    Great suggestion!
This Gigabyte board isn't available in Holland so I will use this ASRock board.
    http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H81M-ITX/
It only has 2 SATA 3 connections but that should be okay as were looking for a NAS for mass storage.

    Thx for the help!

I switched out the SSD with a 120gb one because he indeed doesn't need the 240gb.
I did keep the 8gb of RAM as he is a chrome user. https://giphy.com/gifs/google-experience-chrome-ojJsHKUFHRaAU
For the GPU I found someone nearby who is selling a MSI GT740 2gb which will work fine as he (indeed) does not game.
I changed out the 400W PSU for the 300W version just to keep some headroom for upgrading to a i5.

As I said, Thanks for the help!

ili199 got a reaction from iamdarkyoshi in Going to replace my GPU thermal paste
So I set up a test: put some thermal paste on a peas of paper and just use a multi meter to test the conductivity. And as it is: it isn't conductive.
Baseline test: 40seconds of OCCT's gpu test: 95c
    Replaced the thermal paste
And: 3 min of OCCT's gpu test: caped at about 72c

    SO IT WORKED!!!
It got 20c cooler so now it is a lot more silent wile gaming and I love it!

    Thanks for the help

I have owned the Maximus VII Hero for about two weeks now.

The "features" for the audio, IMO, is a gimmick. I just couldn't deal with it -- uninstalled it after a few days.
The prioritized network traffic feature seems good...but I used motherboards in the past that doesn't have this ability...and I have yet to notice any difference.

So far, in total I own / have owned a total of three ROG boards. I'm mainly interested in them for:
Refined UEFI BIOS (one of the best IMO; better than Gigabyte / MSi) Additionally overclocking options and settings in the UEFI BIOS More rigid electrical components and cooling that can take the punishment of my pumping extra voltage through them Well laid out expansion slots for multiple graphics cards (I've ran dual-GPU configurations for the last few years) Lastly, bottom of the list, colour preference (I have been a dead beat for the colour red all my life)
    My two cents:
Buy the motherboard that has all the features you need / want. Fancier premium motherboards will just have extra "options"; whether they are useful for you, personally, are is a different matter.

I would get a Cryorig H5, be quiet! Shadow Rock 2 or be quiet! Pure Rock instead of the Hyper 212 EVO. The mounting system is more sturdy and they are better priced in terms of performance.

Try to get an ssd in there. Even if it only is a 120GB one you can install windows on it and some other programs like chrome and your drivers.

eh...if your only doing a "bit" of editing, then it isn't really necessary for an x99 system. Consider something like a z97 and a 4790k. Yes you lose two cores and some cache but do you really need an x99 6-core system for mostly gaming and a "bit" of editing? Heck a 4690k will do you good for a "bit of editing" or a xeon based lga1150.

Also get the Noctua NH-D15 instead, its newer and performances better.

I am not the biggest fan of the case, but that is subjective...

The PSu is overkill. You would probably only need a 850watt PSu at most.

I would not recommend to only look at corsair for the coolers for this build. You can just use a Hyper 212 EVO and get an NZXT S340 and later an 240mm rad.

These problems do exist so that's why we have to test these cars. Here in Holland we have a lot of bicycles so there is the potential of a lot of problems in traffic if the cars do not react as good as needed.
It is important to know that not everyone can buy a self-driving car today and start to use it. it is only for companies who want to test them and together with other cars and the police they can drive around on the road. (You can read this in the last paragraph of the article)

And for the people who can lose there jobs, that is the way the world works. When the news apps came to smartphones the news papers did not like it. But now some have made there own app and some are just gone now. That is just the way the world works in the last 500 years or so. When a job is not needed any more it goes away... that's life...

and if you need the extra storage get a 2 TB or a second 1TB to set up in RAID for extra security for your data.
