  1. Hello! I found a really good deal on a lightly used Quest 1. I don't have any USB C ports on my RTX 2060 or motherboard, so I was wondering if I can use USB type A? Or would I need a USB C PCIe expansion card? Thank you in advance!
  2. To check if it actually died, you will need to try to install an operating system like Windows or Ubuntu (or whatever version of Linux you want). Under Custom install for windows, if your drive shows up, its fine. If it doesn't, its dead
  3. Your drive died, you will need a new one and install windows on it. I recommend this one: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-120GB-Solid-SA400S37-120G/dp/B01N6JQS8C/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3FP2RHD511IGO&dchild=1&keywords=kingston+240gb+ssd&qid=1588538178&sprefix=kingston+24%2Caps%2C279&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFFRVlCMUoyVDAxNEsmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAzMjc0MjEzUURIWEdCWkcyWFJTJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxMzcxODUySldHWkpVRkZHRUFOJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== Edit: Before you buy a new drive, just try reinstalling windows.
  4. I have a FlySky 6ch transmitter and receiver for an RC boat that I am renewing. Last year, I built it but the rudder actuator broke in the middle of the lake and I could not swim in it as it was infested with leaches and I didn't have salt or a towel. (I bike to the lake) I left it over night and got it in the morning. This time I am upgrading it with water cooling. I am going to do a DIY pump from a little brushed motor I have had sitting around for a while. I want to be able to power it from my receiver, but I would also like to be able to toggle the motor. Is there a good way to do this? I am not sure what channel I will connect it to, just as long as I can bind a switch to it (probably ch5). Thanks for anyone who helps, it means alot to me!
  5. One of your problems is your ram. You have 1 8gb stick of 2400MHz RAM. Ryzen likes fast, dual channel memory. Get at least 3200 MHz RAM for second gen, and get it in dual channel. Was this a prebuild or did you build it?
  6. wow.... I have had my laptop for about 5 months and not getting things like that yet. Also, you seem to really like the number two
  7. Guys, I found a good pinebook alternitive. It is an Acer C720 Renewed. I actually have one of these,(dad got it when it was new, but since got an actual windows PC) with the 2gb ram with a 64gb SSD, and you have yourself an OK laptop for around 100 dollars! The Laptop https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXGJNPF/ref=twister_B07WV5N5MR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 The SSD https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-128GB-MTS430S-Solid-TS128GMTS430S/dp/B07KG2G152/ref=sr_1_3?crid=10RGQS991R8P&keywords=transcend+64gb+msata+ssd&qid=1585202681&sprefix=trancend+%2Caps%2C255&sr=8-3 A guide for how to get windows up and running on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mykS0A1f3wI All of this was the exact same equipment and guides I used and was able to get it working. I cannot provide any benchmarks scores, as my dad wanted it back so I had to install ChromeOS back onto it. Once you follow all of this stuff, ChromeOS can be restored. It performed all right, ran chrome, office applacations, and even extremely light games just fine. For the games, I played Factorio and Minecraft. Minecrafts settings had to be bare minimum and almost bare minimum for Factorio. Both games ran at about 30-40 FPS for me. I also tried Linux, and honestly, it performed similarly. I used both for about a year. For someone on a budget looking for a cheap windows machine that can actually do something, as long as you are willing to do a bit of tinkering, you should be fine. But honestly, for 100 dollars, it is actually quite a good little computer. Also, one thing that separates this from the pinebook is that it can actually be a daily driver.
  8. Sorry. You could always buy it then sell both and get an RTX 2070
  9. yes. Just get an RTX 2080 or as they say, the single best card you can afford
  10. 1. Windows 7 expiration date is coming up in less than 6 months, so switch to 10 2. If you are packing that powerful of a rig, you should try upgrading power supply, I don't think the GPU was the issue. I think the PSU was not supplying enough power to the GPU, but this is just a guess. 3. I recommend you look at benchmark scores and to figure out which one has better price to performance

Why not upgrade?
