And if you pay a small price of $5 a month you can get the new "Apple Search Premium" which gives you access to two whole pages of search results, as opposed to the 5 results you get with the free service. Or you can pay $15 a month for "Apple Search Pro" which gives you full access to every search result available, by rerouting you to the google search results page for the search term you entered. We know you'll pay, because it's got our logo on it.

The answer is yes, of course you can force Apple to allow other companies content on their devices. Google is made to do so, cannot think of a reason as to why Apple shouldn't be...

I believe Apple has an obligation at this stage to make a third party app store available. The Apps ecosystem is just too large, in my opinion, to be held to the authoritarian guidelines of "the" Appstore.

That being said, Apple is well within their legal right to remove Epic from their store. They establish their own rules, so they can (legally) do as they please without legal repurcussion.

It's all just a bit of a shame. Consumer loses out here.

I'm no fan of Apple but everyone knows exactly what they're signing up for when they have their apps on the store, Epic tried to wiggle a way around losing such a big cut and now the shit has hit the fan 🤷‍♂️

In recent years, AMD has been trying to enter the embeded PC industry that is occupied by either efficient ARM processors or Power hungry Intel Chips. Recently it has been found that the company is going to released an embedded version of their Zen 2 Lineup:

Thoughts: Wow when was the last time I've made a Tech News post? I was stuck inside the virtual youtuber hole doing things like video editing and Translations. The V2000 series seems to be a direct upgrade from mobile Zen+ processors the recent minisforum PC is using. I'm not sure what companies will be getting however and I don't expect the price to come cheap either.

Epic is trying to do a PR stunt, but they forgot they are hated by the people they are trying to provoke into action with this. they are acting like the good guy fighting the bad guy, but they forget that they've done plenty of anti consumer stuff...

Absolutely not. Being on the App Store is a privileged, not a right. Apple can take any developer off of the App Store for any reason.

    Source
    https://www.anandtech.com/show/16028/better-yield-on-5nm-than-7nm-tsmc-update-on-defect-rates-for-n5

    Summary
TSMC are indicating that the defect rate of their 5nm process is doing better than 7nm was at a comparable time in its life cycle relative to the introduction to High Volume Manufacturing. This is part attributed to the move to EUV, which reduces complexity in the process compared to the multiple steps of DUV required previously.

    Thoughts
TSMC are the current leaders in silicon device production and this should help keep them in that spot, and also benefit those who use them to manufacture their chips. A node advancement brings with it advantages, some of which are also shown in the slide. It will be really interesting to see what hardware we get once that hits PC tech mainstream in the not too distant future. It is also interesting to see 6nm on that slide, which Intel have ordered some of for future production.

If this ends up being true, I'm mad... Why has the midrange option doubled in price in the last 5 years? And it'll likely be more than $400, because that's what the 2060 Super was.

    The 660, 760, 960 were all around $200. 1060 jumped to $250, 2060 was $349 (reduced to $300 for the TU104), and the 2060 Super was $400. I can see the 3060 being $450.

I'm not buying that the 1060 is more appropriately succeeded by the 1660... That card succeeds the 1050 ti, the 1650 succeeds the 1050.

F.E.A.R. reacted to soldier_ph in Thermaltake wants to revolutionize the way how you apply Thermal Paste
    Summary
Thermaltake, the Taiwanese Case, PSU and cooling components manufacturer, releases two new Thermal Pastes, the TG-30 and TG-50, with a special twist: It includes a uniquely shaped stencil that is just as big as a LGA 11xx or AM4 IHS. The Stencil has a Honey comb pattern that allows you to evenly spread out the Thermal Paste onto the IHS. The packaging of each the TG-30 and TG-50 include the Thermal Paste itself, a spudger, the stencil with the Honey comb design that is made out of Acrylic and two Alcohol cleaning wipes. The TG-30 boasts a thermal conductivity of 4.5 W/m-k, while the TG-50 delivers up to 8 W/m-k. Thermaltake sells the TG-30 and TG-50 for $8.99 and $11.99 MSRP, respectively.

    My thoughts
This is bit a ridiculous, like they don't have to reinvent the Wheel here. Thermal Paste application is already easy enough, just place a decent sized dot in the middle and you're good to go. IMO. But I think this might be a bit helpful for those people who built a PC for the first time but then you gotta clean the stencil and spudger afterwards and you waste quite a bit of the Thermal Paste in the process. Well I guess to each their own but I will stick to the normal application method with Higher End Thermal Pastes like NT-H2 and Thermal Grizzly.
