  1. did some more searching.... found the thing i wanted... now to find some way to buy it is Aus. lol https://www.lumi.cn/en/lumi-ergo/monitor-arms/monitor-arm/sw02-5
  2. i also came here looking for info. the best i have found is this.. https://www.gostand.co.uk/products/slat-wall-system-poles-and-bar?variant=44030496932060 anoyyingly i'm NOT in the UK though... it does look like it is also in Aus under a different country https://brateck.com.au/product/mabt-sw02-3/ but it still isnt as versitile as what they used. :-(
  3. right now its mostly minecraft.... not gonna stress a 3050 with that... but GTA, 7DTD, Borderlands, Raft. are some of others currently installed. right now i think the sweet spot is going to be an i5 16gb ram with a 3050 but the question falls more to brang quality.
  4. looking at a new laptop. I dont need anything crazy, for the most part my gaming needs are met by my old laptop with a GTX 960M, so a 3050 is a significant upgrade with room to play other things if i feel like it. I am wanting something with thunderbolt so I can use a dock and swap it out for the company issued Dell when working from home. I am also able to get a $500 giftcard for big retailers so JB, Harvey, Goodguys are the likely places i'll buy from. Right now I have landed on 3 options I think the big deciding factor build quality for longevity. anyone have any good advice of how to distinguish between the 3 or any strong recommendations on alternatives. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/asus-tuf-gaming-f15-15-6-fhd-144hz-gaming-laptop-intel-i5geforce-rtx-3050 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hp-victus-16-fhd-144hz-gaming-laptop-12th-gen-intel-i5-geforce-rtx-3050ti https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/msi-katana-gf66-15-6-fhd-144hz-gaming-laptop-12th-gen-intel-i5-rtx3050
  5. Budget (including currency): $150-200 Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: facebook and occasional lazy gaming 7DTD and GTA5 are the most advanced I really play right now.. maybe GTA 6 when that happenss. Occasional minor video editing. Other details Ok so i currently have a Dell vostro 460 first or second gen i7 8gb ddr3 (2x 4gb sticks) Gtx 1050 Original everything else in the tower. Running on a 35"ultrawide 1440p 75Hz monitor What i am wondering is to start upgrades in small steps. Where I replace 1 part but reuse everything else untill i have the money for the next stage. So i can get away with small costs over a long period Eg: New motherboard (micro ATX) Then New power supply and fans. Then New Ram or New CPU Then The other. Ram/cpu Then. New case. Then New drives Then New graphics The issues i have is 1 can i get away with such a plan. Will such an old cpu /old ram work on a new board? 2 I cant seem to nail down whats good or bad when it comes to Motherboards and CPUs so motherboard and cpu suggestions are the main issue A motherboard under $200 A reasonably priced CPU that isnt likely to bottleneck a GPU at a later date. 3 the eventual end result being a pc that will rarely be asked to work hard. But is capable of it when i want.

I want to set up a USB C dock on my home computer desk to make it easier to work from home using the company Laptop (office has USB C docks already) the strange part is.. I Also want to be able to use the Same set up for my personal laptop which is a 4 year old Metabox (clevo) Is there some kind of Reverse Hub where i plug in a HDMI & USB A to my old laptop & have it able to use a USB hub so when I want to swap from my personal laptop to the work laptop I don't have to plug in all of the peripherals Crudely drawn Image to help explain (maybe) (also do let me know if i posted thins in the wrong place)
