I am a newbie in this forum, though i have been following linus for a long time. Please be nice to me!
After i played a videogame my PC suddenly overheated to 91C. After seeing that i immediately restarted the system. Now whenever i try to boot it up everything lights up for a second, fans spin for 1 second, and then it goes dark again. It wont react to any more power-button presses. CPU Led lights up red, that is the only thing i can make out.
Summary of what is going on:
after CPU overheated i restarted the pc
Red CPU Led lights up briefly
everything turns on for 1 second and goes off again
have this PC in since 6~ years, worked perfectly fine yesterday
What i have tried already:
removed RAM sticks and tried booting with 1-2 of them (with the GPU)
removed the GPU and tried booting
tried booting without any drives attached
took out the CPU and put it back in (no bent pin from what i have seen)
tried booting without the CPU cooler
dusted it off nicely!
