  1. Found it on some site on how to create restore points automatically. Just wanted to make sure it's nothing malicious.
  2. I don't know this stuff and I'm just curious as to what this command does when set in powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "Checkpoint-Computer -Description \"My Restore Point Startup\" -RestorePointType \"MODIFY_SETTINGS\""
  3. Ok thanks. I used the system restore that was made by HitmanPro and everything works now
  4. Could you walk me through the steps? I don't normally do this type of stuff. It won't delete anything right?
  5. It started when my 3.0 USB ports stopped working, I thought it was just my 4 year old motherboard failing. So I bought an expansion card, and problem solved. But I thought, maybe I'll run a virus scan. Just in case. I scanned with Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, ADW cleaner and HitmanPro. Kaspersky found malware running in memory prior to this scan which said I had no malware. Malwarebytes flagged some registry keys. I just clicked on quarantine without thinking. Others returned nothing. I restarted my pc. And it felt like the windows logo was spinning forever. Then my pc automatically restarted into recovery mode. And here I am now. What should I do to do the least damage possible? (Like doing a system restore that might delete some files)
  6. This is a very weird issue. On the back I have 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports. In the 3.0 ports I had plugged in a Valve Index and my WD Blue external drive. I started my computer but it wasn't detecting my Valve Index so I turned off my computer and switched the two USB's. But then my external drive didn't show up in Windows. Despite is still flashing its light. When I try to plug in a mouse or my flash drive though, everything works fine. So I checked the Device Manager. I plugged in the Valve Index and it kept refreshing the list and I spotted these changes: image1 image2. I checked some of those and they said: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)". I don't know what to do apart from buying a USB expansion thingy. Any ideas? Edit: The only changes made to the system are installing the Valve Index, it was working for the past 2 days before this issue appeared.
  7. Because I'm buying a Valve index and the best of I can buy for it but I still wanna save as much money as I can. Obviously I can buy every part overpriced and pay 3000 or do my research and pay 2400 or less Euros.
  8. There is no way of finding an EVGA rtx 2080 ti card that's under 1300 Euros in the Netherlands.
  9. How can someone get scammed on amazon though? Don't they have like a money-back guarantee and all of that?
  10. I found this seller which is selling the card for a sweet price of 999 euros. I mean, I could just buy it and return it if it's used or broken.
  11. I'm buying a new pc soon and found a really good deal for a power supply. This Cooler Master MWE Gold 750 Fully Modular PSU. But I'm wondering if it'll be enough for my new pc. This PSU calculator site says that it's fine but I honestly don't know. Specs: Gigabyte Z390 GAMING X Asus GeForce RTX 2080Ti ROG Strix OC i7 9700k G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2x8GB DDR4 RAM
  12. I know that the 1070 won't be a big problem. I want to upgrade my gpu outside of VR as well but I'm worried about my processor bottlenecking it. I just wanna know if I'll be getting the 120-144fps on simple games with the i7 4790 and rtx 2080 (ti). (on the valve index of course)
  13. This is my PC now:i7 4790 non k cooled with a hyper 212 evoEVGA GTX 1070 SC16GB DDR3I have about 2020 Euros and I have 2 options. Either to buy the Valve index and an RTX 2080 (ti if that's worth the money). Or buy a PC with the i7 9700k, rtx 2080 etc. And then wait to buy the index or another headset in the future. I really wanna try VR but I don't know if the i7 4790 non k with the RTX 2080 (ti) will be enough or if there will be a huge bottleneck. Any ideas?
