  1. Budget (including currency): 1500-2500 in euro

    Country: Belgium

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: The heaviest use will be the latest game titles on the best graphics and some vr.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I already threw something together but would love some feedback as i am not up to date with the latest parts as i build my pc 5 years ago.

Do you live near a computer store? Ask around and see if they will update the BIOS for you for free (some stores require you to buy the CPU and motherboard from them to get the fee waived), or a friend for their Alder Lake CPU. This is so you can save some money and buy a Z690 board, but if the price difference is small, just go Z790.

Ok i cant update it myself without a cpu that fits while it has stock right?

I have had a look but it is hard to say exactly getting a capable PC with a capture card in it is gonna be hard. I looked at first gen Ryzen but they are still too expensive. I'm guessing you might be able to get an old Server CPU with 8 cores, 16GB ram and a big HDD and hopefully have enough left for a capture card. I haven't had much experience with server CPUs so others may be better to suggest the specifics there.

If i where to tell you i wanted record animal crossing and i want it to be cheap as possible (Also editing) what would you get?

€500 is not alot for any PC let alone a Video Editing rig. I suggest you go second hand as there isn't much chance of getting anything new that will do what you need.

Thats what i thought so. could you recommend me one that is as cheap as possible

  9. Budget (including currency):  500 euro

    Country: Belgium

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Recording (external capture card animal crossing), Video editing animal crossing.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi a friend of mine wants to start making Animal crossing videos 1080p60. He asked for the pc to be 500 euros but as i do not know about video editing i do not really know wich part to pick here. All help would be greatly appreciated.

The pc can be bought prebuild from a store if this is easier.

In case the budget is not high enough for video editing u can also tell me.

there is a button next to the clear cmos button. Load a usb stick with the correct bios, check the documentation that came with your motherboard to see in which port you need to plug it in. Then plug it in the correct port, turn it on and qucikly press that button (the Q Flash + )

it's probably described in detail in the manual somewhere, but essentially you put the bios files on a usb stick, put it in the white usb port on the back of your motherboard (take a look, there's a white one), and press the "Q-flash plus" button.

Ok i can try that let me know if you gus have any other suggestions.

last time i used a gigabyte motherboard, it became obviously clear that their dual-bios feature is broken AF, might be worth a try to just update the bios with the usb Q-flash thing.

past that.. may as well try to give all the power connections a good "wiggle" to make sure they're well and properly in palce.

How can i update the bios when i can not get into the bios of the mb after i press the power button the device goes dark?

Something I would recommend is unplug everything from the PSU, and try a different one, ig you don't have one on hand, try and borrow one from a friend. A similar problem happened to a friend of mine, and the PSU was the problem

Ok ill keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion ill try this when the other options do not work.

  13. Hi i build my pc 3 weeks ago and now suddenly it doesn't boot anymore.

    The hardware:

    CPU: AMD ryzen 9 3900x
    PSU: RMx850W
    MB: Aorus x570 master
    Cooling: H100i waterkoeling
    GPU: Nvidia 1030
    RAM: Vengeance 2x32gb
    SSD1: mp600 1tb

    SSD2: mp600 2tb

    The issue:

When i turn on the PSU the clear cmos, power and the fan lights turn on . But when i press the power button all the lights shut off and nothing happens.

Also after i pressed the power button my motherboard makes a ticking/buzzing sound at the bottom left.

Here you can find pictures of the lights and a video of the sound:

    What i already did:

    -checked for shortages.

    -Checked the cables

Signed up just to share something else that worked for me. Mine is a Crosshair VI Hero with a 3600X (previously 18000X - same issue) and 2x16GB G.Skill 3200 RGB sticks. After trying all voltage-based solutions I found on the Internet to no avail, I disabled all LED effects from the BIOS and haven't had an 8D Q-code since. If I were to speculate, I'd guess the LEDs in the RAM or motherboard are either pulling in some significant startup current, or introducing some noise that interferes with the POST. Either way, lights off fixed it for me. I have them disabled in software anyway so I don't miss out on anything. At least now I don't wake up to my PC stuck on an 8D because one of the cats stepped on the power button.

Could you send us a picture of the settings?

So it's not detecting there's an ethernet cable plugged in? Are you seeing any activity LEDs flickering on the ethernet port itself?

yesd, but they are overkill for the future. 5950x is the best you can possibly have in the future. and evfen b550 tomahawk is more than enouhg for that.

Ok im also plannning an upgrade to a 3080 after christmas are the b550 pci slots good enough?
