  1. Well yeah I know I cant change the CPU. Idk about running out of ram but it gets used quick. Yes, I have and HDD and I know an ssd would help but I was wondering if it would make a difference in the random freezing.
  2. I have an Hp laptop with the specs in the picture below. Its horribly laggy and freezes when switching between tabs. My question is this. If I put an ssd an more ram (another 8gb stick), will i see any improvement? Or is it not worth my time? Also with one application running I only have about 8gb out of the 12 installed. Any tips whatsoever will help. I can't afford a new laptop at the moment. thanks
  3. I may be a tard but I am a functional tard. Its got integrated graphics Haha
  4. Waiting on gpu to come in but until I get it, I want to use my pc. Not sure what kind of plug this requires?
  5. So I'm an absolute pleb when it comes to this stuff. What do you mean pinot?
  6. I bought a fan without checking the connector *like a noob* and I was wondering if there was an adapter I could use? I have an optiplex 7010 lga1555 mobo.
  7. I'm building a low cost low level "gaming" pc. (Mostly just for school work but also light gaming such as "minecraft, Alex legends, and maybe gta") this is what I have: I5 3570 4x4gb ddr3 1333 500 watt evga psu. My question is, should I get the rx570 or rx580. The most important question I have is, is there enough difference between the 4gb and 8gb to make a difference? Would it be worth getting the 8gb over the 4gb? Again, this isnt supposed to be a beast but I want the best gpu for it. Thanks.
  8. I'm just now getting into pc gaming and I want to build a cheap device before I go all in. I currently have a dell mini tower with an i5-3570 non k. I want the best gpu that wont bottleneck. Price range doesnt matter that much. Is an rx580 8gb worth it or is there a better option? I have almost no money in the tower so paying more for a gpu is okay with me. Thanks
  9. Lmao please disregard. I just googled "pata" because it it sounded similar to sata and basically it's not worth keeping.
  10. Got an old (I mean really old) dell that came stock with XP. Obviously I didnt pay anything for it and I didnt plan on trying to do anything with the motherboard, cpu, and so on. I did however get a 500gb hdd out of it. The issue is, I dont know what kind of cables it takes. It's not the standard data on modern pcs. I was wondering if it would be worth keeping and maybe buying an adapter if one exists, or if I should just take it to be recycled? See pictures attached
  11. well allegedly the power supply is bad. It will turn on briefly and then immediately shut down. So I need to replace. However it could just be the motherboard but the mb doesn't look like its had too much of a beating.
  12. Got this pc free as parts and I think the only thing wrong with it is the psu. However, since it isnt the mini tower, the psu is smaller and more rectangular. Id like to put one closer to 300w in it. Anyways, My question is, is there an after market solution or will I have to buy a used one and hope it works? Or will a new psu even help? (see pictures below for reference) its an optiplex 790 with the i5 2400
  13. picked up 3 pcs for a super good deal and one is a dell optiplex 780 with rhe i5 2nd gen. It came with some low power amd radeon gpu and I was wanting to know what it was exactly. Waiting on new psu and ssd to come in. I'll attach a pic below. It reads ETON ET866
  14. If I go with the gt 730, will it require a new power supply?
  15. correct. since my cpu doesn't come with integrated graphics
  16. Im just trying to build a work/leisure pc out of old parts. I have a optiplex 790 that i got for free and I want to put a xeon 1230 in it. To my knowledge, the xeon doesn't have integrated graphics. Therefore, what kind of cheap used gpu can I through in it? Trying to stay under 45$ or so. Please do not lambaste me if any of this sounds stupid. Im new to this and just want a little help. Thanks. (And Yes I am putting a larger power supply in it)
