 PCIe cables to reduce the chances of overloading the cable. I wonder if I can just buy additional PCIe power cable, though... I wonder why they give 3 ATX12V cable, though. I don't see many motherboard uses 3 12V ATX power ports.
  19. I do believe my PSU have issue. I got blue screen sometime just watching Youtube. My motherboard sometimes reported the 5V rail to be 4.78V (I have a few posts about this situation). Just yesterday, the system couldn't boot and the CPU Debug LED is noticeably flickering until I probe the power pin with multimetre, then it works fine.
  20. Hi, I'm looking for a 750W PSU that has at least 3 PCIe power port. I recently just upgrade my GPU from Gigabyte RX Vega 64 to AsRock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming, and the AsRock GPU has 3 PCIe power port. My current PSU has 2 PCIe cable only with 2 port daisy chain to each wire and I'm daisy chaining one of the cable now. I'm not sure about the budget, but I'm trying to get under USD150 or lower (well, I can spare a little if it's around USD160). What I need: - at least 3 PCIe cable (I don't wish to daisy chain for fear they may pulled too much current and melt the cable) - CPU12V cable (at least 1 8-pin, 2 preferable as motherboard uses 1 8-pin + 1 4-pin CPU12V) - At least 8 SATA power port (3 cables, 3 SATA or more ports each, or 2 cable with 4 SATA port each). Having 7 SATA devices: 1 SSD, 1 2.5 inch HDD, 2 3.5 inch HDD, 1 BD-RE drive, 1 DVD-RW drive, 1 Fan + RGB controller - Molex cable optional, but bonus to have as sometime I might need them for very old device. - 750W at least (850W is okay too) - Tier C or better from PSU Tier List, prefer tier A if possible. - My local shop carries CoolerMaster, Corsair, ThermalTake (preferred, especially their ToughPower GF) and SilverStone. There are some like Aigo, FSP, Gigabyte as well. My PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro Xi-Fi GPU: AsRock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming Storage: - Kingston KC 3000 1024GB Gen 4 NVMe SSD - Gigabyte 1TB NVMe SSD - Kingston A400 960GB 2.5 inch SSD - Fujitsu 750GB 2.5 inch HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5 inch HDD (the one with SMR) - Toshiba X300 4TB 3.5 inch HDD - LiteOn Blu-ray BD-RE drive - Generic DVD-RW drive pulled from HP Fan Controller: - ThermalTake PurePlus to standard PWM + aRGB controller Controlling 6 PurePlus12 fans Additional fan -2x CoolerMaster MF120 aRGB 12cm 2000rpm fan (CPU fans) More info: I usually maxed out at around ~700W input power when gaming. My GPU draw (at least from AMD metrics overlay) is about 270W stress test. Current PSU is Gigabyte G750H semi-modular PSU. Any suggestion is appreciated. Regards, Chiyawa
  21. I once experience this (not sure from which card) telling me to connect the PCIe power to the GPU from the display.
  22. Well, of course it will be. GTX 1660 Super is still quite good for light gaming and multimedia consumption, but at this point, you'll need a new PSU for it as Dell PSU may not have enough juice to run it. If you're talking about GTX 1660 Super, then you can try to get a PSU of 400W. There are plenty of options available, but I would suggest to get a reputable brand like Corsair or Cooler Master. You don't have to worry much about 80 plus gold or bronze because you only need it to power the GPU only. Oh, before I forgot, you need to short 2 pins of the ATX power cable that goes to the motherboard for it to turn on (namely pin 15 and pin 16). You can install the GPU by plugging the GPU card into the blue colour PCIe slot. As for power, however, you might need some modification to your case. One of the most simple way is to remove the side panel completely so you can easily route the PCIe power cable to your GPU using that additional PSU. Should be no problem.
  23. Unfortunately, modern Dell Optiplex uses proprietary PSU, which can be very hard to come by, especially for higher wattage one. Well, a low powered GPU is capable. If your PSU has 1 6-pin PCI-e power cable (usually found in 240W PSU), you can plug in a GTX 1050. If it doesn't have one, then your best bet will be RX 6400, or you can go for RX 6500 XT but you require at least 300W PSU for this (which is rare for Dell Optiplex system unless the system is configured with a mid-range GPU at that time of purchase). Should you need to use a better GPU, you might want to do a little modding by getting an ATX PSU so you can power your GPU. You might want to get a PCIe riser cable if you want to use a long GPU, because the case is quite small. To my knowledge, it can support up to 64GB 2133/2400MHz DDR4 RAM (for 4 slots, each slot 16GB RAM). Not sure if it can support 32GB RAM stick, though, but if it can, it should be able to support 128GB RAM.
  24. @Orangepurple For me, I think you can skimp off the RAM if your average usage is not hitting 14GB often. You can add RAM down the road so you can save a few bucks over here. Just curious, are you going to use your IronWolf HDD as a NAS or just storage for your PC? I think you can go for a cheaper HDD if you only use it as a storage. Toshiba X300 3.5 inch HDD is a good choice for budget HDD, it is a 7200rpm and using CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording). Although the consecutive read and write speed is lower compare to other (Got about 170MB/s read and 160MB/s write), it is still better than my Seagate SMR drive by a margin especially when the drive is nearly filled up.
  25. Indeed. Thanks for your information, but for this case, Gigabyte's motherboard manual causes a little confusion. Instead of listing the CPU as Ryzen 3000 series, they list it as 3rd gen Ryzen, and it was only recently they list the CPU as Ryzen 5000 series instead of 5th gen Ryzen (well, I mean Ryzen sure has a confusing naming scheme at one point). I was confused last time, and the kind shopkeeper kindly explain me of this, told me that my motherboard is PCIe Gen 4 capable (for every PCIe ports). I bought my system one or two months after Ryzen 3000 series CPU and X570 motherboard launched.
