  1. If you are using 93% ram then I think it would definitely make your pc run smoother but as a stranger online I cannot guarantee that your problem will be gone Same speed ram would have been ideal, but you should at least get the same capacity. If you can find identical ones it's great. Also how much do you have currently? 16gb is pretty much the minimum on windows these days
  2. Something that might help is setting the game to "windowed" mode instead of fullscreen, it does help with some games. I would also check the ram and cpu usage, maybe windows 11 just eats all your memory
  3. That's what i'm wondering about, how does it compare to internet in my phone (with the same provider) i get stable above 170mbps, sometimes 270, and the latency is ~~20ms [it's great compared to cable internet where it is above 70ms] It is a plan specifically for using mobile internet in one place (house/office) and is supposed to be used like that, so no worries. Gonna check that out, jeff's cool
  4. Currently i only have telephone cable internet. Speed promised by the provider is "up to 10mbps" which is 2-5 and very unreliable, constantly disconnecting. While reliability might be an issue just with the router, speed is too bad. I plan on buying mobile lte plan, and installing outdoors modem. Specifically D-link DWP‑812KT antenna-modem + router (BTS is around 800 m from me). While i'm at it i also want to make the wifi more reliable across whole house too. So the D-link modem and router would be on second floor, and then i would put Ubiquiti UAP AC LITE somwhere in the middle of ground floor, connecting it to d-link over wire. My question is, would it work? Are there better options, especially for the modem, i looked at many different ones and this has the most positive opinions.
  5. Im not in office currently but im pretty sure it's Chieftec Proton 500w 80+ bronze. The gpu was quadro 600 or something from similar era, im leaving it because I don't really need gpu for the type of work we do
  6. Budget (including currency): ~~400 usd Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: office work, cad software, 100 chrome tabs Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i already have case, drive, 80+ power supply, and im leaving old quadro gpu too Motherboard on one of the old pc's at my office broke so im doing a slight refresh using some of it's old parts, and some other ones that i had, but I still need to buy cpu and mobo What I plan to buy: cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 - i looked into 5600 too, but according to cpubenchmark.net its only few percent better, and it is currently costs about 50% more here, mobo: I'm not really sure about this one, i looked at Gigabyte B450M K (cheaper), and ASUS PRIME B450-PLUS but these are pretty random choices for me, i don't really know what to look for other than i/o and ports i need, what would the difference be between the chipsets is a mystery for me. I'm looking for something with m.2 slot or two, 3+ sata, maybe a decent lan but i see most of them have 1gig and i don't plan to upgrade office network beyond that in the next 3-4 years. ram: im looking into corsair/pny/gskill the prices seem quite similar, i think i will buy 3200mhz, but im not sure whether to buy 2x8gb or 1x16gb That's about it, I already have the m.2 ssd too so that covers everything. I want your opinions especially about motherboard and ram setup
  7. My budget is $1300 but I'm in Poland so prices probably vary a lot. It would be between 4500-5500 pln (zł) {link to 55'+ TV is polish shop https://www.x-kom.pl/g-8/c/2482-telewizory-56-i-wieksze.html} I'm looking for 65 inch 4k TVs, how to cuoose one, are any brands superior, help?
  8. Dad bought windows for me while getting new pcs for his company. For cuda part. I just wanted to emphasize that I want nvidia gpu, nothing else.
  9. 1. ca. 600-700 $ (closer to 700$ = 2700 PLN) - Poland 2. Gaming: - 1080p 50-60 fps in Witcher 3 on high/ultra (i dont even know) kind of performance -streaming -video editing in Premiere (adobe soft in general PS, Ai) -blender and unity sort of stuff -cuda -watching youtube all day long, let's be honest -cuda 3. Currently I have 2 monitors, both 1080p, 16/9 and 16/10. 4. No need for new peripherals. For OS I might find a key laying around, so no. 5. Why am I upgrading? Because I want need better PC. IMPORTANT: I have 1TB hard drive so I don't need new one. SSD? Probably. Would be cool.
  10. So in 2nd laptop at my work, cd drive broke this Tuesday and we can't open it (the first one broke months ago). It is recognized in windows tho. As I have the new drive, I installed it, in but windows doesn't recognize the new one. Could the connector be a problem here? Or could I troubleshoot it somehow in windows?
  11. This file is created after the chkdsk tool completes. It is safe to delete it.
  12. I don't know if it ok or not. I put it back and it still doesn't work, I ll try to find replacement Edit: question in op edited.
  13. I will try taking the laptop apart now to check connectors, but it seems there is power in it so I'm not sure
  14. what do I do? This part is pretty much solved. But now I have a question about the second laptop. So in 2nd laptop (same model), cd drive broke this Tuesday and we can't open it. It is recognized in windows tho. As I have the new drive, I installed it, in but windows doesn't recognize the new one. Could the connector be a problem here as well?
  15. Well, I didn't make my point clear here. With i7 9700k - class cpu, I can just stick to it for next year or two. I just wanted to know if buying cheaper gpu (and better cpu) (or other way around) and buying new one during next year could be a good idea. Also, yeah I probably shouldn't write a post asking for build advice now, since I'm going to buy next month, but I have too much free time, and I'm bored, and kind of exited for new pc already. Sorry.
