If the add eSIM option isn’t in the Cellular settings, maybe it’s carrier locked? Check Settings > General > About. Or there’s a corporate device management policy restricting that - if they check Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, any certificates should be listed with what’s restricted

Did he buy it from Apple or though a carrier? It possible the phone is carrier-locked in this case.

For example the LG gram is very light. i dont think you're going to find an ARM device thats anything lighter than that. You have to be aware that windows laptop battery can range anywhere from 4 hours to 20 hours, you really have to pick the right one. If you pick a power hungry CPU (intel 10th/11th gen are rather power hungry) the battery is obviously gonna be less.
Not sure what you mean by always on. Lets try not to  leave laptops always on and always plugged into the wall. that will destroy the battery in anydevice regardless of whats powering it.

VLC has a windows for ARM version in the windows store.
Torrex is a torrent software that exist for ARM. Also in the windows store.
There does not appear to be a whatsapp ARM app. Only web based one.

... Overall, unless the cost is heavily discounted, I would avoid an ARM based Windows computer.

M4A is a container so the audio inside is either already compressed in AAC or uncompressed ALAC. If the former, as mentioned, its already compressed so if its not small enough you're simply going to have to re-encode to something else with lower quality settings.

Hi @whispous, I think @idh1oi12jkl31jk2bgve3jk12b has a mac or hackintosh that is stuck on that version due to or mac hardware being that old that it's no longer supported by apple in newer releases or the hackintosh setup would break when upgrading (probably also due to a mix of hardware dependent reasons and software fiddly diddly to make things work).

Having said that, to answer @idh1oi12jkl31jk2bgve3jk12b his question. I think you'r'e heavily dependent on what was written in change-logs to assess if the code would still run. Otherwise you'd have to go trial & error I'm afraid. Maybe firefox would be a better alternative than chromium based browsers on such hardware? My experience is that firefox works well as browser way after os support by Apple etc. was lost.

I assume by compression you mean something else other than using e.g. 7-zip to compress the file to a .7zip? More like optimize it to still keep a .pdf, at a smaller file size?

idh1oi12jkl31jk2bgve3jk12b reacted to Eigenvektor in I used a reality long Ethernet cable to connect another router - did I do it right?
Using DHCP means the second router automatically gets an IP assigned from the first router. Which is fine, but you typically want routers and servers to have static, well-known IP addresses. So it would probably make more sense to manually configure it to use something like 192.168.0.2, if the first router uses 192.168.0.1.

Two routers acting as DHCP server and handing out IP addresses can be acceptable if, as you said, their IP ranges do not overlap. But you also want to make sure that devices connected to them understand that these are different networks, meaning you need to set an appropriate netmask.

But, in most cases you actually want the second router to run in bridge mode, meaning it simply passes stuff on to the first router and doesn't run as an independent DHCP and doesn't do double-NAT.

    https://www.howtogeek.com/867942/what-is-router-bridge-mode/

Your phone taking a while to switch between networks can have multiple reasons. Usually, a device will try to stay in its current Wi-Fi as long as possible. Which means it might still be able to see the basement Wi-Fi, even though its too weak to be usable. That effectively prevents it from switching to the other network, until it figures out the current one is actually too weak to use.

If you walk from basement to another area, check which router it is connected to/how long it takes before it switches. Once it switches, check how long it takes before it gets a new IP address from the other router and whether it also receives all the other important bits, like DNS and default gateway. If, from the phone's point of view, this is still the same network (e.g. 192.168.0.x / 255.255.255.0) it might not switch IPs at first, since it thinks it is still in the same network and should be able to communicate.

we cant help you with that, because of community guidelines.

if their computer guy left and took the admin password with him, there's legal action the company can take to regain access to their own systems, and then either delegate that access to an internal admin, or to a new IT partner.

this is normal for bluetooth headphones, if you use the stereo option, the mic wont work, but you get better audio quality. if you use the hands free option, you can use your mic to make discord calls,... but it sounds pretty crappy.
use it in stereo mode for normal use.

    depends
what cpu do you have now and is that the only other upgrade you would make if not
it might be easier getting a 10th or 11th gen board with a cheap i3
i imagine 130 or less for a cpu
for a used 7th gen or 6th gen it wouldnt be bad but it all depends again what your using now and how you plan to use your computer

meh, youd have to pay for gsuite or o365 now that I look at it.

Really depends, if money is no object here and you just want simplicity, then all you gotta do is buy the domain name you want ("whatever.com") and then sign up for email hosting through I'd recommend Microsoft office365 but you can use google or any other one. the bigger the name the easier it will be to find a guide to set it all up.

If $48/year per user + probably $15 for the .com is too much then there are other options but they involve a bit more technical effort.

Do you have multiple email addresses you'll want on the domain or just one?
    You have a couple options:
    1) port the domain (easiest) or redirect the domain to microsoft and setup microsoft email. I use it personally and it's like $5/email/month
    2) port the domain or redirect to cloudflare, the difference here is their email is in "beta" but it basically forwards any email to that address to another email address, not as clean but an option that's free.

Works with Thunderbird, Outlook, whatever, has very nice webmail client that works well on mobile as well, no complaints.  No ads, gmail to parse emails and serve me ads, clean interface etc

If it's mission critical, and you haven't run an email server before, just subscribe to a hosted solution like Office 365 or GSuite. There's too much can go wrong too easily if you try to self-host.
