  1. i'm trying to compile a list of problem with HDR display to determine if the issue occured can be sorted to if your display is having a general HDR problem (since we might be a few years before the technology can advanced to really produce an affordable, acceptable proper HDR display) or if the problem is caused by a defect. i have a pg35vq, after several test i had encountered several flickering while the monitor is displaying a bright color with a dark background. although the flickering was quite minor and quick to disappear. aside from that i havent been able to produce any of the problem i've read about HDR. Aside from things that is always occured like halo ing if you have a bright object like a cursor moving around a dark background, HDR mode doesnt start or turn off after you use an app. any input will be appreciated. thanks
  2. my pg35vq just arrived a few hours ago, it work really well, tested it with some hdr title and videos without any flickering or the gsync shadow problem that your unit has. maybe i need to replicate some condition to check if my unit has the same problem with anyone that received faulty ones?
  3. yeah i have read your post about the problems with the monitor (and that was after i made the purchase) the monitor is problematic since it arrieved or after you use it for a period of time? the reason i updated this post it to see if this particular model does really have problem or just some units out there that are bad. Btw really sorry to hear about your case.
  4. well i managed to get a pg35vq on order, it will arrive in 2 days. i pick pg35vq over pg27uq is mostly because of the screen real estate. was thinking about your suggestion about the LG C9 but 55 inch is a huge display and there is no HDMI 2.1 GPU atm or any DP option on it. just a concern if 90% DCI P3 is noticeable vs DCI P3 97% that pg27uq have. (pg65uq is out of the question since its size wont fit my workstation) wish me luck and hope it wont have flickering issue. will update result asap
  5. this is my build atm -i7 8700 non K -RTX 2080 TI ASUS ROG STRIX OC 11 GB -MOBO AUROS ULTRA Z390 -16 gb CORSAIR DDR 4 2666 -SSD NVME 250 GB -HDD SEAGATE 2 TB - CORSAIR 750 W PSU i am aiming to have the most cinematic and best color gaming experience (i play mostly single player games because i dont have much time to play e sport titles nowdays) i am using 4k atm for the setup while deciding which display should i buy. Before i was using LG 60 hz 2560x1080 ultra wide monitor with gtx 960 for years and decided to upgrade to my recent build. i like the ultra wide monitor for work for having more display for many things i need at the same time, but i want a crisp sharp and silky gameplay when i can play in my spare time. i saw some vids that hdr is the new best thing for gaming, both monitor have hdr 1000. I never seen any hdr arent monitor yet, maybe just tvs that i pass by that have hdr advertised like LG C9 so i am hoping that the monitor will be a huge step up from the displays i ve seen. any input on the pro and cons on both are welcome. Note: in MHW on full ultra using tv, the GPU osd only show i can run at 56-61 fps. on Doom it shows the same fps range too. So does the hdmi input reduce any performance showed? or it shows real fps perfomance? thanks
  6. *new update i just purchased a 16gb corsair vengeance 2666mhz and installed it. after i benchmark it on 3d mark time spy my score is only 5819. that is very low right? anyone can give me any clue on why i scored so low? is it the motherboard? or anything i miss while setting up the system?
  7. will do, yeah i think so too. the ddr i ordered will come in a few days. Update* i tweaked the gpu using asus gpu tweak for better fps and stability. but in 1 setting the gpu is running really well but it reached 86 c in temp so i turn the clock core and memory down. does the lack of ram can cause the temp spike to that degree? any input will be appreciated
  8. im using 4k samsung tv for now, and setting a goal to have a 4k gaming rig. the 4k monitor that im planning to get is the rog swift one but maybe need to wait to find a decent option or wait till its come down in price. i just recently upgrading from a i3 3220 and 1440p 60 hz monitor and havent following the progress on pc gaming for like 7 years or so. i worry that i made bad choice(s) selecting the components on the 2080 ti build
  9. from what i read the motherboard support up to ddr2666 does using 3200 is compatible too?
  10. yeah and maybe timespy too? any suggestion how what kind of ram i need to get, like 16gb or 32gb of particular manufacturer for best result?
  11. and does the lack of ram can cause for the benchmark and mhw isnt running very well? or is there a hardware problem that cause the benchmark score to be very low?
  12. i just recently build a rtx 2080 ti build with this specs -i7 8700 turbo boost activated -RTX 2080 TI ASUS ROG STRIX OC -MOBO ASUS 360H GAMING ROG STRIX -8 gb ddr 4 2666 (waiting for v gen ddr 4 tsunami x 16gb 2666 because the seller sent me the tsunami led ones) -SSD NVME 250 GB -HDD SEAGATE 2 TB - CORSAIR 750 W PSU while i was waiting for the ddr i activated the turbo boost on the cpu and decide to benchmark it using timespy 4k. The system only scored around 5500 to 5800 ish. its seems very low and after trying to install monter hunter world the fps is hard to get to a stable 60 fps, mostly it run on 50-55. can someone help with on which components that isnt compatible or bottlenecking my fps? any help with be much appriciated
