  1. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/75254/intel-xeon-processor-e7-8857-v2-30m-cache-3-00-ghz.html Might give you more of an insight into the intended use case; apologies if you've seen ^^^^ already
  2. I wouldn't have thought that RAID 0 of two 500GB 970 EVO's would be significantly faster that a stand-alone 1TB unit; on spinners it may have a better performance boost, but RAID levels of storage aren't something I have a lot of practical experience of. I would also suggest that a RAID array for a boot drive isn't a wise idea... for bulk storage, yes...
  3. Worth trying, to eliminate it as an option...
  4. Does your PSU work on your friends PC?
  5. That WAS 8yrs ago... and wasn't an SMT CPU.
  6. Max. Turbo boost is rarely an all-core achievement on sensible cooling... that's why they quote so many 'boost speeds'.
  7. I think 5.1GHz is gonna be a push even w/ "exotic cooling", for a 10600K.
  8. HWiNFO64 is my preferred reference for metrics like this
  9. A/M cooler will help drop the temp's., if you use the CPU loaded a lot, then I'd swap the stock cooler out.

  11. ... of the same brand? ... of another brand? Having worked in retail, it's a viable option to exchange like for like on DOA. Objection to this could easily have cemented a dislike of a whole brand based on a single DOA example... it happens.
  12. My take is that OP wants a cast iron reliability guarantee of a card working, based off a DOA of a single card. If the question IS 'Should I have bought the 5600XT in the first place (even if it wasn't DOA)...?'. then I didn't see that as being asked.
