  1. The left column of this keyboard has faulty LEDs: esc, tab, capslock and ctrl stuck on color red and shift does not turn on at all, but all the keys work fine. I'm assuming it's water damage, particularly considering the state of the shift LED. My question is, if I replace the faulty LEDs, would that resolve the issue? Or is it possible that there's additional damage to the board itself? Thank you! Edit: uploaded second image with power to the board and LED's set to OFF.
  2. Basically, I have a dual monitor setup and one of them randomly goes black, displaying the "hdmi no signal" message and stays black. However, windows still recognizes that there's 2 displays connected. Behavior: Turning OFF and ON the monitor doesn't fix it; Disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable fixes it; Restarting the computer fixes it; Changing from 75hz (max supported) to 60hz also fixes it and I can put it back on 75hz. What I've tried: New HDMI cable; Using another HDMI port; Tried the same monitor setup with windows desktop and linux laptop and happened with both; Factory reseted monitor settings; Reinstalled drivers and disabled decode flags on chrome. Not sure if it helps, but happened a few times in a row opening a video like this one. I always have chrome open when it happens, but I have chrome open 99% of the time. Monitor model: Asus VA24EHE Is there anything else I could try? Thanks!
  3. Hello everyone, I've been experiencing ping spikes every minute in games while connected to the 5Ghz but it doesn't happen on the 2.4Ghz. In fact, using 2.4 gives me almost the same ping as with using an ethernet cable with very little ping variation (And yes, I know I should use ethernet for online gaming, but it's inconvenient for my use case). For context, I'm using a laptop with the intel 9260 wifi card and the router is in the same room, about 4m from the laptop with nothing between them. I've tried changing the wifi card settings for the best performance, changing channels and bandwidth for the 5Ghz (my router has automatic with dfs by default but same results) and every tweak I could find to improve it, but no luck. Also tested the down/up speeds and are always consistent 200/100. Is this just one of those things about wifi that I can't do anything about (other than connecting to 2.4Ghz when I want to game) or could be something else like the channel overlap with my neighbours network? Thanks in advance!
  4. Yea, I also found a Reddit thread with someone saying the same for the 3500U, 4 max including the laptop screen. Thank you!
  5. Hey everyone, My work laptop (Thinpad e495) has a R5 3500U Vega 8 and I'd like to use 2 external monitors with it. I'm already using one external 1080p via the hdmi port and, since I have a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 (with PD and DisplayPort), my plan was to buy another 1080p usb-c monitor with power delivery like the Dell P2419HC (because the only usb-c port is also the charging port). But after some research, I found some spec documents about the model saying "Supports up to 2 independent displays via native display and 1 external monitor; supports external monitor via HDMI® (up to 3840x2160@30Hz) or USB-C (up to 3840x2160@60Hz)". I also found some people telling it should support up to 3 independent displays and not 2. I don't intend to use the laptop screen because it'll be closed, but I don't know it still counts to the limitation even if not in use. Either way, anyone knows the actual external monitor limit for this model? Thank you!
  6. My E495 came with a 65w charger, but I am considering to use the type-c port for a second external display, either with power delivery directly from the display or using a usb-c hub. However, I see a lot of options with pd bellow 65w, being 45w one of the common options and I wanted to know if 45w is enough to (at least) not lose battery under high loads? Thanks!
  7. Thank you for the explanation, that was very helpful. I'll dig a little deeper about the AX200.
  8. Hey there! A couple months ago I got a Thinkpad E495 that came with the Realtek 8822BE wifi + BT. For browser use its fine, but if I'm gaming on wifi it has pretty bad lag spikes all the time, which makes the game unplayable. So, I saw many people telling that the Intel 9260 is the best option, but I also asked on /r/Thinkpad and someone told me the AX200 is the way to go. What is the way to go? Thanks!
  9. Hey, I work as developer and I'm looking to retire my old Asus laptop. I like the Thinkpad line a lot and the E495/E595 are looking pretty sweet for my budget, but I'm wondering if it's the best bang for buck in my use case. Since I don't need dedicated graphics, my biggest concerns are: - FHD between 14-16''; - SSD (don't need lots of space, 250GB are enough); - 8GB RAM; - Recent i5/Ryzen 5 3500U (or better); Nice to have: - Decent battery life; - 5GHZ wifi and 4.2 or 5 BT; - USB C; - Upgradble RAM; - Ethernet port OS it's not a problem either since I'll just install Linux on it. If relevant, I'm from Portugal, but I can order it from any site that ships here. And that's pretty much it, thanks!
  10. Lovely! Thanks again, it was very helpful. ?
  11. Alrighty, thank you very much! Also, now that you're sure about the card, may I ask again why that model?
  12. And are we talking about a wifi and bt combo card here? I wasn't sure if it's the same for both
  13. I have never flipped the motherboard to check the card side, but everything else looks the same as that disassembly guide
