I guess if you wear skinny jeans, or something specifically with small pockets. My g8x, win 2, and switch lite each fit perfectly inside my denim pants pockets.

Honestly though it seems like you're looking at these devices with a console user's pov. Not having games specifically tailored to the specs is an irrelevant point for myself.

Also because I just remembered about it, technically the gpd win 1 actually does have a game designed for it; Durante helped port The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel to pc with the win 1 as the minimum spec. Not trying to prove a point, but just because there technically is at least one game designed for a gpd win device.

Curious, which side of the fence are you on, that this is "technically" breaking rules, or that under no circumstances should anyone be doing this?

Yeah, its almost as if clicking "download now" is easier than modding your console, or buying a device to dump a cartridge, or setting up an xbox360 and installing a game to an external usb drive and then decrypting it on your pc, or putting your ps3 disc in your pc bluray drive to make an iso and then decrypt it.

Of course it happens, and I'd bet to a with a higher percentage than with native pc gaming, but to say emulators are intended for piracy is ridiculous.

BTW Sony actually has the ps3 firmware available on their website. So I guess rpcs3 is "intended for piracy. end point."

Disagree. I own both the actual PS2 device unmodded and the actual gamedisc DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and the game doesn't look very great on it. Once you emulate it, increase the resolution and add anti-aliasing, the game looked much more crisp and sharp, every fx looked much better and crisp too when I emulated it. But the laptop was heating up tho so never bothered with again since that because it was simply only for the giggles. It was way back in 2010 or 2011 and I had a C2D CPU and 9600M GT.

And oh, I kept the aspect ratio unchanged.

That's such a massive oversimplification that I don't agree on the point still standing.
Valve runs their own servers Given the size of games, especially AAA-titles, they need absolutely massive amounts of storage They also allow people to save screenshots and upload videos and all sorts of other content of their own, which increases storage-needs They have their own CDNs all over the world They consume insane amounts of bandwidth at all times and, as you might be aware, that doesn't come cheap They have their own, entirely free streaming-service, which also consumes bandwidth and storage They have their workshop, which also consumes bandwidth and storage The Remote Play and Remote Play Together - stuff goes through their Steam Network if all parties are behind strict NAT and that consumes massive amounts of bandwidth -- they are proxying all the data through their own VPN-servers for no fee on the customer Voice-chat in and out of games also goes through their Steam Network, if needed. While it's obviously a lot less bandwidth, it is still an additional drain Ask anyone who actually runs something that consumes massive amounts of bandwidth and you'll very quickly find out that it does not come cheap.

The software could use quite a bit of work, but it's not like they haven't been doing anything at all with it. What they've been doing as of late has been more about designing a good AI-like system for recommendations, trying to find a way of getting the less-easily-found games out and about, giving them some much-needed visibility and so on -- it's all entirely non-flashy stuff and uninteresting for most people, but I tend to pay attention to such things.

Disclaimer: I use Steam as my primary platform for PC games (I do use other platforms but it is what it is).

But let's be totally clear here: I constantly see posts about how users won't buy a game if it's not on Steam. Hell, even sometimes they outright say they will pirate the game rather than buy it from Epic or the Microsoft Store, etc.

I definitely think there's some merit to these claims. Steam might not be a technical monopoly, but they're pretty damn close.

With that in mind, balance must be gained between the business interests of Steam vs the consumer interests of everyone else. This isn't black and white. Steam isn't good nor bad. It has both good and bad aspects. Something needs to be done, but it doesn't necessarily mean Valve loses control over their own platform.

CyanideInsanity got a reaction from IdlePX in Why do people avoid Epic?
Epic trying to become the monopoly is not competition. Something sweeney can't grasp is that taking a smaller cut makes sense if you don't offer many services. I use steam, gog, origin, uplay, itch.io, nutaku, dlsite, and on occasion even the windows store.

Also do remember that epic DENIED an indie dev who wanted their game available on steam as well as epic after declining the exclusivity offer. Yeah epic really cares about competition.

Its a port of a compilation title, of a series that people have been asking for over 10 years to come back to pc, which just so happens to have a new entry coming this year. This isn't halo CE anniversary coming to pc, its halo the master chief collection part 2 of 6.

They do work, rocket league even has its own controller profile from the devs. The issue is its not a standard controller when people expect it to be. Its a tinkerer's device more than a generic plug and play type of device. I love mine and its been my standard controller since launch. From what I gather in a quick search it looks like rocket league had a beta implementation of the steam input api and it wasn't working correctly and the fix was to change input settings from steam input back to steam controller. I could be wrong but I've not touched the game in years.

For the same reason someone would buy a 2080 ti over A 2060. There are pros and cons, with price being the most obvious one. I wanted better controllers than the wmr ones and the knuckles as they were called back then were what caught my interest, and coming from wmr there was no hardware that carried over. So I'd need the full oculus kit and steamvr base stations. I also wanted to ditch the wmr 1.0 insideout tracking and would rather use base stations for the immediate future.

It matters because we are the customers. If a product is not to satisfation everyone who wants to give their 2 cents should do so. I'm not buying them and have said I'm disappointed in a reply to a sw&sh promotional tweet. The product is not up to my satisfaction, and I'm giving feedback. Just because some people are going way to far, I think some asshole tried spreading false rumors about masuda doing sometihng illegal, doesn't mean the shared criticism is undeserved.
