Upgrade current build or build another PC

Yeah , I guess it would be a waste to not spend my money on new hardware when the new components became so cheap anyway. Thanks for replying !

Upgrade current build or build another PC

I was actually thinking of the exact same build but I was sceptical about the extra cost on the motherboard , storage( I don't want to format my current HDD) and even on the case because I want to keep the old one(if I build a new PC) functional because I don't want to let a basically full PC lying around . But the new build ideea seems for efficient and future proof .Thanks for replying!

  4. Hello So I finally decided to upgrade my PC here are the specs: MSI H61M-P31/W8 Intel I3 3240 3.4 GHz 4 GB DDR3 1333Mhz Sapphire Vapor X ATI HD 5870 ( 1 GB) 600 W PSU I was thinking of buying an I7 2600k and overclock it for around 90$ , a 2x8 DDR3 kitfor around 80 $ and a GTX 1070 for 190 $(used) and replacing them on my current setup. My question is if there are any newer components that would advantage me and with I could build something for around 400-450$ ? Or are there better upgrades then what I listed above for around 400 $ ? Thanks for answering.

    Strange PCI-E pins

Ok so I wanted to upgrade my GPU so I checked my GPU pins because I didn't build this PC and I didn't know what kind of PSU I have. So when I checked I saw that they are 2x6+2 pins coming from a single cable. Is this a legit one I couldn't find a PSU model like mine. It is a High Power 600W(attached ptohots with it and the pins). Also I had it paired with an Sapphire Vapor X HD 5870(I know antique stuff) which required 2x6 pin and I had to underclock it to 425 mHz because otherwise some strange lines would appear on screen under load and I had to hard reset. Could it be that this cable is not a true 2x6 pin ? And also could I use this cable for a 8 pin or 2x8 pin GPU ? Thanks for answering.
