  1. I just bought my Asus MOBO with a Ryzen 5600X. I know that the X570 series are compatible with the 3000 and 5000 series but does the MOBO require a BIOS update? And if so, how do I make a BIOS update? Can any one give me instructions on how to do so? This is my first time doing this.
  2. @NeedfuldoerThank you! I'll get a kit with 2x8 1333Mhz. Also thanks for the manual. The bottom cover "compartment cover" has 2 thermal pads stick to it (the HD is right under the cover). Should I change these thermal pads in the future? I've never done this before so I don't have any experience (I have little to no experience with Laptops though). For better thermal performance I mean. I looked at the pads and they're glued as rock to the cover, I guess it's to prevent them from falling from high heat. I used to use this laptop a lot back for gaming and it was good, however it would overheat a lot, so I to usually went to the computer tech to fix it before buying a cooling pad. I've read that thermal pads deteriorate over time so it would be good replace every replaceable pad in the laptop. One thing that the computer tech screwed me over the years was, they never cleaned the laptop form the inside nor changed the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. My brother opened the laptop (it was his first time) a year ago and it was filled with dust and the thermal paste dried up. Well got that thing fixed though. @8tgI'll just throw 2x8 1333Mhz in. I don't want to mix RAM from different manufacturers, because I used to do that on my first PC (I had not exp at the time) and it didn't go well.
  3. I'll do it but it will take some time because I don't have the proper equipment.
  4. Now hyped because it supports up to 16GB RAM. This is the closest thing I could find Samsung NP300E4A-A04PH Series 3 Notebook
  5. I want to upgrade my old laptop in the following months, however I cannot determine nor find the exact model I have. I want to upgrade the RAM and the Hard Disk. Windows 10 shows that I have 4 RAM slots (3rd slot in use, 4gb), however the models that I found on the Internet list that the laptop has 2 RAM slots. Because I do not have a manual and cannot find one on the Internet, I don't know whether this laptop from 2012 supports more than 8GB of RAM 1333MHz. That's my whole concern, if it does than that's great. Here's my laptops specs For a laptop from 2012 it honestly stands strong even with a 1 RAM slot and a weak HD. The Intel CPU is still a beast, the only thing that backs me down is the slow HD and the 1 RAM slot.
  6. I know about the new DLSS but compare to AMD the RX 400 and 500 series, the GTX 10 series haven't gotten a performance boost. Not an Nvidia fan boy, it's just that I have an Nvidia card and the GTX 1050 TI is a joke of a card (my PC was pre built, it was gifted to me), and a few years later they released GTX 1650 Super which outperforms the GTX 1050 TI and GTX 1650. Nvidia just rolling around cards trolling the customers.
  7. Sorry I didn't express my self correctly. What I meant was, can Nvidia boost the performance of their GPU's with driver updates just like AMD has always done with their cards. cards just got gimped into the ground hard for basically no reason because maxwell really wasn’t any better on the mid range cards. And it happened again with Maxwell when Pascal launched. However they’re now doing the opposite where Turing and Pascal cards are getting decent driver improvements because Turing is getting recycled and their users can’t really buy a new card anyway, so they’re aiming for some kind of long term value thing to have under their name like AMD did with the 7970. But damn, if you have a GTX 770 or something lying around, revert back a low of driver versions because those cards have lost something like 10-15% of their average performance over the years due to software alone. It’s to the point where benchmarks from the era versus now are flip flopped. I have GTX 1050 TI. Wait what about pascal GPU's? Why aren't they updating them too since most PC users already have 10 series cards, and many couldn't upgrade to the 20 series because of the little performance boost and because they were overpriced.
  8. I see, thank you for your answer. I thought it would be easy like bringing your GPU to some technicians, paying as much as needed to make it better (to modify it), but yeah it's not an easy task like you explained. Although I'm curious. Can Nvidia actually boost performance of their old cards like AMD with drivers? Or is it something Nvidia doesn't want to?
  9. Considering the current chaotic situation with GPU's and I my self don't see it going back to how it was, I came here to search for answers. Basically can a GPU be modified to be better? Like changing a GTX 1050 TI it's memory with a newer faster one (I used to watch a video on YT some guys changing the memory of a 2080 TI from 14GB to 16 if I remember correctly). It doesn't have to be the memory basically, anything that can make it better. Because of the situation most of the masses are stuck on old GPU's like me.
  10. OK so I was in a hurry when I made this thread, so sorry for not specifying my specs and what my aim is. My budget is 300 euros and I'm looking to play games at 1440p and I prefer the monitor to be 165hz (can go with 144hz), VA or IPS for me doesn't matter that much, while IPS has better colors, VA has better darker colors as far as I know, as long is it gets the job done, VA or IPS doesn't matter as long as it's not TN. Currently I cannot afford to buy a GPU because of the situation so at last upgrading my monitor will be good, because I need it for MP games like CSGO and Dota, heck even for SP games. @DedayogNot many reviews on the MSI monitors, except for reading comments that some experience ghosting and that out of the box settings are shit, so you need to adjust the settings manually for the ghosting to be gone. There's a review on the Samsung monitor, but I still don't like it compare to the MSI monitors. @R3dbullDrinkerBoth MSI monitors are VA panels. I play competitive CSGO and Dota 2 but also single player games. @xg32My budget is 300 euros. Also the monitors you mentioned aren't available in my country, I cannot order from Amazon, I can only order from ComputerUniverse from my country.
  11. OK so actually I will be upgrading my monitor (finally from 60hz), but I don't know which monitor should I get, I've been watching reviews yet I'm in a dilemma not knowing which one is the right choice. samsung odyssey g5 c27g55t MSI Optix g27cq4 MSI Optix G27CQ4P
  12. It was the PSU that started to kill the GPU. So both the PSU and GPU are for a replacement. Between an RX 550 2GB or GTX 1050 2GB which is better?
  13. I see so it's either the PSU, which certainly is, or there is a possibility that the GPU is dying. Like mb downclocking the GPU could help?
  14. He doesn't know, but both of us doubt that the PSU is generic 500W. It's certainly not a brand PSU.
  15. The PC is a friend mine I forgot to mention, so here are the specs. motherboard: msi h55m-e23 CPU: i3 540 @3.07 GHz RAM: 8 GB (4x2) graphics: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7770 1 GB VRAM SSD: 250GB HD: 1TB The PC is over 10 years old, 11-12 years old I think. But I doubt that the GPU is dying. So IDK what could else be the problem.
  16. After a clean install of Win10 Pro, I doubt the GPU is causing flickering, black screen and freezes. What could be the cause of this problem? The driver is the latest installed. Is it a driver issue or something to do with the GPU itself?
  17. It's no the GPU, it's the CPU bottlenecking the GPU like Jensen said, that's why it's not 80% faster.
  18. It wasn't worth it if you had a GTX 1080 Ti, the RTX 2080 Ti is around 23% faster than the GTX 1080 Ti. But I get there are people that don't care about value and will buy it anyway. The RTX 2000 was just Nvidia experimenting with their RT tech and overpricing the cards because of no competition. And yeah the RTX 3090 is overpriced as hell. Even if it's a behemoth of a card, we can't justify it's price.
