This video tells me something which maybe inspired the founders of Noctua in how their products should be made in term of noise level, and I was surprised.

The wings up & down moments are much different from the constant circular motion from fans, but still they sorta use the same idea here on the fan, if you noticed noctuas fan or other fan blades like Dark rock pro, the blades do have a similar design feature that reduces the drag , overall the same way as with owl feathers  needle tips reduce drag & vortex formation in turn less noise when movement is rapid. So in a way, Yes . They already used the method.

@Tech_Dreamer I never realized that owl can fly such silently in reality when it compared to other birds face to face. The Noctua branding like name & logo, and how their products performs are actually accurate to the nature of a real owl. I like it. Cool stuff

im not familiar with noctua stuff, literally am just noticing about the owl logo just now lol. didn't knew they were basing their company logo on this concept this whole time lol.

i've read about the case fans noise output research bit sometime ago. they research with actual engineers to design this stuff, Dark rock company had an underdog reputation in making the most silent ones, it was due to the little measured grooves at right spots & intervals that helped them.

its kinda the same concept with plane wings or something. you know those tiny folded edge at the end of the wingtips of the plane that's used to reduced resistance & drag. that kinda stuff. noctua uses a lot of dampening materials which makes them less rattling which also is a sound amplifying factor.
