  1. I used 20mm clear acrylic double sided tape. It says heat resistant in their product description. I thought about covering the marked part but then again I have to cover the whole fan area as the blades don't cover the hole fully, so left that open for now to provide better ventilation.
  2. Actually I can see the inside of my PC from where I sit and rarely anyone sees the back of the case so installed it on the back.
  3. Thanks to both of you. I got hold of some fine screen plastic mesh made specifically for doors to keep bugs away, here is the result.
  4. The mesh I had previously was bit too dense. Will this new mesh work. The vents let out a lot of air. The holes are 2x2mm. Standard keycap for scale
  5. Since I live in a place with lots of trees and greenery, bugs are a bit more here but not that extreme as an Australian home where getting bit by a bug is a common occurrence lol
  6. I have these with me. The mesh is the same thing you get on the top of your cabinet.
  7. Thanks. I have some 120mm fan mesh filters. I will cut them up and stick them using some silicon double sided tape.
  8. How do I stop spiders and wasps from getting inside PC? The other day I was cleaning under my PSU shroud and saw some cob webs tangled around the PSU spare cables. Also a potter wasp built its nest inside my home near to my PC and I fear that they may get inside through the back ventilation holes of my case (Lancool 215). I have been stung twice. The nest has since been broken and discarded, with anti wasp spray killing the female but the male wasp still seems to be lurking around in my room and catching it is not a feat for a normal human as they fly super fast. Can I cover up the back ventilation holes with ultra fine fibrous mesh without affecting the cooling so as to stop the bugs from getting an entry point?
  9. Yes. Repaired most of the programs and the shortcuts are back. Looks like if you upgrade from a real okd version like I did (22.1.1 - 22.5.2) it causes some issues.
  10. Copying them didn't work. Looks like AMD while installing or removing the previous version removed them all together from the system. Repaired all of the programs and they came back except Photoshop, whatever I try it doesn't want to show back. Only way to bring it back is to manually pin it to Start. Note: The programs work fine without any issues, just that their shortcuts from Start Menu was gone.
  11. AMD removed most of my Start Menu Shortcuts that weren't in a seperate folder. Photoshop, Epic, Office all are plain shortcuts without their own folders. All of them were removed. Whereas Origin, Steam, Windows Apps etc which were in a folder were not removed. Looks like a bug in the latest 22.5.2 preview uninstaller. Had to uninstall it to revert back to old 22.1.1 drivers as it was causing stuttering even in Windows. Any idea how to get back the shortcuts without reinstall/repair? Edit: issues seems to happen when updated from inside the adrenaline app Saw a similar post on AMD forums and user faced same issue as mine (I also updated to latest inside the app). https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/update-delete-shortcuts/m-p/507514#M152160
  12. They should atleast let the public know. Just shat my pants when opened this link and saw my account name on top
  13. Just now seeing some websites from Amazon with Arcus prefix. Like: https://arcus-www.amazon.com https://arcus-www.amazon.in/ https://arcus-www.amazon.co.uk Anyone knows what is this arcus thingy and if this is safe or not?
  14. Yes its pretty tight in its spot and doesn't move a mm unless pulled hard/wiggled back and forth to remove it. Tried 2 sets of cables and neither went in fully so I think the port on the PSU side might be a bit shorter. I hope so.
  15. Hi, I just noticed that the 220V mains cable of the PSU doesn't go in fully into the mains port. Is it normal for the cable to not go in fully? I pushed it as far as it can go and it sits fine and I have used this same PSU for nearly 2years now. I Just noticed this while relocating to another AC room. The cable is a decent quality 10A 250V that came with my previous Corsair PSU. My current Antec PSU came with a flat pin that is not compatible with my socket.
  16. Since this has happened with VLC in past it can happen again. So it's wise to not use VLC or rather any software that uses sideloading of dll's for now. VLC can fix this by using signed dll's that it loads into its software. VLC may not have been compromised but it can act as a means to compromise a system, Anyways changed the title.
  17. Remember any Antivirus software has kernel level access to your system. And any security agency can order any antivirus company originating from their country to snoop on their user's system. Still if you want to switch antivirus go for BitDefender as its the "second best" after Kaspersky.
  18. Symantec/BleepingComputer says "VLC" may have been compromised. Chinese espionage group Cicada can use VLC to hijack normal user's system by dll sideloading. https://symantec-enterprise-blogs.security.com/blogs/threat-intelligence/cicada-apt10-china-ngo-government-attacks https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/chinese-hackers-abuse-vlc-media-player-to-launch-malware-loader/
  19. One of 200mm fans died so went for 3x 120 as most 200mm didn't fit there. No the front mesh panel doesn't catch that much dust.
  20. Hi. Can anyone suggest me that how I can get rid of dust from PC? I have Lian Li 215 case with 3x intakes (Deepcool CF120) and 3x exhaust (3x thermaltake pure 12 argb with two of them on a 240mm radiator). I just dusted the PC on 18th March after summer set in and within a few weeks its dusty again. Currently the dust seems to have settled on the PSU shroud and fans seems but clean. Should I install front fan filters? Will it be of any use? One thing to note is that this time the summer season is pretty dry when compared to other summers. Like 30-50% humidity and where I live its a bit dusty.
  21. The app was installed under D:/Applications/CCleaner. But this seems to be a bug in the uninstaller as highlighted by some other members also on the CCleaner forum.
  22. Yes. Windirstat is set as administrator itself. Anyways I have zeroed the ssd and it seemed to solve the issue. Btw what about this, any suggestions?
  23. CCleaner 5.91 uninstalled most of my software when I removed CCleaner from Programs and Features in control panel. When uninstalling I saw in the progress bar that some Adobe, MSI, Steam and Origin files were being removed and after it completed I saw that Adobe reader, Afterburner, Aida64, Steam, Origin, Discord, HDsentinel etc were corrupted (not uninstalled completely). The program (CCleaner) was installed under D:/Applications Folder Any program in the D:/Applications Folder was partially removed when CCleaner was uninstalled leading them to be present in Windows but unable to open. Anyways I know CCleaner installation was not a wise decision but some unknown files are occupying a large amount of space in my ssd and Windirstat fails to show them. After this mishap I reflashed my Bios to a newer version and full scanned my OC with my Antivirus (Kaspersky Internet Security and Hitman Pro Trial) and it came out clean. So is it safe to say my PC doesn't have any backdoors by CCleaner?
  24. One more thing guys. Are different Canon Inkjet Pigment bottles have the same quality of ink? I am talking about GI-790 and GI-71 PGBK Pigment Inks. Both are pigment and both are 135ml bottles with different nozzles
