  2. Self note to post;
VR tips/suggestions as a Vive / SteamVR user, both physical, and software/applications.
    Troubleshooting tips.

And personal setup including cables, accessories, etc. and for what uses.

  3. just here to publicly appreciate the Revy gif

Be careful, it's not just a pfp emosun has a personality not all too dissimilar to Revy either.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I mean Revy cared about other human life on occasion. Protecting Rock's a**'n'all.

  4. 15.5 Stone. I want to lose 2 stone this year. Would help lighten the load on my bike and my back for this year's LTX too! Lets!
  5. Future plans to write about last years moto trip to LTX, a 2,000 mile trip on a little carbureted 650 Vstar; getting a passport in 10 days, and my overall budget.
less than 4k for a roughly 2 week trip. @Infensus is also best brit I've met

  6. tfw you underbuild your original build

overkill psu is no good. You only need max 750w to 850w for any single gpu. Heck, 850w can still run sli or crossfire too.

If I go full 1080 TI's or similar I've already got a PSU to test with.
I get people go crazy over overrated Wattage on PSU.
My deal is I'd prefer to have the Wattage for future building / testing and it works.

The last PSU I had was min spec. This is rather way over spec obv.

      Sure I'd save a few bucks getting a 850 or 750.
Sure this build is already wack, but this is what I ended up with, runs stable, and makes me happy.
Don't need to bash for over building some components when it works perfectly fine.
      This is my system afterall.

850W can runs stable as 1000W on any single or dual gpu setup. You are wasting electricity for the 1000W that you will never push it on single gpu setup.

  7. Future build soon?
    RTX 2080Ti
    R9 3900X
    32Gb Ram 3200
    2Tb m.2 w/ new PICe 4 whatever
    2Tb SSD
    570 motherboard
    bluray player
    matching power supply
    Fitting ATX case?

Hmm. this is looking to be around a ~2500ish build....
Should be great for Premiere and OBS + games though and VR

  8. oh shoot dang. Are you using one of those extend microusb/3.0 cables? Try using a new one. Unless it can go straight to SATA...
  9. Will tomorrow, real tired and classes start tomorrow xP
  10. This was a quick weekend build with a old HP desktop laying around. Intended as a placeholder google docs machine and future media/network backup machine, as well as a 2nDairy (Secondary) gaming machine for cheap. My laptop is being repaired for several weeks so I need something to transfer written class notes while it's away. Here is a quick benchmark: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/19606825 All in all I've put in this build Total: $127 USD (this weekend) +~$60 for parts laying around YMMV Base build $0 (was laying around unused) HP Pavilion Slimline s5623w (Comes with 3GB DDR2 [1gb + 2gb]) (working DVD burner) (CPU Cooler for 95W) (originally Sempron 140) (motherboard M2N68-LA (Narra5)) ATX Case $20 - XPS Dell case (used private sale) Power Supply new EVGA 600W (laying around, bought at Best buy several years ago for $25ish?) CPU $15 Phenom 8650 CPU (used private sale) $40 EVGA GTX 680 SSD (used private sale) $24 PNY 120 Gb SSD (best buy) Thermal Compound (bestbuy) $8 Gas from going everywhere (California, sub $4 per gal) $20 (180 miles/ 40ish per gal [motorcycle lyfe]) Upgraded to win7 from the OG HDD and used the Key to load it onto the new SSD (PNY from bestbuy) That made the biggest immediate difference I haven't seen before today with anything. In Sacramento area, got the 680 & CPU & Case locally used. FB & Craigslist. Both parts within 12 hours from search to purchase. Planning on finding a Phenom II X4 940 to upgrade the bottlenecking 8650 in it rn. Should be roughly $25 used but if I don't well this is perfect as a working office like machine. Currently running my LG 27UK600W (4k monitor I got used for $180) with it just fine for videos and such. I'm happy with how quick and easy this was. You can do it too! Any questions or if you want pictures just ask. Can run other benchmarks on request. Enjoy!
  11. BACK HOME. Made it alive. 2,000 miles and a few nights camping.

  12. Finishing packing up! Will be on the road in a few hours!
