About Me
I would like to see the first space sport to be robotics based, operated by humans on the ground.
This sport would work like this: a rocket with the sport equipment packaged in the fairing would be launched on a vertical sub-orbital trajectory to achieve a similar zero-g duration to the tourist flights (5 mins). The sport would be played within this zero-g window.
The rocket would launch vertically, and the players would be within direct line of sight to control RC vehicles around a course that inflates from the rocket. These vehicles would be 6 axis rcs vehicles that use a small bottle of compressed gas as a propellent and have an FPV camera mounted to them in a similar fashion to FPV quadcopter drones. The sport would be to race the small thruster powered gas bottles with cameras around an inflatable set of hoops. Viewing could be a combination of cameras mounted to the vehicles, cameras mounted to the course hoops and rocket, and telescopes from the ground.
