itsmyjobtoknow got a reaction from shadowbyte in AM3+ Motherboard with DDR4 RAM
They don't exist....at all
AM3+ platform came out in 2011 with only support for DDR3 because that's what existed at the time.
DDR4 came out in 2014ish

The x79 platform is still a good platform, especially if you can get it on the cheap and overclock it to the limit. Yes it is somewhat outdated but isn't obsolete yet.
But you don't need a 1000 watt PSU....not even remotely.

itsmyjobtoknow got a reaction from The Sloth in Push and pull or single 120 fan
Not necessarily....More fans on a radiator can yield a quieter result then a singular fan while pushing the same amount of air.
Also...if a fan is disable until it hits a certain thermal threshold....than a disabled fan won't be making any noise...

FFS...it's a joke. Linus doing crazy sh*t at CES has become a meme in the PCMR reddit/space. Someone legit took the time to photoshop Linus taking the damn laptop.
Its a f*cking joke.

The amount of stupidity that is coming out of you...is just mind blowing. Do yourself and the rest of the world a favor, and learn sarcasm, and learn the difference between a joke that seems like a statement, and an actual hateful statement,

There is a difference between no longer exist...and discontinued.
No Longer Exist means...it has been completely removed from this timeline/world/existence and you can't physically find one
Discontinued means it is no longer made but exist somewhere.
So I think you meant discontinued, because I very sure I can find a Caviar Green to buy on Amazon, Newegg, NCIX, Microcenter, etc.

As a person who went to public school on weekdays, private tutoring school on weekends, private school in the summer for a good chunk of my life, I got jackshit for it.
Mind you the private tutoring wasn't because I lack behind, it was to accelerate me further ahead than the rest of the people in my class. First day I walked into that room and I was already two years behind on the material the other students knew.

That doesn't take away from the part that you're being an entitled prick and trying to justify not working for what you want.
-
itsmyjobtoknow got a reaction from Statik in Ugh, help...
Let me clarify, he is helping, you're just rejecting the idea of you potentially being what he is saying. AKA you're in denial.
Nonetheless, you can't tell us what to do, this is the internet
And, yes it is helpful saying the same thing over and over again, it just depends on what the statement is.

And once it is drilled into your head, be mad at yourself for being those things, and let the anger motivate yourself to do better, to change for the better
And no, I am not trolling, those are the things that goes on in my head almost everyday.

GPU - 16 Lanes right there
Capture card - 4 Lanes, rarely do I see 8x capture cards
M.2 Storage - 4 Lanes at most.
16 +4 + 4 = 24...
24 != 28

If you're on a budget, I would probably suggest looking into used parts as it may give you higher performance per dollar spent (depending on where you look)

itsmyjobtoknow got a reaction from trzasku in Will PCIe SSD make a difference in everyday use?
Yes, 850 Pro is a SATA 6gb/s based SSD.
Just a matter of how many SATA 6gb/s ports you have on your board.
You can plug it into any SATA port on your motherboard, but if you plug it into a SATA 3gb/s port, you just won't get the full speed of the drive.
-
itsmyjobtoknow got a reaction from trzasku in Will PCIe SSD make a difference in everyday use?
Here's the problem with your system, z77 doesn't have support for NVMe drives for primary boot up, unless your manufacturer of the motherboard has released BIOEes/UEFI update for a 4 year old platform that adds support for NVMe.
So you could get an NVMe drive for secondary storage or modify your BIOS/UEFI but that is at your own risk.
Otherwise your SOL.

Oh, I never bloody realize you were talking about AIOs...
Go with whatever your wallet can handle. They look, IMO, the same either way.
