I've been interested in computers for quite a few years now, since middle school.
I've built around 15 to 20 systems total.
I really enjoy the hardware aspect of computing, not so much the software side of things.
I have a lot of knowledge on computer hardware, but as far as software/coding goes not much at all.

  1. I got my first xbox when halo 3 came out, I clocked so many hours on that masterpiece it was probably the only game I played until MW2 came out. I saw one Halo 4 gameplay footage video on youtube and haven't thought about Halo 4 since. "Fuck halo Reach." -my soul.
  2. Really? MW3 wasn't a let down for you? After mw2 Xbox died for me, figuratively and literally. After my forth xbox died since 2007, that finally made me make the switch to PC.
  3. Squeeze the cash for a dedicated sound card, you won't regret it :)
  4. I'm going to keep my eye out for a sale on drives and maybe just use 2 cheap drives in RAID 0 But that'll be after I replace my boot drive with an SSD :)
  5. The Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's are intriguing, but they're only 16 ohm drivers unfortunately. I'm going to have a xonar essence STX powering them and 16 ohm's is very low impedance. From the reviews I've read the DT 770's have a better sound stage and better response in all ranges across the board. I'm still sold on the DT 770's :)
  6. I would recommend the Corsair sp2500's for a high quality 2.1 setup. (you can turn off the sub with the lcd controller included with the speakers) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H0MQYW/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  7. My friend has the Logitech Z623's the sub on those bumps, but the two speakers weren't the best for sound reproduction. (he ended up breaking the sub within a year) I can't guarantee that wasn't user error though :P The sp2500's will be way better as far as sound quality goes. Personally I would definitely go with the sp2500's. If you would like to see a well made and informative review of the 2500's look up "timetolivecustoms" on youtube otherwise known as TTL.
  8. Yeah from what I've heard the 598's are very neutral in their sound reproduction. Bass is a big one for me, thank you for clearing that up :) I'm probably going to go with the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO's Do you think the 650's are worth double the price? I'm a senior and don't have much money laying around :P also just curious, what sound card are you running? final cart: http://puu.sh/1UT1F the 250ohm 770's are cheaper on Amazon for some reason
  9. I have the same problem with Battlefield 3, I get 120+fps on low settings at 1080p, but if I use fraps my fps is 30 and it's not playable.
  10. I'm going to buy a new pair of headphones soon and the Sennheiser HD 598's seem to be the butter zone for 200$ Can anyone recommend a better pair of headphones around the 200$ mark? I've got a Asus zonar sound card (I'm going to upgrade this later) Thanks :)
