  1. I was playing a game today and my computer froze up. What's weird is that the music I was playing stopped as well even though it was playing through a DAC connected to the motherboard (It should have kept playing even if the graphics card failed is what I'm thinking). When I tried to turn it back on, I got to the Windows login screen, but it was frozen as well. I thought it was my peripherals, so i disconnected and reconnected my mouse and keyboard and neither of them appeared to wake up my screen and bring me to my user login. I shut off my computer, disconnected it from everything, held down the power button for a minute or two, plugged it back in, and this time it brung up the AORUS logo as well as a "Please wait" and a Windows loading balls animation. Then, it froze. I waited for like 5 minutes and nothing happened. I restarted again, but this time i spammed the "delete" key to get into the BIOS. One of the Windows loading balls appeared and it froze again. I tried again and it was frozen. I tried reseating my gpu, storage devices, etc. to no avail. Stick GPU in oven as last resort or do you think it's possible that it's something else? Thank's for your response.
  2. PSU is probably just over a year old, just tested it a couple of months ago as well and there were no problems. Minecraft generally didn't have any problems, even with intense shaders. That's the only other game I was able to test it with.
  3. Update: After setting my BIOS settings to their Optimized Defaults, I launched WoW to see what would happen. Initially, on one of my characters the little tassels on sword were flipping around, along with some other 3D physics objects that were suppose to interact with gravity and movement within game were spazzing out. When I started recording, it caught me off guard when the entire screen started freaking out, to a much greater extent than before. Usually, certain objects within the game would flicker or move or artifact, but this time is seemed like the entire screen was freaking out. As soon as I stopped recording, the entire-screen artifacts went away. I recorded two videos, one using OBS and one on my phone and uploaded them both. Let me know what you think. Maybe the extra CPU usage triggered it? I will try running prime95 and World of Warcraft at the same time and see what happens. Phone OBS
  4. Temps are good, hovering around 70-72C for my card after a Furmark burn-in and 68-70C for my CPU after the Furmark CPU burner. I will try loading my BIOS at default settings. Edit: I just tried setting my BIOS back to "Optimized Defaults" and I'm still getting the weird artifacts.
  5. Hi, I used OCCT to test my system memory and my video memory. I got no errors after testing both of those. Then, I ran a 3D test and within 1 minute I got more than 1.3 million errors. https://imgur.com/a/ljzvgO4 What could this mean? I ran the test without any overclock on my graphics card. I do not have another card or system to test this in. Thanks for the reply
  6. Hi, I've been recently having some issues where certain elements of games flicker in and out of existence, stretch, or are moved up for a few seconds. Here are some videos which allow you to see this issue better: GTA Online World of Warcraft 1 World of Warcraft 2 Furmark Test Some screenshots of the issue Userbenchmark with all overclocks off I've tried disabling all of my overclocks, updating my graphics drivers, and changing in-game settings. These issues seem to have came up once I disabled my overclock on my CPU about a day or two ago. I used to clock it at 4.0Ghz, however I disabled it to be 3.7Ghz with 4.3Ghz turbo. I also recently was playing around with my memory overclock, which was changed from 2933Mhz to 3200Mhz on 3000Mhz RAM. However, once I saw these problems I clocked it back to 2933Mhz. I also tried putting everything's clock back to what it was when it was working, and I kept getting the same problems. It seems like the issues have to do with 3D, however I could be wrong. Both games I tested were on different drives. WoW was on the 970 EVO and GTA was on the SP. Also, about a week ago I started noticing that when I load into World of Warcraft for the first time that day, I get extremely low FPS (around 10-20) for about a minute, until it went back up to around 90 or so. This issue didn't seem to persist for very long though. Does anybody know what could be causing this? 7. Do you mean a B550 or a X570? I'm pretty sure the only difference is that the B550 does not support SLI. X570 comes with a ton of other features, and honestly, with your system, I wouldn't cheap out for a B550 board when you already have a Ryzen 9 3900x and an rtx 2070/3070. Going X570 will offer more options and extra upgradability in the future.
  8. Hi, I bought an x570-plus Tuf Gaming motherboard from Best Buy today and plugged everything into it. I only plugged in what was necessary, and I still got the dreaded VGA error. I tried this with both cards. They seem to be powered up because my monitor turns on when I turn my computer on, which must mean that there is at least power being transmitted through the DisplayPort cable. My best bet is that it is the CPU. I will be taking it to geek squad some time this weekend probably.
  9. Yeah, mine is only about a year or two old, that'll be the next thing I'll try if a new motherboard doesn't fix it. Thank you for the reply.
  10. Hi, I’ve been having some trouble with my computer lately. About a week ago I turned on my computer and it worked perfectly. I shut it down and went to bed. The next day, I turn my computer on and there is no signal on my monitor. So I check what's going on inside my case. My graphics card's fans were spinning, but there was no signal. One single, bright red light on the motherboard which corresponded to "VGA" was lit up. So, I do some research on what this error code means and how to fix it. After reading through what seemed like every article and resource, I started troubleshooting my computer. First, I tried restarting my PC. Then, I tried reseating my GPU. I tried using a different cable to power my graphics card, using the other PCIE slot, plugging in the power cable into a different slot on the PSU, waiting a day with the computer completely unplugged from everything, all of these attempts lead to the same “VGA” error light. Finally, in a desperate attempt to get my computer running again before World of Warcraft: Shadowlands launched, I decided to call Gigabyte support. I told them about my problem and that either their mobo or their graphics card didn’t work. The lady on the phone told me “I am 99% sure that it is the graphics card.” Unfortunately, I didn’t have another graphics card or motherboard to test out which component is faulty so I was left in the dark. After sitting on this for a while, I decided to purchase another graphics card. This time i got an ASUS GTX 1070 ROG STRIX. I plug it in, connect the power to it, and a white light turns on where the power connects. I suppose this signals that it is getting power delivered to it. Anyways, I turn the computer on and it still doesn’t display a signal. I look at the motherboard and I’m still getting the “VGA” error light. I then proceed to try various things, such as using 1 of the 2 sticks of ram, literally disconnecting everything the computer doesn’t need for it to boot, running it in SLI using both of my gtx 1070s, and almost nothing happens. After I tried using SLI, (or maybe after switching out the RAM) I started getting an error code that went in a cycle of CPU -> DRAM -> VGA -> CPU… That’s where I’m at now. I’m trying to figure out what the main culprit is. I’m 100% sure it is not the graphics cards, CPU, Boot drive (m.2) or RAM, and 99% sure it isn’t the PSU. The only thing this leaves is the motherboard. I’m using this motherboard as a third-hand owner, already refurbished. I’m pretty confident that it’s the motherboard, but I can’t be certain because everything else about the system seems to be working just fine. It posts, turns the RAM and AIO rgb on, the fans turn on, etc. There is no visible damage to the motherboard or either of the graphics cards. What could be my problem? Should I try ordering a new motherboard and try that out? Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for helping me out. 11. I personally use my fastest SSD for my boot drive and anything else that needs to be fetched quickly. Your sata SSD is going to be a lot slower, but will still be super fast. I'd make your SN750 your OS drive, I would also keep your editing software on the faster SN750. Keep your programs on the faster drive and your files on the slower drive.
  12. I'm looking for a way to emulate Dualshock 4 button presses on my PS4 from my computer without using remote play. I intend to run a macro that grabs a picture of the screen from a capture card, and depending on what it sees it will execute a task, such as pressing a keyboard stroke or moving my mouse. (https://www.jitbit.com/macro-recorder/) I plan to use this as the brains of my operation. However, I need to communicate back to my PS4 with button presses depending on what the macro outputs. It would be a lot simpler if I could use remote play, however I will need it to be able to sign into and log out of accounts, disconnect from the internet, etc. without being disconnected from my computer. I have the solution to how my PS4 will communicate with my computer, but I don't know how my computer can communicate back to the PS4 with the proper button presses. This includes the software/ hardware needed to communicate with the console as well as how I can emulate the button presses. All knowledge, generosity and help is appreciated.
  13. Hi, I have an h115i and an h500 coolermaster case and I’m having some trouble figuring out where I should put my fans. Ideally, I would have the two 200mm fans at the front, and the radiator and fans on the top, pushing air out. Unfortunately, for some reason, my radiator and fans didn’t fit inside the case because the ram got in the way. So for the longest time I had the radiator on the top inside, and the fans on the top outside. i recently opened it up to clean it out, and decided that I may as well move the radiator while I’m at it, since I’ve had enough of cords falling into the fans and stopping them or making noises. I can put my radiator up front no problem, and I can easily fit the fans in too. This leaves me with a 200mm fan I can place up top blowing out and one 200mm fan that will not be used. Or, I could try just mounting the radiator there and letting the two big fans blow in and putting the two 120mm fans on top blowing out. Let me know if any of you have any ideas on how they could be mounted, and what you think the best configuration would be.
  14. Hi guys, right now in my home I have airport time capsule for the main network router, connected to my modem. Then, I have a cat6 cable running up to my room for improved wireless connection in my room. I run the second router, which is also an airport time capsule albeit an older model. It serves it purpose just fine, but I’m only getting about 120 mbps wired from an advertised 200 from my network provider. I have yet to test whether being connected to the router downstairs wired directly will give me a stronger connection than being connected to the router upstairs, but I was getting around 120 upstairs using bridge mode. So I was thinking something was bottlenecking it, as having my phone right next to my router downstairs was still getting ~100 mbps. Should I upgrade my router downstairs or upstairs?
