  1. First of all thanks for the response. I have ran passmark memtest and it passed. I think the ram should be seated correctly, tho it was my first time installing sodimm. The sticks are Kingston sticks and the part number is KVR48S40BS8K2-32. Should I try to reseat the RAM? Would there be any point to it after the memtest passed?
  2. Thanks for the idea! I ran it and it got to about 55% of a pass and then this happened: Everything seems to have just crashed and the time wasn't running anymore and I couldn't get out of the test so I had to do a hard reset... I have also run the Asus bios diagnostic check for RAM (who knows how useful that is) and it didn't report any errors.
  3. Hey all, I have recently purchased the ASUS ROG STRIX G18 that I have since upgraded with 4tb storage and 32GB ram. Now I run into a weird issue when playing demanding games for example cyberpunk 2077 where the laptop just powers off in certain spots in the game. Essentially when I am running around in the game there is a sudden power off and when I restart and load back in it crashes at the same spot again. I would say running around randomly after about a minute this happens. What I figured was that this is some kind of a thermal issue as I had upgraded the laptop and maybe I messed something up, but when running hwinfo64 on a second monitor the temps seem fine? Another thing I tried was the aida64 system stability benchmark thing and also starting furmark at the same time so that my components would be at 100% and no power off occurred. Soo I am at a loss at the moment, I couldn't find any log files or anything in the windows event viewer that would point to a software issue either, oh also: in hwinfo the power consumption also seemed fine. One possibility I guess is that furmark doesn't really load up the rt cores and is overall not that demanding? When I reached out to support they basically told me to reinstall the system which to be honest I am not too keen on especially because I don't even know if the problem is some kind of software issue or not. Basically I am looking for any and all troubleshooting tips or similar Thanks!
  4. I have solved the issue! 1. Enable Safe Boot(minimal) in Win10 2. Enable AHCI in BIOS. 3. Disable Safe Boot and restart. Thank you so much for your help!
  5. Alright will try this tomorrow thanks a bunch!!
  6. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can't change it to AHCI because windows crashes and I get a bluescreen. Secure boot is disabled and I am pretty sure That I am locked in UEFI mode since the option is greyed out and I cannot find any settings to enable it.

  8. Hello! I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 (Model name: Predator PH315-52). When I purchased the machine it had a single NVME M.2 SSD (256 GB) in it which had windows 10 installed on it. I quickly bought a SATA SSHD (2 TB) for my Steam Games etc. That was about a year ago, and even then I was messing around with dual-booting windows 10 with Linux. However I could only install Linux on my SATA drive and the NVME drive wouldn't even show up. Back then I was quite happy about this because it meant that I couldn't accidentally delete Windows while messing around. But it was slow so I recently bought another NVME SSD (1 TB) that I wanted to dedicate to Linux (So now I had 3 drives installed). I installed Linux on it and it worked for about a week but then I realized my BIOS was no longer accessible meaning that when I went to smash F2 on startup I would just get a black screen and a DOS like cursor that wasn't even blinking in the top left corner of my screen (the F12 Boot menu was still working), I updated my BIOS (with official software from Acers website) which resolved this issue. After that I tried booting my old Linux install and nothing happened so I tried to reinstall it but now my secondary SSD is also completely gone (Only from the secondary OS, Windows and my BIOS sees it just fine and I can write to it in windows as well). From what I have gathered on the Internet this issue has something to do with Intel's RST (Rapid Storage Technology) however I have no Idea how to circumvent this issue. Any help appreciated, Cheers!
  9. Right that would make sense since my cooler is pretty crappy... Thanks for the quick reply and the explanation. Cheers
  10. So i have a pc with a pretty old i5-4440 and I haven't given it a lot of attention until now. I just recently realized that it is running at the rated turbo clock (3.3 Ghz) When under no load and when hit with any kind of load it jumps back to base clock (3.1 Ghz). Is there any easy way to fix this? I am planning on building a new rig anyway so i don't want to spend anything on this (like a new cooler, new power supply, etc). (Prebuilt system except for the graphics card which I installed) Specs: -intel i5 4440 -gtx 1060 6gb Gigabyte OC - MB: H81M-A -8 GB kingston DDR3 RAM -580 Watt power supply (HKC ups5580) -intel stock cooler
