  1. You have somehow aroused an appetite within me after that knowledge impartment. I am physically hungry and excited to know more. Do it again!
  2. I will be pursuing certification in CompTIA ITF, A+, Network+, and Security+, plunging tip-first into the IT world. Having done that, I will be then pursuing over the - fairly prolonged - course of time my CISSP and CBAP. For the time being, the "end" goal is to become a Computer and Information Systems Manager. That is my day job goal. In free time, I will be doing additional studying and most likely developing AI models via Python and implementing papers, and perhaps writing some of my own. My hope is that I might eventually compose something valuable enough to sell of or offer as a cheap service and gain a considerable sum of money, and be able to purchase various machines and equipment to further snowball my knowledge and experience into a great glacier of tech and mats goodness by tinkering and developing on the fly. On a sidenote, has anyone got a lead on one-man processor development, and maybe like a course on chip architecture and the deepest internals of any and all computer components? Not sure what field that falls under. CompTIA is just operation and maintenance.
  3. Really? Dang. Well, what kinda degree we talkin? Bachelors, or all the way to doctorate?
  4. I am in need of guidance, fellow Sea/b/ass/tian/s Sebastians. I am on a long, long journey, and this is only the beginning. To start, my long term goal is to be a cutting edge genius beyond what even Elon or his child could hope to become(shoot for the moon, and all that). Short term goal is to become at least as knowledgeable as the most knowledgeable sys admin(and as wise). Shorter-term goal is to gain at least 3 tech certifications in the next 2 years, begin an entry-level IT job, and rise to at least a $70,000 annual pay rate within, at most, 2 years, due to my level of value. No need to worry about the time frame; I use SuperMemo(super-memo.com, NOT supermemo.com. I used to use Anki, but switched due to superior algorithm and much better long-term application.). Good ol' Musk said it best: And so I must master the complete fundamentals before mastering the advanced. There are so many different things to learn, I frankly just can't figure out what I need to learn first. I guess everything CompTIA+ is obvious- oh, I do need to say, I'm not meaning to come off as arrogant or pretentious, if I am coming off that way. But, well, where do I start? What educational path do I follow? And I would like to thank @LinusTech for inspiring me to pursue technology, as he has many others. ... I know I'm not the best at speech or writing, but... Thank you for your help, in advance.
  5. The text in my firefox toolbar is oversharpened, i think. is there a fix for something like that?
  6. None of those suggestions have resolved the issue.
  7. I also cannot access the "advanced settings" in my Picture menu.
  8. I am using a new RCA 4k 60hz tv as a monitor. The sharpness option is greyed out, and its causing white halos around text and stuff. As far as research has taken me, me not being able to use th sharpness setting is being caused by the signal or the color format. I can't change the color format or anything like that from the nvidia control panel... no option under the settings for it except the one currently being used. Help?

  10. s not that big a deal, was just curious. Thank you for the infoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooffffffffffffffffffffkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkffffffffffffffffff
  11. Lol, thta's cool with me. I'm already 'scribed sunglasses emoji What if a person were to cancel sub and resub? Would it go up?
  12. good points Well hell, your recommendation is as good as your own hands. ^u^ I honestly just got kinda spooked after watching your "are manufacturers of pcs ripping you off" series with Janice from accounting. And then in awe of the video you did with Riley about the price point pcs. @LinusTech Quick question- any idea if you guys will be putting your sister channels on Floatplane? I'm totally willing to pay 3 dollars for each individual channel.
  13. I think I trust Linus with my life, to say nothing of my computer. Any chance I could get him or someone under him to build and ship me a water cooler, high tier rig? Still clumsy super novice who’s never built a pc.
  14. Well, is a theoretical future purchase, so the budget really is kind of... infinite, for the sake of consideration.
  15. Yeah this'll be a fair ways into the future, this build. You think the new amd will be all it's cracked up to be?
  16. Yeah, I have Davinci Resolve, love it, it cant handle editing all 6 hobbit and lotr movies together into one film though... lol That threadripper idea sounds fabulous. Thank you!
  17. I need a computer capable of loading, editing, and saving 200GB video files without one hiccup. Suggestions? I don't know if I need a workstation or what, I honestly don't know if sli-ing a few 2080 ti's would do it as far as capability for graphics, and what about cpu? Is it possible to have, like, a few threadrippers working in tandum? This IS technically theoretical, but also a serious consideration for a future career.
  18. @Jurrunio @WereCatf @FloRolf @DankDeuxez @dgsddfgdfhgs Ok, so I’m getting the vibe that a single 1080ti is the better choice. It is, however, a fair bit pricier. How much would I be able to get away selling my GTX 970 for to help make up the cost, and would anyone even buy it?
