  1. Yh, that's what I was thinking as well.. The only reason I considered undervolting was to bring down temps a bit. As long as it doesn't reach 100c on heavy load I'm pretty much satisfied.
  2. I know the temps are a bit on the high side on spikes, but that's probably to be expected from this chip - I've considered maybe undervolting, but not sure if it's worth it on the 12900KS. Temps also seem to be more controlled (under 90c) when using "Extreme" preset on iCUE software, but that's too loud for every day usage... I have it set to "Balance" during testing.
  3. I do understand the screen door effect, I just don’t get the striking horizontal lines. I’d understand if they also were vertical, but they are not. I only see horizontal lines while in the G2 headset, which is why I’m concerned and curious. On my Quest headset there are noticable pixels (screen door effect), but there are no horizontal lines present. Which results in an overall smoother image with no distractions. I’m just curious about the horizontal lines specifically, not each individual pixel and the space between them.
  4. I find it odd that it’s not present on my Quest, even though that headset has a much lower pixel count than my G2...
  5. TL;DR in the end, but hopefully you read the whole thing or at least check the two examples provided. Thank you for any help! Greetings from a disconserted July G2 pre-order costumer So... I went into VR for some HL Alyx yesterday, and I kept noticing these horizontal lines while looking at bright objects/the sky/scenes with uniformed colors (pretty much the whole game). At first I thought it was the lenses of the VR headset, but after playing I checked if my monitor had a similar, call it "effect", and surely it does. *This is not the screen door effect - I’m referring solely to the horizontal banding lines* Example 1 - Monitor (Sorry for the bad quality, hopefully you can see what I’m trying to address - look from the right of the image, where the effect is more pronounced) Example 2 - VR Headset ("They are faint lines, I pronounced the effect in the photo." Credit to Reddit User u/fujiapplelover for the photo, taken from a similar post he did) The effect is only noticable when I move my head in VR, even a very subtle movement, not while I’m completely still and focusing at a certain spot. As you can see there are vague horizontal banding lines going across the pixel arrangement of the panel. This is kind of immersion breaking while in VR, as you basically have the panel strapped to your eyeballs and not even as much as a single pixel can escape. While playing normal flat screen (2D) games you can’t really notice it unless you are as close to the monitor as seen in *Example 1* above. I might be of the picky kind, as I’m really sensitive to minor details like this, but at the same time it got me questioning if this was normal or if maybe my GPU was causing this. It is quite annoying and pulls me out of immersion more often than not tbh. I don’t see this effect on my Oculus Quest VR headset at all - hence why I got extra curious. The panel on the Quest seems more uniform and clean compared to my G2, even with less pixels. TL;DR: My G2 headset has vague horizontal lines across the whole panel, something my Quest 1 does not. Was wondering if my G2 unit is faulty or if this can maybe be fixed through software/updates down the road. Monitor: Samsung CRG9 (QLED) PCVR Headset: HP Reverb G2
  6. Just an end note: I ran Kombustor stress test on a 5120x1440 costum resolution for 10 minutes with a steady 70 fps, 0/0 artifacts and a max temp of 60c. I will probably have to do a few more tests for a longer period of time, but I’m guessing this is a good start!
  7. That is reassuring, even though I wish there was a way to remove it. Takes away the immersion from time to time, especially on a screen this big. Thank you nonetheless!
  8. Yes, that was what I was referring to! What is it exactly? I haven’t really noticed it before I started to invest in high-end gaming systems..!
  9. Temps are well within range, 60c-70c after hours of gaming. I’ll run Kombustor with HWinfo (to check temps) and come back with the results!
  10. I’ve noticed that this grid-looking artifact appears in games, mostly on textures like bushes and trees, but also occasionally on shadows and characters. It is noticable both close-up and from a distance, but mostly if you are closer to the object as seen in the attached photo. The attached photo in this post is taken within a bush from The Witcher 3, as I noticed it appearing quite often in that particular game. I’ve also tested GTA, Forza and other games where this occurs on gras, trees and bushes. Is this a normal artifact in todays games or should I be worried that there is something wrong with my GPU? All games I’ve tested so far are with Nvidia Control Panel tweaks to prefer maximum quality and everything in-game is set to ULTRA - the artifact still appears. 11. My 2080 Ti produces pretty bad coil whine if I have Vsync OFF and uncapped FPS in games. Is this normal across most (if not all) GPUs? Will there always be some coil whine with these settings? The reason behind asking is that I’m unsure whether I should RMA it and get a replacement or just keep it if a new one will sound the same anyway. Fair to note that it doesn’t produce coil whine if I cap the FPS below 300. It also depends on the game itself. Rainbow Six Siege with uncapped frames produces extremely annoying sounds g.g.
  12. I’m having this issue where I get a motherboard error code "04" upon boot and sometimes only one out of the three case fans are spinning. Even when temps are increasing in games etc it don’t seem to trigger them. Here is a short video of the error code and the two bottom fans not spinning: Youtube Not sure if the error code and fans are related, but I thought I should mention them both nonetheless. Motherboard: Aorus Master Z390 Cooler: H150i Pro Case Fans: 3x Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM Power Supply: Seasonic Focus+ 850W 80+ GOLD PSU Any help would be gladly appreciated as this is starting to get quite annoying..!
  13. Hi! A new H150i arrived yesterday because the previous one I got was faulty. The replacement unit they sent me has a small damage on the radiator fins (screenshot) - looks like the metal is bent and turned white/gray. It is really tiny and difficult to see through the fins, so I'm not sure whether the water pipes are damaged or not. So far there hasn't been any noticeable leakage though. Is it necessary to RMA a second time or do you think it is safe to use? Regards, Sisto
  14. You even included the best Norwegian price matcher - I'm impressed! The Celsius S36 seems like a very good alternative, and it's even cheaper than most AiO's I've looked at..! I think I'll pick this one up. Thank you !
  15. I've been using the BenQ XL2546 as my main gaming monitor for a while now, but lately I've been looking into investing in a secondary monitor to use in my main field of work. That includes Video Editing, Photography and Music Production using programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop and Pro Tools. I'd also like to use this monitor for entertainment and everything else; the XL2546 has horrible viewing angles and colors, but I'd like to keep it for gaming either way. I've upgraded my system to i9 9900K - M.2 Evo Plus - 2070 Super OC, so hopefully it will run a dual monitor setup like this with ease. As I have a mild case of OSD, I like that everything in my setup matches - that includes monitors - so I've naturally looked up BenQ monitors with a similar appearance as my gaming monitor. I've landed mainly on two 1440p monitors by BenQ, as my wallet tells me the 4K versions are too expensive. Here are the two I've looked at: BenQ 27" LED SW2700PT BenQ 32" LED PD3200Q - I know it's stupid deciding for a monitor based on its looks, but it would've been a big plus if it matched with my gaming monitor nonetheless. Any suggestions will be very appreciated!
