  1. So just to update the thread, I found out the answer. You don't need a HOSTING PLAN if you are just using biz email account. Google has it's own UI ("Google Domains") which can do this for you - free of charge (it's part of Google Workspace). No external hosting plan needed. Thx all!
  2. I thought exactly this, but someone told me you must also purchase a HOSTING plan. But maybe he's wrong. Maybe someone here can give us the answer Thx
  3. we have 5 users - each needs their own email address. i appreciate the answer but that's a bit above my pay grade just wanted to know WHERE (with who) you guys would recommend I should open a HOSTING plan (sucks that it costs more money though - I did not know this. PS - it's a tiny biz, trying to keep it froogle
  4. So, I was unaware of this. But after buying a DOMAIN name from GoDaddy (hope that's good), I was then told that this isn't enough, and I also need HOSTING (no idea why). Not for actual website (!), but just so we can have our own email address (instead of @gmail.com). What's affordable and good? Advice is appreciated! Thx so much!
  5. Hi. Thx in advanced for the help. Small office. 6 stations. Each user needs and Email account. What are my options? I need to keep cost to the lowest. Thx so much
  6. I know this might be weird but I am trying to restore a regular usb thumb drive from Sandisk to factory settings, but I am not sure which FileSystem should I format it to. What is the default/shipped from factory? Thanks so much!
  7. I see that YouTube and Netflix both support AV1. I currently have the Walmart ONN - which is really good for $21. But it has no AV1 decoding. Anyone knows of such device\streamer? Thank you
  8. Hi. I have a good Xiaomi phone which I no longer need. Can I connect it to my 1080p monitor and run native linux from it? is this even possible? Thank you!
  9. Hi all. I fresh installed MacOs High Sierra. Great. I set a Username and Password (which I remember!). I then decided to change the Password. It worked. I can now go through the Lock Screen with my new pass (3 digits). Ok cool. But just now I tried to install VLC, and the Mac wants me to confirm this as safe. So I go to Users and Groups and I am clocking the LOCK icon, I insert my Username and Pass - and ERORR! Won't recognize! What? Why? Thanks so much for the help! WhatsApp Video 2022-03-22 at 12.40.11
  10. Curious about this, if anyone has advice. The professors in my University all use Word documents. Even the weekly assignments are in Word. I just replaced my dying and slow PC with something slightly better, but it was a fresh Windows install - so I don't have Office/Word. What do I do in such situation - if I'm really trying NOT to pay for subscription for Office 365. Microsoft no longer offers pay-once and purchase Word/Office? I really don't use Word at all, I just need to submit papers and be able to open HW assignments in Word. Microsoft Office Online SUCKS - so I really need the app. No way to get Word for cheap? Advice? Thanks so much!
  11. These SSD results are quite good if I am not mistaken, right? (compared to a regular sata ssd drive)
  12. i am sure. I wasn't suggesting it's great, but was just surprised by how snappier Win10 is compared o MacOS High Sierra (I don't even want to tell you how bad later version were). Which surprised me because it is assumed that MacOS runs better on these machines (software-hardware integration). I am actually now tempted to give Windows 11 a try
  13. Had to share this So I use my laptop at home connected to a 1080p monitor. Practically always. I have an Early 2015 Macbook Air which has the I5-5250U and 4GB of RAM. I did a complete format of the MBA and restored it to the original OS - MacOS High Sierra. It was fine as a laptop, but when connected to my 1080p display - it would struggle and feel slow. 2 days ago I had the idea of trying to run Windows 10 on it. Natively. Complete wiped drive (no bootcamp and suff). And Windows 10 is NOTICABLY FASTER!!! It's now usable, actually, and I am just going to keep it since it does what I need it to do fine (YouTube, Email, Reading online, Google Docs). What do you guys make of this? Just wanted to share. Thanks.
  14. Thank you guys for the answers!!! I really appreciate that. This is what I meant by a Mini PC (affordable, small, can support 2 monitors if needed)
  15. Ok so I have a baseline for performance I would like to keep (don't want my work PC to lag), and it's the current Intel Pentium G4400 (Link here). Meaning, the G440 is sufficient for my needs (Word, Chrome, PDF editing, so on). But I would not go slower. I am running my G4400 with 1 monitor and 8GB of DDR4 RAM. Thing is, I am moving to a smaller space and thought of getting a Mini PC. Googled it, and found the Intel Celeron N5095 Mini PCs (Link here) (I am assuming this is the fastest CPU for a Mini PC? Is this correct?) Problem is, I am not sure if performance wise it MATCHES the G4400. So I put it in a table (see bellow). What totally threw me is when I put my Macbook Air from 2015 and checked the results - and I mean the Macbook Air is SLOW AF compared to my G4400 yet it gets close results. So what gives? Perhaps you can't really count on benchmarks when comparing Desktop CPUs to Mobile CPUs? Your thoughts please? Thanks so much!
  16. Anyone might help me figure this out? Isn't the laptop supposed to light up external monitor automatically? Thank you!
  17. wondering about it's power, processor. this thing sips wattage, yet very fast. i wonder - is this some sort of magic or is Google TV built differently than Android? Just confused since my Galaxy S8 doesn't feel this quick, yet this tiny device (it's really small - can't even fit an Etherent port) pushes 4K res like it's nothing.
  18. I need to install Win 7 on an office pc which uses an old piece of software. Is there a way to get a legit one (not tampered with, original). Thanks for the advice guys.
  19. this is am amazingly informative answer, thank you so much for sharing this info! i am a bit wiser now. tbh this makes me want to run the Plex sotfware on a raspberry pi device at home just to try this out.
  20. So basically it's worth jumping to the Core™ i3-1115G4 3.0GHz - 4.1GHz and paying the extra $ for it, right?
