That is blatantly false and I'd be suspect of any advice you receive from that person.

You'll need the higher bandwidth of DP 1.4 to achieve 165Hz at 1440p. Make sure the monitor is set to its DisplayPort input and if necessary try multiple DP ports on the GPU.

Yes, I will buy a new one and try it out.

huh? What do you mean it's not compatible with new hardware?

I don't think that's why you are getting a black screen, displayport is not outdated or anything. It's available on all new hardware I've seen

    Yep, that's normal. Use DisplayPort.

The display port out of the box of my monitor I ran into a constant black screen loop. It wasn't a thing when I changed to HDMI. I was told that it's old tech and it's not compatible that's why the black screen cause.

  3. My monitor is LG 31.5'' UltraGear™ QHD 1440p 165hz, yet my display resolution only shows 1440p/144hz with my HDMI 2.0. The DPI cable didn't make a problem displaying 165hz however it wasn't compatible with new hardware and it would show only a black screen.

HDMI 2.0 still limits me to 144hz despite having a Ryzen 5600x, RTX 3600 and Asus TUF Plus X570 plus.

  4. Sekiro is its own genre. The only "souls" like thing is the difficulty. Sekiro has the best combat system in the history of gaming. It forces you to deflect (parry) attacks from small lizards to literal Dragons, has incredible stealth mechanics, and a combination of arts and items to use. People just want to dodge and kite an NPC, while Sekiro forces you to fight, but 1 vs 1, the game doesn't encourage you to hack and slash through enemies. I've been playing the game since 2020 up until 2022 "file shared", then I bought it on Steam and replayed it with all achievements gathered. It's one of the best games in the history of gaming, and I hope Fromsoftware uses the mechanics from Sekiro for a new game in the future. It's also the only Fromsoftware game to be properly ported on PC because the publisher is Activision and not have those console controls when you start up on PC.

So you completely nuked three drives because cpu use went up momentarily when you opened a program?

You say split second, do you mean literally less than one second?

Yes because all search results point to a hidden virus, just as the member above also said. The important things that I had, I moved them to my USB. It just took me 2hrs, no big deal, but I'm still afraid because something like this did not happened previously. I even scanned with Malwarebytes but everything is clean.

I once had a virus that would disappear as soon as I hovered over it in task manager.  I useda  program called (searches through history of downloads...) Process Explorer(?) to see what was running.  Then I followed the file path and deleted the troublesome exe file.  Easy as pie.  If you are lucky it'll be that easy.

I downloaded the MS Process App, how do I recognize a virus?

  7. So I noticed recently that whenever I open task manager for a split second the CPU usage is between 43-100% and immediately goes down to 4%. This has never happened before, and I'm afraid it's because of the newest Nvidia driver, but I reverted back to the previous version and yet there's no change. Any help? Anything I should be worried?

    Specs:

    AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X

    ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS

    (2x8) Kingston FURY™ Beast DDR4 3200mhz CL16

    GeForce RTX™ 3060 EAGLE OC 12G (rev. 2.0)

    Win10 pro 64 on Kingston A400 SATA SSD 480GB
    EVGA Supernova 750W G2L

  8. Big thanks to @IkeaGnomeand @SpookyCitrusfor helping me installing my new GPU.

The answers are above but in short terms here it is: The EVGA 750w Gold G2L PSU has universal ports, so it's not like the standard PSU, it doesn't matter in which port it goes in, as long as above is written Universal. The GPU works fine, and the reason why my system couldn't boot is because I somehow accidentally unplugged the cable to my SSD which is on my Win10 and that's why it couldn't let me boot up. I installed the latest Nvidia driver with clean install, and it runs perfectly.

There's a couple things to change in there. Your ram is not running at XMP speeds. For now, it seems your boot drive isn't showing up in your boot priority list. Push F8. What shows up?

I set up my ram in advanced settings to 3200mhz it shows on the windows too but idk why the bios shows 2400 on front page.

Am i suppose to set up PCI in advanced settings for GPU?

    F8 there's no bootable device.

What does your cable end look like, is it a separate cable you have bought to use with the GPU or is it one that came with the PSU. This PSU uses very specific cables and if the cable is not for this specific PSU it isn't going to work. If the cable you have is the clear connector like all the others with this particular unit you can just plug it into any open port on the PSU labeled universal, they're "universal" in the sense that you can plug any of the PSUs included cables into any of the ports, but they are not universal with other brands of cables.

This is the cable that I'm trying to plug in. IMG_20221027_180433.thumb.jpg.c3ca65525db751d0dea140ee21c2e7d6.jpg

Edit: I use my PSU's cables that came with it. I don't use any other cables for my PC.

  11. 3 minutes ago, SpookyCitrus said:

If the cable came with the PSU there should only be a few 8pin connectors, usually the only cables that use 8pin on the PSU side are CPU and GPU, so there should only be a few to plug it into, and usually on the PSU it will have the correct spots labeled PCIE or VGA, that's where it plugs into. If you are not sure, you can add a picture to the post of the PSU, or read your manual that came with it, it should have a diagram with labeled ports.

I cannot find IMG_20221027_174615.thumb.jpg.f80bcd0fbbbd7987433cc901ab9f6748.jpgthe manual, here's a picture of it.

Following months of rumors and leaks, it seems like we might actually find out for sure what's happening with the Silent Hill series this week. Konami announced something it's calling the Silent Hill Transmission will be happening on October 19 in a tweet (opens in new tab) that opens by quoting Silent Hill 2's tagline, "In your restless dreams, do you see that town?"

Silent Hill art director and monster designer Masahiro Ito retweeted the announcement (opens in new tab), if that counts for anything.

There have been rumors of multiple studios working on Silent Hill games, seemingly confirmed by Christophe Gans, director of the Silent Hill movie. There were leaked images hit by a DMCA strike from Konami, suggestions that Bloober Team (developer of The Medium) was making a Silent Hill game, perhaps a remake of Silent Hill 2, and something called Silent Hill: The Short Message was rated by South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee last month.

Konami's tweet links to a website (opens in new tab) that currently just displays the time the Silent Hill Transmission is scheduled for. Whatever it turns out to be, it'll be broadcast at 2pm PT/10pm BST on October 19, which is 8am AEST on October 18. Let's hope it's not just announcing another Silent Hill skateboard with a nurse on it (opens in new tab).

Konami announces a Silent Hill 'Transmission' with the 'latest updates' for the series

    Quote

It wrote on Sunday: “In your restless dreams, do you see that town? The latest updates for the SILENT HILL series, will be revealed during the #SILENTHILL Transmission on Wednesday, October 19th, at 2:00 PM. PDT”

A teaser website has also been launched for Silent Hill, with a countdown to the October 19 event.

The classic horror game series, which debuted on PSOne in 1999, hasn’t seen a mainline instalment since 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour.

Original Silent Hill artist Masahiro Ito counted down to, and then retweeted the Silent Hill announcement on Sunday, suggesting he is involved.

Ito served as the Konami horror series’ art director for its first three instalments, as well as designing many of the creatures that featured in the game.

In 2020, Ito confirmed he was working on a new project. Posting on Twitter, Ito said: “I’m working on a title as a core member. I hope the title won’t be cancelled.” He added: “About that, I can tell you nothing yet.”

Notably, South Korea’s Game Rating committee recently rated an unannounced Silent Hill game, “Silent Hill: The Short Message”. The game’s publisher is listed as UNIANA, a company which regularly publishes Konami games in South Korea.

VGC first reported last February that Konami was planning to revive the long-dormant horror game series.

One project said to be in development is a playable teaser. Alleged images for this project appeared online earlier this year, one of which appears to be concept art dated October 20, 2020, and signed by Masahiro Ito.

According to multiple reports, a Silent Hill 2 remake is also understood to be one of the games in active development. Images reportedly showing an early demo for the remake appeared online last month.

Christophe Gans, the director of the 2006 Silent Hill movie, has also reportedly written the script for a new live-action production.

One studio constantly linked to the Silent Hill franchise is The Medium studio Bloober Team. Last year the Polish developer announced a “strategic co-operation agreement” with Konami, months after Bloober’s CEO claimed it was working on an existing horror IP from “a very famous gaming publisher”.

Silent Hill’s composer Akira Yamaoka even worked on Bloober’s 2021 title The Medium and teased his next game project by stating that it was “the one you’ve been hoping to hear about.”

Konami has finally confirmed a Silent Hill reveal event

  13. Yesterday I just upgraded to an AMD platform (form Intel) and the problem I've encountered is that my Windows gets stuck on version 20H2 and won't update. I formatted and reinstalled it again, but the same problem persists. This has never happened before on my old Intel MOBO and on my friends Intel laptops. One thing I've noticed when Windows was updating, the AMD updates all failed to install (Infinity fabric and I don't remember the rest). It keeps saying "Your device is missing security and quality fixes" and it doesn't update to the latest 21H2 version. I don't understand what's causing the problem.

  14. OK so I've tried entering the ASUS BIOS but it won't let me. The ASUS logo does not appear when starting and restarting the computer. I've pressed many times the F2 and Delete key but nothing. and the only thing that shows up is

"No Signal. Entering the power saving mode shortly. An incorrect DisplayPort version setting will cause the screen to be blank. If this occurs, make sure the DisplayPort version of your monitor matches the device is connected to".

And after this, it just enters Windows 10 normally. I've tried restarting the PC numerous times and shutting it down and on and it doesn't work.

The store where they put my parts in my PC entered the BIOS but I cannot enter it.

    Here are my specs.

    ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS

    RYZEN 5600X

    1TB Samsung NVME 2.0 970 SSD

    Kingston 480GB SSD

    1TB HDD 5200RPM

GTX 1050 TI (Waiting for my RTX 3060 to arrive)

    2x8 Kingston Beast 3200mhz cl16

LG Monitor (I forgot the model) 1440p 165mhz
