My work just got Ryzen Threadripper 5995WX PRO (64C/128T) for *reasons I’m not comfortable to mention* and I’ve been having a blast with running benchmarks, recording temps & acoustic. The fun burns out really quick since I’ve already ran almost everything I wanted. What would y’all try with this if you have a chance? Cheers!

You can't add OS on a drive with data already there without losing those, as far as I know. Best solution that I can think of is, copy all the data from B: to C: first. Clone the OS Drive and install it on B: drive. Then, copy back the data from C: to B:. Format C: for 2nd PC. There might be OS license issue since you're gonna be 2PC with 1 license. Cheers!

6 cores is all you need for gaming
EXTRADODO replied to Choli90's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
It all come down to what your usage gonna be. If you're like me who play game without streaming or running a bunch of chrome tabs and apps in background, I'm sure 6C is enough for it. You won't be getting the best of the best performance but it's already on good spot for gaming. If you have to open a bunch of software beside game+discord, better cores might looks better. It depends on how you gonna be using. Cheers! -
Price of AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX (64Cores) ???

It would be great if the do. Unfortunately, they don't. Lenovo is the only one that I know of. -
Price of AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX (64Cores) ???
EXTRADODO replied to EXTRADODO's topic in New Builds and Planning
We just wanted to know how much the price difference between 2 difference specs. I'm planning to upgrade the RAM to 512GB if we were to choose that. -
Download and install windows 10 and click troubleshoot in Setting > License and it will auto-fill the key that you already have on windows 7. If it's the key that you want, try the below steps. 1. Go to https://gist.github.com/craigtp/dda7d0fce891a087a962d29be960f1da 2. Copy/Paste that source code to notepad and save as .vbs 3. Run it and it will pop up the ID and serial numbers. ※Tried it just now before commenting just to make sure that works.

Are these prices look okay? Anyone know how much 5995WX would cost if it were purchasable like previous gen? - - - We need 5995WX for some work for the office and the only way I know how to get it is through Lenovo. So, I contacted them and ask for quotations for lowest and specific higher spec. Lowest : 11,000$ Spec : 5995WX / Windows10Pro / CastlePeakV1.2 Mobo / 8GB DDR4 3200MHz / Quadro P1000 / 256GB NVMe / 1000W PSU. Higher : 25,800$ Spec : 5995WX / Windows10Pro / CastlePeakV1.2 Mobo / 512GB DDR4 3200MHz / RTX A6000 48GB / 1TB NVMe / 2TB HDD / 1000W PSU. - - - ※This is for architecture 3D company in Japan. - - -

You boy need help with "External SSD", again...
EXTRADODO replied to EXTRADODO's topic in Storage Devices
Thanks @mariushm . It's looking great. Is there a thing as PCIe 4.0 External SSD with 2~3GB/s read and write? -
I've made 2 of external SSD with M.2 (TREBLEET TRECNC583) and 2.5" (can't remember). Both are great, usable without error, bigger and faster in term of storage and speed. I need to make another one. And I want to make bigger storage with M.2 speed. Anyone have any recommendations for the Enclosure case + SSD combo? Thanks in advanced.

Ryzen Threadripper Build suggestions?
EXTRADODO replied to EXTRADODO's topic in New Builds and Planning
We don't have Ebay in Japan as far as I know. But there are 2nd hand market like Ebay which I can't put my trust in those tbh. -
Temp readings are way more than what it suppose to be. Fans running at full speed thinking those are the real cpu temp. How do I fix this? -- > Tried setting Fan Speed to 900 RPM manually. Didn't work. > Tried setting Fan Speed to 50% manually. Didn't work. > Tried start / restart the corsair services and update the AIO firmware. Failed and can't update. > CPU temp reading in HWinfo is the same 35*C. -- Note : I've already ordered Scythe Fuma 2 for the replacement for the mean time.

Ryzen Threadripper Build suggestions?
EXTRADODO replied to EXTRADODO's topic in New Builds and Planning
Thanks but I'm looking forward to build it myself rather then the pre-build ones since this is a rare chance for me to add some experience in pc building. Would love to try to run Windows on VM but I'm not that familiar with linux. Thanks for the input but I know the down sides and still want to go with the Threadripper. Some of the team member use CPU rendering and those 64 cores are not gonna be a waste tbh. Can't go with EPYC 7702 since those are much more rare than the threadripper ones. (And, to be completely honest, I know nothing about it) Thanks for the mobo and ram recommendations. -
Ryzen Threadripper Build suggestions?
EXTRADODO replied to EXTRADODO's topic in New Builds and Planning
We already got 5950X. It's amazing but I thought we could go higher since we already got the budget. (pure luck btw) Thank you. I thought I should for the next gen too but I'm a bit afraid to wait since AMD didn't give out even a hint of that next gen.
